The identification plate for the FRI-JADO BS10-I can be found on the outside of the machine and contains the following data:

• Name of the supplier or the manufacturer

• Model

• Serial number

• Year of construction

• Voltage

• Frequency

• Power consumption

When operating the FRI-JADO BS10-I, please adhere to the following safety instructions:

• The outside of the unit can be very hot.

• The maximum load on top of the unit may never exceed 50 kg (110 lbs).

• Be aware of the risk of a slippery floor; spills may cause slippery surfaces and should be cleaned up promptly.

• The unit may only be operated by qualified and authorized persons familiar with the user manual.

• Never cover or remove pictograms, labels, and warning signs on the unit.

• To avoid short-circuiting, never clean the unit using a water hose. Refer to the cleaning instructions in section 8.

• The unit can get very hot during the baking process.

• The unit must be cleaned regularly to ensure proper functioning and prevent fire hazards from overheating, especially the back of the fan plate.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction.

• Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

When moving the FRI-JADO BS10-I, follow these steps:

• Before moving the unit, first switch off the mains voltage by pulling the plug from the wall socket. After that, cool-down the unit for at least ten minutes.

• Disconnect the water supply and drain.

If the FRI-JADO BS10-I will not be used temporarily and will be stored, follow these instructions:

• Clean the unit thoroughly.

• Wrap the unit to protect it from getting dusty.

• Store the unit in a dry, non-condensing environment.

The FRI-JADO BS10-I oven contains infrared elements that heat the air inside. Fans, placed in pairs rotating in opposite directions, spread the hot air evenly across the entire chamber for consistent baking. The fans have 5 different speeds to achieve the correct circulation for each product. To generate steam, water pulses are sprayed by the fans and blown around the elements. The oven features an intelligent control with the ability to store up to 250 programs, each with up to 9 steps. It can automatically apply a baking time correction based on temperature development to ensure consistent results, regardless of the load or whether products were defrosted.

The FRI-JADO BS10-I hot air oven is designed solely for the rising and baking of bread or the heating of snack products. Any other use will not be regarded as intended use. The unit should only be used in perfect technical condition.

The main parts of the FRI-JADO BS10-I are:

When installing and positioning the FRI-JADO BS10-I, please consider the following points:

• Position the unit on a flat and horizontal surface. A temporary inclined plane of a maximum of 5° is allowed.

• Use suitable hoisting, lifting, and transport devices for handling the unit.

• There should be at least 100 mm clearance between the sides and other units or walls.

• Do not place racks with hot products against the side walls of the oven.

• Ensure the opening between the unit and the table surface is free from obstacles for good ventilation.

• If the oven is not connected to an outlet channel, ensure there is at least 500 mm free space above the oven.

• Keep 750 mm free space on the front side of the oven for unloading products.

• The unit is not suited for use in a rainy or very moist environment.

• A water supply connection with an aerated tap valve (3/4 inch screw connection) must be nearby. The water pressure must be between 200 and 500 kPa (2 and 5 bar).

• An open drain with a diameter of at least 40 mm must be nearby.

• The environmental temperature must be between 10 and 30 °C. The unit is not suitable for outside use.

For the first use, you need to clean the FRI-JADO BS10-I and heat it up to remove any oil and metal odors. Follow these steps:

1. Thoroughly clean the outside, removable parts, and accessories with soapsuds, following the cleaning instructions in section 8.

2. Manually clean the interior and the windows using soapy water.

3. Moisten a clean cloth with clean water and wipe the clean parts to remove soapsuds residues, then dry the entire unit.

4. Place the beams for the baking trays. The ideal distance is 100 mm, using the marked round holes in the back wall to hang the guiders.

To remove the metal odour:

1. Press “ON/OFF” for 3 seconds to switch on the unit.

2. Press OK to display the menu.

3. Create a new program with ONE step of 250 °C / 482 °F and a duration of at least 30 minutes (See section 7).

4. Select the “Operate” tab to return to the operation field.

5. Select the new program and press START/PAUSE to start it.

6. Allow the unit to fully execute the program. The unit is now ready for use.

To switch on the unit:

Press the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds.

To switch off the unit:

Press the ON/OFF button for approximately 3 seconds. If the oven temperature is still high (above 80°C), it will first enter a cooling cycle where the fans remain active. The oven will switch off automatically when the temperature drops below 80°C. You can speed up cooling by opening the door.

1. Press the left-hand selection button to go to the ‘operate’ tab.

2. Use the rotation pad or arrow buttons to select the required program from the list. The total duration of the program is shown in minutes next to the program name.

3. Press START/PAUSE to begin the program.

If the pre-heat function is activated for the program, the unit will first pre-heat. The screen will display the current temperature and the set pre-heat temperature. Once the temperature is reached, the screen will show “Load products” and a sound will be activated.

During a running process, you can add extra time by following these steps:

1. Press the power button (ON/OFF).

2. Set the desired amount of extra time by rubbing the rotation pad.

3. Select the arrow pointing right to save the setting.

4. Press OK.

The display will show the extra time, which will be added to the last baking step. The screen always shows the total amount of extra time added.

To interrupt a program temporarily:

1. Press START/PAUSE.

2. Press START/PAUSE again to resume the program.

To interrupt a program definitely:

1. Press STOP/CANCEL.

2. Select “yes” to confirm.

3. Press OK.

To automatically start a program at a pre-determined date and time, the “timer function” in the Manager menu must be set to “YES”. Then, follow these steps:

1. In the operate screen, select the recipe “timer:*off*”.

2. Press OK.

3. Use the arrows to change the setting “timer function” from “OFF” to “ON”.

4. Press OK twice.

5. Use the arrows to select the desired program, and press OK.

6. Select “Set time” and press OK.

7. Set the desired time using the rotation pad. Press OK to switch from hours to minutes, and then to “save”. Press OK to save the time setting.

8. Select “Set date”.

9. Select the desired date using the right and left arrow.

10. Select “store” to save the timer settings and quit the menu.

Once the timer has been set, a flashing clock sign will appear in the top-left of the display.

1. Activate the settings menu by pressing the right selection button.

2. Select “manager” and press OK.

3. If a pin code is set, use the rotation pad to enter the pin code. Press OK or the right arrow to enter the next number. Press OK twice after entering the full code.

The following parameters can be set in the Manager Menu:

1. Activate the program menu (middle selection button). Enter a pin code if required.

2. Select “add program” and press OK.

Enter the program name:

3. Enter characters (“A-Z”, “0-9”, “-“, “blank”) using the rotation pad. Press OK or the right arrow to move to the next position. A name can have up to 11 characters.

4. When done, select “next” and press OK.

Program the baking steps (up to 9):

5. Time duration: Select the cell in the first column. Press OK. Set the duration (1-240 minutes) with the rotation pad. Press OK to close the cell. Entering “-” will make it a pre-heat step.

6. Temperature: Select the cell in the second column. Press OK. Set the temperature with the rotation pad. Press OK.

7. Fan speed: Select the cell in the third column. Press OK. Set the fan speed (off / S / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5). Press OK. (Note: if fan speed is ‘off’, temp cannot be >0°C; if ‘S’, temp cannot be >150°C).

8. Steam mode: Select the fourth column. Set the mode (0, 1, or 2). Press OK.

9. Steam pulses: Select the fifth column. Set the number of steam pulses. Press OK.

10. De-aeration valve: Select the sixth column. Set the position (closed, open, or 5 for opening in the last 5 minutes). Press OK.

11. Keeping Warm (HOLD): To set a HOLD step, skip the time duration or enter “-“. This must be the last step of the program.

Save the program:

12. Select “saving program” and press OK.

Access the program menu using the middle selection button.

To Edit a Program:

1. Select “Edit program”, press OK, choose the program, and press OK.

2. Edit the name or cooking steps as you would when creating a new program.

3. Select “save program” and press OK when finished.

To Delete a Program:

1. Select “delete program”, press OK, choose the program, and press OK.

2. Check the program name, select “yes” to confirm, and press OK. Deletion cannot be undone.

To Test a Program:

1. Select “test program”, press OK, choose the program, and press START/PAUSE or OK.

2. The program will run normally, but settings can be changed during the process. Changes will be stored for the next time the program is executed.

3. To apply changes, press OK, make adjustments, and select “save program”.

To Sort Programs:

1. Select “sorting alphabetically” and press OK.

2. Use the arrows to select “yes” and press OK.

For hygiene and optimal performance, it is advised to maintain a fixed daily cleaning schedule. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning.

The unit is best cleaned shortly after use when it is still lukewarm. Ensure the unit is connected to the water supply.

1. Remove all baking trays and/or racks from the oven.

2. Clean the racks separately with hot water and a suitable cleaning agent (preferably Fri-Jado Clean, except with aluminium trays).

3. Rinse the soap residue from the racks.

4. Sweep crumbs, seeds, and other residue from the oven.

5. Switch on the oven and press the ‘operate’ selection key.

6. Select the program ‘clean’.

7. Press OK. The unit will preheat or cool down to 50°C.

8. Wait for the message ‘Add Cleaner’.

9. Open the door and spray the entire oven interior, including the inside of the window, with a generous amount of Fri-Jado Clean.

10. Close the door.

11. Press OK.

The equipment will now clean itself, which takes approximately 45 minutes. The oven will switch off automatically after completion.

WARNING: Take the power plug from the socket before starting. Avoid bumping the fan blades to prevent imbalance.

1. Remove the two nuts at the top using the key provided with your oven and keep them carefully.

2. Pull the rear wall forward a bit and lift it.

3. Remove the rear wall from the oven.

4. Clean the rear wall with hot water and Fri-Jado clean. For heavy contamination, spray with Fri-Jado Clean, let it soak, and rinse thoroughly.

5. Remove dirt from the bottom of the oven and from the now visible inner rear panel with a soft brush.

6. Replace the rear wall. When placing it back, be sure that the two pins on the bottom of the oven fall into the holes in the lower edge of the rear wall.

DO NOT do the following:

• Do not use scouring pads, steel wool, Scotch-Brite pads, or other abrasive cleaning aids.

• Do not use sharp instruments like knives, forks, or scrapers.

• Do not use oven cleaners.

• Do not attempt to burn-off or bake-off surface contamination.

• Do not operate for more than eight hours without cleaning.

Routine Cleaning (at the end of each cook cycle):

1. Allow surfaces to cool before cleaning.

2. Mix a mild dishwashing soap in warm water and use a soft cloth or sponge to remove grease and food residue.

3. Rinse with clean water and let dry.

4. Wipe a light vegetable oil into the surface to condition it. Do not use vegetable oil cooking spray.

How to Clean Severe Build-up (not for routine cleaning):

1. Mix the following solution: 3 tablespoons of bleach, 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing detergent, and 1 cup of water.

2. Use a sponge or cloth to apply the solution. “Plastic” wash pads for non-stick cookware may be used for severe build-up, but never use steel pads.

3. Thoroughly rinse with clean water and let dry.

4. Condition with vegetable oil.

Before contacting your supplier, you can check if the power supply is working properly (check fuses and differential switch) and if the timer clock has been set properly. Here are some common issues and possible actions:

WARNING: Remove the plug from the wall socket first.

In case of a power failure or a defective door lock, the oven door can be opened manually using two unlocking pins on the top of the oven.

For an oven with an exhaust hood:

1. Slide the filter upward and move it toward you. The filter will come loose from the exhaust hood. You can now see the unlocking pins in the front of the exhaust hood.

To open the door:

2. Pull both unlocking pins upward simultaneously. The door will open.
