The key inside the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter is used for the driver’s door. To remove the key, press the button near the bottom of the transmitter and pull the key out. Never pull the key out without pressing the button. If it becomes difficult to turn the key, inspect the key blade for debris.

The RKE transmitter for your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 has several functions:

Q (Lock): Press to lock all doors. The turn signal indicators may flash and/or the horn may sound on the second press to indicate locking. It may also arm the theft-deterrent system.

K (Unlock): Press to unlock the driver door. Press again within five seconds to unlock all doors. When remotely unlocking at night, the fog lamps and back-up lamps may come on to light your approach. Pressing Unlock will also disarm the theft-deterrent system. If enabled, press and hold to remotely open all windows.

/ (Remote Start): If equipped, press and release Q and then immediately press and hold / for at least four seconds to start the engine from outside the vehicle.

7 (Vehicle Locator/Panic Alarm): Press and release one time to locate the vehicle; the exterior lamps flash and the horn chirps three times. Press and hold for three seconds to sound the panic alarm.

b (Liftgate): Press twice quickly to open or close the liftgate. Press once to stop the liftgate from moving.

The Keyless Access system allows you to lock and unlock the doors and access the liftgate without removing the RKE transmitter from your pocket, purse, or briefcase. The RKE transmitter must be within 1 m (3 ft) of the door or liftgate being opened.

Unlocking/Locking from the Driver Door: When the doors are locked and the transmitter is within range, pressing the lock/unlock button on the driver door handle will unlock the driver door. If pressed again within five seconds, all passenger doors will unlock.

Unlocking/Locking from Passenger Doors: When doors are locked and the transmitter is within range of a passenger door handle, pressing the lock/unlock button on that handle will unlock all doors.

Passive Locking: If enabled, the vehicle will lock several seconds after all doors are closed if the vehicle is off and at least one RKE transmitter has been removed or none remain in the interior. This feature can be customized in Vehicle Personalization.

Keyless Liftgate Opening: Press the touch pad on the liftgate handle to open the liftgate if the RKE transmitter is within 1 m (3 ft).

To program a new transmitter when you have two recognized transmitters, the vehicle must be off and all transmitters (current and new) must be with you. Follow these steps:

1. Remove the key from the new RKE transmitter.

2. Place the two recognized transmitters in the cupholder.

3. Remove the key lock cylinder cap on the driver door handle. Insert the key of the new transmitter into the key lock cylinder and turn it counterclockwise to the unlock position five times within 10 seconds. The Driver Information Center (DIC) will display “READY FOR REMOTE #3, 4, 5, ETC.”

4. Remove the two recognized transmitters from the cupholder.

5. Place the new transmitter into the cupholder.

6. Press the ENGINE START/STOP button. When the transmitter is learned, the DIC will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter.

7. To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 4–6. When all transmitters are programmed, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for 12 seconds to exit programming mode.

8. Put the key back into the transmitter and replace the key lock cylinder cap.

If the transmitter battery is weak, the DIC may display a message such as “NO REMOTE DETECTED” or “PLACE KEY IN TRANSMITTER POCKET THEN START YOUR VEHICLE.” To start the vehicle:

1. Place the RKE transmitter in the cupholder.

2. With the vehicle in P (Park) or N (Neutral), press the brake pedal and then press the ENGINE START/STOP button.

Replace the transmitter battery as soon as possible.

To replace the battery in your RKE transmitter, follow these steps:

1. Press the button on the side of the RKE transmitter to pull out the key.

2. Insert a flat, thin object in the center of the transmitter to separate and remove the back cover.

3. Lift the old battery out with a flat object.

4. Remove the battery.

5. Insert the new CR2032 or equivalent battery, with the positive side facing the back cover.

6. Push the two halves of the transmitter back together.

7. Reinsert the key.

If your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 is equipped with remote start, you can start the engine from outside the vehicle. Other conditions like low fuel can prevent remote start from working.

Starting the Engine Using Remote Start:

1. Press and release the Q (Lock) button on the RKE transmitter.

2. Immediately press and hold the / (Remote Start) button for at least four seconds or until the turn signal lamps flash. The parking lamps will turn on and remain on while the engine is running, and the doors will be locked.

3. The engine will shut off after 15 minutes unless a time extension is done or the ignition is turned on before driving.

Extending Engine Run Time:

To get a 15-minute extension, repeat steps 1 and 2 while the engine is still running. The remote start can be extended once for a total of 30 minutes.

Canceling a Remote Start:

To shut off the engine, press and hold the / button until the parking lamps turn off, turn on the hazard warning flashers, or turn the ignition on and then off.

The power liftgate switch is on the driver’s door, and the vehicle must be in P (Park). The switch has three modes: MAX (opens to maximum height), 3/4 (opens to a reduced height), and OFF (manual operation only).

To power open or close the liftgate, select MAX or 3/4 mode and do one of the following:

• Press b twice quickly on the RKE transmitter.

• Press 8 on the driver door (the driver door must be unlocked).

• Press the touch pad on the bottom of the liftgate after unlocking all doors.

• Press l on the bottom of the liftgate next to the pull cup to close.

You can stop the liftgate’s movement at any time by pressing any liftgate button, the touch pad, or b on the RKE transmitter. Pressing a button again will restart the operation in the reverse direction.

If equipped, the liftgate on your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 may be operated with a kicking motion under the rear bumper. The RKE transmitter must be within 1 m (3 ft) of the rear bumper for this feature to work.

To operate, kick your foot straight up in one swift motion under the rear bumper between the left exhaust pipe and the license plate, then pull it back. Do not sweep your foot side to side or keep it under the bumper.

The taillamps will flash and a chime will sound before the liftgate starts moving. This feature can be customized to be On-Open and Close, On-Open Only, or Off through the vehicle personalization settings.

The anti-theft alarm system on your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 can be armed in two ways:

• Use the RKE transmitter to lock the vehicle.

• With a door open, press the interior power lock button Q.

After 30 seconds, the alarm system will arm. An indicator light near the windshield indicates the system’s status: Off (disarmed), On Solid (delay to arm), Fast Flash (a door, hood, or liftgate is open), or Slow Flash (armed).

To disarm the system, press K on the RKE transmitter or start the vehicle.

If a door, the hood, or the liftgate is opened without first disarming the system, the turn signals will flash and the horn will sound for about 30 seconds.

Adjust the driver seat only when the vehicle is not moving.

Manual Seat Adjustment:

• Seat Position: Pull the handle at the front of the seat cushion to unlock it. Move the seat forward or rearward and release the handle. Try to move the seat to ensure it is locked.

• Seat Height: Move the lever on the side of the seat up or down to raise or lower the seat.

Power Seat Adjustment (if equipped):

• Seat Position: Slide the control forward or rearward.

• Seat Cushion Height: Move the front of the control up or down to raise or lower the front part of the cushion. Move the rear of the control up or down to raise or lower the entire seat.

Lumbar Adjustment (if equipped): Press and hold the front or rear of the circular control to increase or decrease lumbar support.

Reclining Seatbacks:

• Manual: Lift the lever on the side of the seat, move the seatback to the desired position, and release the lever.

• Power: Tilt the top of the seat control rearward to recline or forward to raise.

If equipped, memory seats allow two drivers to save and recall their seat and power mirror positions.

Saving Memory Positions:

1. Turn the vehicle on or to ACC/ACCESSORY.

2. Adjust the driver seat and power mirrors to the desired position.

3. Press and release the SET button; a beep will sound.

4. Immediately press and hold memory button 1 or 2 until two beeps sound.

5. To save an exit position, adjust the seat for easy exit, press and release SET, then immediately press and hold B (Exit) until two beeps sound.

Manually Recalling Memory Positions:

Press and hold button 1, 2, or B until the saved position is reached. Releasing the button stops the recall movement.

Automatic Memory Recalls:

If enabled in vehicle personalization, positions saved to button 1 or 2 are automatically recalled when the vehicle is turned on, linked to RKE transmitters 1 and 2 respectively.

If your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 is equipped with heated and ventilated seats, the buttons are located on the center console. The engine must be running to operate them.

• Press I or + to heat the driver or passenger seatback only.

• Press J or z to heat the driver or passenger cushion and seatback.

• Press C or { to ventilate the driver or passenger seat. A ventilated seat has a fan that pulls air through the cushion and seatback.

Press the button once for the highest setting (three indicator lights). Each subsequent press will lower the setting until it turns off.

During a remote start, the heated or ventilated seats may turn on automatically based on the outside temperature if the feature is enabled in vehicle personalization.

Always unbuckle the seat belts and return them to their stowed position before folding a rear seat.

To Fold the Seatback:

1. Pull the handle on top of the seatback to unlock it. A tab near the lever will raise when unlocked.

2. Fold the seatback forward.

3. Stow the seat belt in the belt stowage clip.

If equipped, the rear seatbacks can also be folded by pulling the levers on the passenger side of the rear cargo area.

To Raise the Seatback:

1. Ensure the seat belt is in the stowage clip.

2. Lift the seatback up and push it rearward to lock it in place. The tab near the lever will retract when locked.

3. Push and pull on the top of the seatback to ensure it is locked into position.

For proper protection, follow these rules for wearing a seat belt:

• Sit up straight and keep your feet on the floor in front of you.

• Always use the correct buckle for your seating position.

• Wear the lap part of the belt low and snug on the hips, just touching the thighs.

• Wear the shoulder belt over the shoulder and across the chest.

• Never allow the lap or shoulder belt to become loose or twisted.

• Never wear the shoulder belt under both arms or behind your back.

• Never route the lap or shoulder belt over an armrest.

The Passenger Sensing System in your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 is designed to turn off the front outboard passenger frontal airbag under certain conditions. It uses sensors in the passenger seat and seat belt to detect the presence of a properly seated occupant and determine if the airbag should be enabled.

The system is designed to turn OFF the passenger frontal airbag if:

• The front passenger seat is unoccupied.

• The system determines an infant is present in a child restraint.

• A front passenger takes their weight off the seat for a period of time.

• There is a critical problem with the airbag system or the passenger sensing system.

When the airbag is turned off, the OFF indicator on the overhead console will light up. When the airbag is enabled, the ON indicator will light up. Everyone in the vehicle who has outgrown child restraints should wear a seat belt properly, whether or not there is an airbag for that person.

If an adult-sized person is sitting in the front passenger seat and the OFF indicator is lit, it could be because the person is not sitting properly or the child restraint locking feature is engaged on the seat belt. Follow these steps to allow the system to detect the person and enable the airbag:

1. Turn the vehicle off.

2. Remove any items from the seat, such as blankets, cushions, or seat covers.

3. Place the seatback in the fully upright position.

4. Have the person sit upright in the seat, centered on the cushion, with legs comfortably extended.

5. Unbuckle the seat belt and let it go back all the way. Then, buckle the seat belt again without pulling the belt out all the way to ensure the child restraint locking feature is not engaged.

6. Restart the vehicle and have the person remain in this position for two to three minutes after the ON indicator is lit.

The LATCH system uses lower anchors and top tether anchors in the vehicle to secure a compatible child restraint. The lower anchors are metal bars located in the crease between the seatback and seat cushion. Top tether anchors are on the back of the rear seatback.

To install a LATCH-compatible child restraint:

1. Find the lower anchors for the desired seating position.

2. Place the child restraint on the vehicle seat.

3. Attach and tighten the lower attachments on the child restraint to the vehicle’s lower anchors.

4. If the child restraint has a top tether, find the top tether anchor on the back of the seat.

5. Route, attach, and tighten the top tether according to the child restraint manufacturer’s instructions.

6. Before placing a child in the restraint, grasp it at the LATCH path and attempt to move it side-to-side and back-and-forth. There should be no more than 2.5 cm (1 in) of movement for a proper installation.

Your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 is equipped with side-rails for a roof rack system. Cargo must be secured with properly installed cross rails and other accessories. Never load cargo directly on the roof.

Cargo Weight Limits: Do not exceed the maximum cargo weight for the roof rack system. The weight limit depends on your vehicle’s configuration:

• Front-Wheel Drive with Sunroof: 40 kg (88 lb)

• Front-Wheel Drive without Sunroof: 65 kg (143 lb)

• All-Wheel Drive with Sunroof: 25 kg (55 lb)

• All-Wheel Drive without Sunroof: 50 kg (110 lb)

The weight of any cargo on the roof rack must be included when calculating the vehicle’s total loaded weight. Do not exceed the vehicle’s maximum capacity as shown on the Tire and Loading Information label.

The wiper/washer lever is on the side of the steering column.

Windshield Wipers:

• HI: Fast wipes

• LO: Slow wipes

• INT: Intermittent wipes. Turn the band on the lever to adjust the delay.

• OFF: Turns wipers off.

• 1X: For a single wipe, briefly move the lever down.

• Washer: Pull the lever toward you to spray washer fluid.

Rear Window Wiper/Washer:

Turn the end of the wiper lever to operate the rear wiper.

• ON: Slow wipes

• INT: Intermittent wipes

• OFF: Turns system off.

• Washer: Push the lever away from you to spray washer fluid on the rear window.

If equipped, your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 has a wireless charging pocket outside the armrest of the center console that can charge one Qi compatible smartphone. The vehicle must be on, in ACC/ACCESSORY, or in Retained Accessory Power (RAP) mode.

To charge a compatible smartphone:

1. Remove all objects from the charging pocket.

2. With the smartphone screen facing the rear of the vehicle, slowly insert the smartphone into the charging pocket until the charging symbol ($) displays on the infotainment screen.

If the charging symbol does not appear:

1. Remove the smartphone from the pocket and wait three seconds.

2. Turn the smartphone 180 degrees and insert it back into the pocket with the screen facing the rear of the vehicle.

A thick smartphone case may prevent the charger from working properly.

The Driver Information Center (DIC) displays are shown in the center of the instrument cluster. The controls are on the right steering wheel control.

Base and Midlevel Clusters:

• Use o or p to choose the Trip, Vehicle, or Eco menus.

• Use w or x to scroll through items in each menu.

• Press V to open a menu, select an item, or press and hold to reset values.

Uplevel Cluster:

• Press o or p to change between cluster applications (Home, Info, Audio, Navigation, Phone, Options).

• Press w or x to scroll through the list of available features within each application.

• Press V to select an item.

You can customize vehicle features through the infotainment system. To access the personalization menu:

1. Touch the Settings icon on the Home Page of the infotainment display.

2. Touch Vehicle to display a list of available options.

3. Touch to select the desired feature setting.

4. Touch the options to turn a feature on or off, or to select from a list of choices.

5. Touch z to go to the top level of the Settings menu.

You can customize settings for Climate and Air Quality, Collision/Detection Systems, Comfort and Convenience, Lighting, Power Door Locks, and Remote Lock, Unlock, and Start, among others.

To program the Universal Remote System for a device like a garage door opener, follow these steps:

1. Hold the end of the original hand-held transmitter about 3 to 8 cm (1 to 3 in) away from the Universal Remote system buttons in your vehicle.

2. At the same time, press and hold both the hand-held transmitter button and one of the three Universal Remote system buttons. Do not release either button until the indicator light on the Universal Remote system goes from a slow to a rapid flash. Then release both buttons.

3. Press and hold the newly programmed button for five seconds while watching the indicator light and the garage door. If the garage door moves or the indicator light stays on continuously, programming is complete.

For rolling code garage door openers:

4. If the door does not move but the light blinks rapidly and then turns solid, locate the “Learn” or “Smart” button on the garage door opener motor unit inside the garage.

5. Press and release the “Learn” or “Smart” button. You will have 30 seconds to complete the next step.

6. Inside the vehicle, press and hold the newly programmed Universal Remote system button for two seconds and then release it. Repeat this press/hold/release sequence up to three times. The garage door should now activate.

The exterior lamp control is on the instrument panel to the left of the steering column and has four positions:

• O: Turns the exterior lamps off and deactivates AUTO mode.

• AUTO: Automatically turns the exterior lamps on and off depending on outside lighting.

• ;: Turns on the parking lamps including all lamps, except the headlamps.

• 5: Turns on the headlamps, parking lamps, and instrument panel lights.

IntelliBeam System (if equipped): To enable the automatic high-beam system, press the b button on the turn signal lever when it is dark outside and the exterior lamp control is in AUTO or 5. The system will automatically switch between high and low beams based on traffic conditions.

Fog Lamps (if equipped): Press # to turn the fog lamps on or off. The ignition and parking lamps or headlamps must be on for the fog lamps to work.

The infotainment system on your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 uses several finger gestures:

• Touch/Tap: Used to select an icon or option.

• Touch and Hold: Can be used to start another gesture, or to move or delete an application icon on the Home Page.

• Drag: Used to move applications on the Home Page or pan the map. Hold and move an item along the display.

• Fling or Swipe: Used to scroll through a list, pan the map, or change page views by moving a finger rapidly up, down, right, or left on the display.

• Spread: Used to zoom in on a map or web page. Place your finger and thumb together on the display, then move them apart.

• Pinch: Used to zoom out on a map or web page. Place your finger and thumb apart on the display, then move them together.

To pair a Bluetooth phone, the vehicle must be parked. Follow these steps:

1. Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.

2. On the infotainment system’s Home Page, touch the Phone icon.

3. Touch Phones at the top of the display, then touch Add Phone.

4. Select the vehicle name that appears in your phone’s Bluetooth settings list.

5. Confirm that the six-digit code shown on the infotainment display matches the code on your phone, and accept the connection on both devices.

6. If prompted, allow access to your phone book and contacts.

Once paired, the phone will show under “Connected” in the phone list.

To use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto:

1. For Android Auto, download the Android Auto app to your smartphone from the Google Play store. No app is required for Apple CarPlay.

2. Connect your phone to a USB data port using a high-quality, preferably factory-provided, USB cable.

3. The first time you connect, a “Device Projection Privacy Consent” message will appear. Touch Continue to launch.

4. The Apple CarPlay or Android Auto icon on the Home Page will illuminate. It may launch automatically, or you can touch the icon to launch it.

To exit, press the { (Home) button on the center stack. To re-enter, you can press and hold the Home button.

The passenger compartment air filter is located behind the glove box. To replace it:

1. Open the glove box.

2. Disconnect the glove box door damper from the side of the glove box door assembly by squeezing the pivot to release the ring.

3. Squeeze both sides of the glove box bin inward to lower it beyond its normal stops.

4. Remove the two screws securing the filter service door.

5. Press the latches on either side of the service door inward to release it. Open the service door and remove the old filter.

6. Install the new air filter.

7. Close the service door completely and reinstall the screws.

8. Reverse the steps to reinstall the glove box.

Your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 does not need an elaborate break-in, but following these guidelines will help it perform better in the long run:

• For the first 800 km (500 mi), do not drive at any one constant speed, either fast or slow. Do not make full-throttle starts. Avoid downshifting to brake or slow the vehicle.

• For the first 300 km (200 mi), avoid making hard stops. This allows the new brake linings to break in properly.

After the break-in period, engine speed and load can be gradually increased.

To help conserve fuel, your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021 is equipped with a Stop/Start system that may automatically shut off the engine when the brakes are applied and the vehicle is at a complete stop. The tachometer will display “AUTO STOP.” When you release the brake pedal or press the accelerator, the engine will automatically restart.

An Auto Stop may not occur or the engine may auto restart under certain conditions, such as:

• Climate control settings require the engine to run to cool or heat the interior.

• The vehicle battery charge is low.

• The engine is not at the required operating temperature.

• The driver door has been opened.

• The hood is open.

The Driver Mode Control knob is on the center console and allows you to select different driving modes. Rotate the knob to cycle through the available modes. The selected mode’s icon will light up on the knob and a message will appear in the DIC.

Available modes may include:

• Tour Mode (FWD or AWD): Used for normal driving conditions. This is the most fuel-efficient mode.

• AWD Mode (AWD models only): Provides drive torque to all four wheels to improve traction on slippery surfaces.

• Snow Mode (FWD models only): Improves acceleration on snow and ice-covered roads.

• Off-Road Mode (AWD models only): For public off-road recreational driving.

• Tow/Haul Mode (if equipped): Assists when towing or hauling a heavy load by changing transmission shift patterns and turning on AWD if equipped.

The cruise control buttons are on the steering wheel.

• 5 (On/Off): Press to turn the cruise control system on or off.

• -SET: Press briefly to set the speed and activate cruise control, or press to decrease speed if already active.

• +RES: Press briefly to resume a previously set speed, or press to increase speed if already active.

• *: Press to disengage cruise control without erasing the set speed from memory.

To set a speed, press 5, accelerate to the desired speed (above 40 km/h or 25 mph), and then press and release -SET. Remove your foot from the accelerator. To cancel cruise control, step lightly on the brake pedal or press *.

If equipped, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) allows you to set a cruise speed and a following gap from a vehicle detected ahead. The ACC buttons are on the steering wheel.

• J (On/Off): Press to turn the ACC system on or off.

• [ (Gap Setting): Press to select the following gap (Far, Medium, or Near).

• -SET: Press to set the speed and activate ACC, or to decrease the set speed.

• +RES: Press to resume the set speed, or to increase the set speed.

• *: Press to disengage ACC without erasing the speed from memory.

When a slower-moving vehicle is detected ahead, ACC will adjust your vehicle’s speed to maintain the selected following gap, applying limited braking if necessary. If no vehicle is detected, ACC functions like regular cruise control.

To get an accurate reading, check the oil when the engine is cold and the vehicle is on level ground.

1. Park the vehicle on level ground. For the most accurate reading, wait at least two hours after the engine has been turned off. If that is not possible, wait at least 15 minutes if the engine is warm.

2. Locate the engine oil dipstick, which has a loop handle.

3. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with a clean paper towel or cloth.

4. Push the dipstick back in all the way.

5. Remove it again, keeping the tip down, and check the oil level.

The oil level should be within the cross-hatched area at the tip of the dipstick. If the level is below this area, add 1 L (1 qt) of the recommended oil and recheck the level.

Reset the Engine Oil Life System whenever the engine oil is changed. There are two methods:

Method 1 (Using DIC Controls):

1. Display “REMAINING OIL LIFE” on the Driver Information Center (DIC) menu.

2. Press and hold the V button on the steering wheel controls for several seconds. “REMAINING OIL LIFE 100%” will be displayed when the system is reset.

Method 2 (Using Accelerator Pedal):

1. Place the ignition in Service Mode (with the vehicle off and brake pedal not applied, press and hold ENGINE START/STOP for more than five seconds).

2. Display “REMAINING OIL LIFE” on the DIC.

3. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If the display changes to 100%, the system is reset.

If the battery has run down, use another vehicle and jumper cables to start your GMC TERRAIN DENALI 2021. Ensure the other vehicle has a 12-volt battery with a negative ground system.

1. Position the two vehicles so they are not touching.

2. Turn off the ignition and all lights and accessories in both vehicles.

3. Set the parking brake firmly.

4. Open the cover on the remote positive (+) terminal on your vehicle’s engine compartment.

5. Connect one end of the red positive (+) cable to the positive (+) terminal on the discharged battery.

6. Connect the other end of the red positive (+) cable to the positive (+) terminal of the good battery.

7. Connect one end of the black negative (–) cable to the negative (–) terminal of the good battery.

8. Connect the other end of the black negative (–) cable to the negative (–) grounding stud for the discharged battery (located to the left of the windshield washer fluid reservoir).

9. Start the engine in the vehicle with the good battery and let it run for at least four minutes.

10. Try to start the vehicle with the dead battery.

To remove the cables, reverse the sequence exactly.

If a tire goes flat, find a level place to change the tire. Follow these steps:

1. Set the parking brake firmly and put the transmission in P (Park). Turn off the engine.

2. Access the spare tire, jack, and tools from under the rear cargo floor.

3. Use the wheel wrench to loosen all the wheel nuts on the flat tire, but do not remove them yet.

4. Position the jack lift head at the jack location nearest the flat tire, indicated by a notch in the body side sheet metal. Ensure the notches in the jack align with the pinch weld flange.

5. Raise the vehicle by turning the jack handle clockwise until the tire is clear of the ground.

6. Remove the wheel nuts and the flat tire.

7. Remove any rust or dirt from the wheel bolts and mounting surfaces.

8. Place the compact spare tire on the wheel-mounting surface.

9. Reinstall the wheel nuts and tighten each nut by hand until the wheel is held against the hub.

10. Lower the vehicle by turning the jack handle counterclockwise.

11. Tighten the wheel nuts firmly with the wheel wrench in a crisscross sequence.

12. Store the flat tire, jack, and tools properly. The wheel nuts should be tightened with a torque wrench to the proper specification as soon as possible.

Spark plug gaps are preset by the manufacturer. Re-gapping the spark plug is not recommended and can damage the spark plug.
