FRI-JADO TDR 7+7 (7PLUS7) AC (01) PDF DOCUMENT

The user of the FRI-JADO TDR 7+7 (7PLUS7) AC is fully responsible for abiding by locally prevailing safety rules and regulations. The unit should only be operated by qualified and authorized persons. Always follow these general safety guidelines:

• The outside of the unit can become very hot.

• The maximum load on top of the unit must never exceed 50 kg (110 lbs).

• Spills may cause slippery surfaces; clean them up promptly.

• See installation instructions for grounding requirements.

• Always use the brakes on both front wheels when the unit is stationary.

• To avoid short-circuiting, never clean the unit using a water hose. Refer to the cleaning instructions in section 8 of the PDF.

• During the grilling process, the unit can get very hot.

• When the door is opened, the rotor stops and the heater is de-energized.

• The unit must be cleaned daily after use to ensure proper functioning and prevent fire hazards from overheating.

• The fat collecting container must be emptied regularly to prevent overflow.

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved.

• Children shall not play with the appliance.

• Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

When moving the FRI-JADO TDR 7+7 (7PLUS7) AC, please follow these steps:

1. Before moving, first switch off the mains voltage by pulling the plug from the wall socket and empty the fat collecting container.

2. Allow the unit to cool down for at least ten minutes.

3. Disconnect the water supply and drain.

4. The unit is not suited to pass ledges or obstacles higher than 10 mm (0.4 inch).

5. Always push at the center of the unit. Never push on the top or at the bottom.

6. Ensure the wheels can move freely and do not touch the power lead.

After receiving your FRI-JADO TDR 7+7 (7PLUS7) AC, check its state. In case of damage, store the packing material and contact the transporter within fifteen working days.

Unpacking:

1. Unpack the unit as initiated on the unpacking instruction on the packaging.

2. Remove all remaining packing materials from the unit.

3. Remove the protective foil from the metal parts.

4. Take off the standard accessories.

First Use (Removing Metal Odor):

To remove the metal odor that may appear at first use, the unit must be heated at the maximum temperature for at least half an hour.

1. Press “ON/OFF” for 3 seconds to switch on the unit.

2. Press OK to display the menu.

3. Create a new program containing ONE step of maximum temperature and a duration of at least 30 minutes (See section 7 of the PDF).

4. Select the “Operate” tab to return to the operation field.

5. Select the new program and press START/PAUSE to start.

6. Allow the unit to fully execute the program.

The unit is now ready for use.

Positioning:

• The user must have sufficient freedom of movement to properly operate the unit.

• The ambient temperature must be between 10 and 30 °C (50 and 86 °F).

• Use proper lifting and transport tools to move the unit.

• Place the unit on a flat, solid surface using a spirit level. Mind the weight of the unit.

• The minimum free distance around the unit must be at least 250 mm (10 inch).

• Keep the space between the unit and the surface it is on clear for proper ventilation.

• Keep a distance of at least 500 mm (20 inch) of free space above the unit. Placing the unit under a hood is required.

• If the unit has wheels, the floor must be flat and leveled.

• The products inside the unit must be clearly visible.

• Keep children away from the operating side of the unit.

Installation:

• Secure the unit to the building structure using the tether bracket; refer to the installation manual.

• A water connection with an aerated valve with a ¾ inch thread connection and a minimum continuous flow rate of 15 liters/min must be available. Water pressure must be between 200 and 500 kPa (2 and 5 bar), preferably at least 300kPa (3 bar).

• Use the hose supplied with the machine.

• An open drainage with a diameter of at least 40 mm (1.6 inch) must be available near the unit.

• The unit has a mains plug and must be connected to a wall socket with the proper mains voltage, mounted by a certified electrician.

The control panel consists of a display screen and several buttons. Here is a summary of their functions:

STOP / CANCEL	Interrupting a program (one step back in the menu).
OK BUTTON	Acknowledge a choice.

ROTATION PAD	Used for navigating menu-items and changing settings.

Changing Settings Quickly:

• To increase a value, rub the pad clockwise with one finger.

• To decrease a value, rub the pad counter-clockwise with one finger.

Screen Tabs:

• Operate: “Choose between programs” (See section 5 of the PDF).

• Settings: “Change settings of programs” (See section 6 of the PDF).

• Program: “Creating programs” (See section 7 of the PDF).

When the door is open, press the rotor button to activate the rotor for easy loading. Ensure the rotor is evenly loaded to maintain balance. Do not use empty accessories in the grilling process.

Loading with Meat Forks:

1. Insert one point of the meat fork through the chicken’s chest at the wings’ position. Insert the other point through the drumsticks, including the wings.

2. Leave space between products for even browning.

3. Place the meat forks onto the rotor disks so that the chicken breasts face the operator during grilling.

4. Put the points of the meat forks through the appropriate holes in the rotor disks.

5. Put the other end of the meat forks through the corresponding holes in the opposite rotor disk.

6. To insert remaining meat forks, use the rotor button to move the rotor to the desired position.

Loading with V-shape Spits (Accessory):

1. Place the skewer into the small outside hole on the rotor end plate on your left (as you face the oven). The back of the V-shape spit should point towards you.

2. Fit the other end of the spit into the small corresponding holes on the rotor end plate on your right.

3. Ensure the spit is level by using the correct holes on the rotor end plates.

Loading with Meat Baskets (Accessory):

1. Attach the meat baskets to the appropriate pins.

2. Ensure the rotor is evenly loaded so the mass of the products is evenly spread.

3. Make sure no meat parts are sticking out of the baskets.

Loading with Two Different Accessories:

When using two different accessories simultaneously, always fill the rotor with ONE accessory fewer than the maximum allowed quantity. Place accessories of the same type consecutively. After loading, make at least ONE full rotation to check that the rotor can spin without obstructions.

WARNING: After grilling, the interior of the unit and the glass panes are very hot. Always use oven gloves when taking out meat forks or other accessories.

Taking out Meat Forks:

1. Hold the meat fork firmly.

2. Slightly lift the end with the grips and shift the meat fork in the direction of its points. This releases the meat fork.

3. Take the meat fork at its other end and remove it from the unit.

4. Remove the products from the meat fork.

Taking out the V-shape Spit (Accessory):

You can use the same principle as described for taking out meat forks.

Taking out the Meat Basket (Accessory):

1. Slightly lift both ends of the meat basket.

2. Move the basket towards either the left or right-hand side of the unit to unlock one end.

3. Move the unlocked end towards you and take the basket out of the unit.

Switching On/Off:

Press and hold the ON/OFF button for approximately 3 seconds to switch the unit on or off.

Starting a Program:

1. Press the left-hand selection button to go to the “operate” screen.

2. Select the required program using the rotation pad or arrow buttons. The total duration in minutes is shown next to the program name.

3. Press START/PAUSE.

Pre-heating:

If the pre-heat function is activated for a program, the unit will pre-heat first. The screen will display the current and set temperatures. When the set temperature is reached, the screen shows “Load products,” and a sound is activated.

Adding Extra Time:

1. During an active program, press the power button.

2. Set the extra time by rubbing the rotation pad.

3. Select the arrow pointing right to save the setting.

4. Press OK. The extra time will be added to the last cooking step.

Interrupting a Program:

• Temporarily: Press START/PAUSE. Press it again to resume.

• Definitely: Press STOP/CANCEL, select “yes”, and press OK.

Setting the Timer (Optional):

This allows a program to start automatically. The “timer function” must be enabled in the Manager menu.

1. Select the recipe “timer:*off*”.

2. Press OK.

3. Use the arrows to change “timer function” from “OFF” to “ON”.

4. Press OK twice.

5. Use the arrows to select the desired program and press OK.

6. Select “Set time” and press OK.

7. Set the desired time using the rotation pad, pressing OK to switch between hours, minutes, and save.

8. Select “Set date”.

9. Select the desired date using the right and left arrow.

10. Select “store” to save the settings and quit the menu.

Access the program menu by pressing the middle selection button. If a pin code is set, you will need to enter it.

Adding a Program:

1. Select “add program” and press OK.

2. Enter Program Name: Use the rotation pad to enter characters (A-Z, 0-9, -, blank). A name can have up to 11 characters. Press OK to move to the next character. Press “next” when done.

3. Program Cooking Steps: A table will appear for time and temperature. A program can have up to 9 steps.

• Set Time: Select the time cell, press OK, set the duration (1-240 minutes) with the rotation pad, and press OK to close. Use “PRE” for a pre-heat step.

• Set Temperature: Use the right arrow to select the temperature cell, press OK, set the temperature with the rotation pad, and press OK to close.

4. Save Program: Select “saving program” and press OK.

Editing a Program:

1. Select “Edit program” and choose the program to edit.

2. You can edit the program name or the cooking steps following the same procedure as creating a new program.

Deleting a Program:

1. Select “delete program”.

2. Choose the program to delete and press OK.

3. Confirm the program name matches and select “yes”, then press OK. This action cannot be undone.

Sorting Programs:

1. In the program menu, select “sorting alphabetically”.

2. Press OK, use arrows to select “yes”, and press OK.

WARNING: The appliance must be disconnected from the power supply during manual cleaning or maintenance. Do not use aggressive or abrasive materials. Never use a water hose for cleaning. Wear rubber gloves.

The unit has 3 cleaning programs:

• Quick: For a slightly contaminated unit.

• Daily: For a moderately contaminated unit.

• Deep: A deep clean cycle to be used once per 18 cleaning cycles.

Daily Cleaning (Quick or Daily Program):

1. Remove fallen parts and rough fat residues from the drainage grate.

2. Open the tablet dispenser.

3. Place one cleaning tablet in the bottom compartment (for Quick) or one in both the top and bottom compartments (for Daily). Close the dispenser.

4. Press the left-hand selection button, select CLEAN, and press OK.

5. Select the cleaning level (QUICK or DAILY) and press OK.

6. Select YES (START CLEANING) and press OK, then press START.

7. After the cycle finishes, remove the tablet dispenser, deflector plate, and bottom filter and clean them manually.

8. Inspect the Rotisserie and clean it manually if necessary.

9. Replace the bottom filter and deflector plate.

Deep Cleaning:

WARNING: Before using the Deep Clean Cartridge, first start the daily clean cycle. Doing otherwise will clog the filters.

1. Take the cartridge and cartridge holder out of their containers.

2. Open the Rotisserie door and hang the cartridge holder on the inner door glass.

3. Unscrew the cap of the cartridge. Do not punch the seal.

4. Place the cartridge upside down in the holder and close the door.

5. Press the left-hand selection button, select CLEAN, and press OK.

6. Select the cleaning level DEEP and press OK.

7. Select YES (start cleaning) and press OK, then press START.

8. When finished, remove the cartridge. The holder can remain.

9. Inspect the Rotisserie and clean the filters manually if needed.

The Manager menu is used to set key parameters. Access it through the ‘settings’ tab. A pin code may be required.

Before contacting your supplier, check if the power supply is working properly (check fuses and differential switch) and if the timer clock has been properly set.
