For optimal performance of your EPSON EB-E10 projector, follow these placement guidelines:

• Surface: Place the projector on a sturdy, level surface. If you are using a ceiling mount, ensure it is installed correctly to prevent it from falling.

• Ventilation: Leave plenty of space around and under the projector for ventilation. Do not place it on top of or next to anything that could block the air vents. Do not cover the air intake or exhaust vents, as this can cause internal temperature to rise and lead to a fire.

• Positioning: Place the projector so it squarely faces the screen, not at an angle. For the best quality images, adjust the installation position to achieve the correct image size and shape before using keystone correction controls.

• Environment: Avoid locations with high levels of dust, humidity, smoke, or steam. Do not install in locations where salt damage or corrosive gas could occur. These environments can damage the projector’s case and cause it to malfunction or fall from a mount.

You can set up or install your EPSON EB-E10 projector in the following ways:

• Front/Rear: You can place the projector on a table in front of or behind the screen. For rear projection, you will need a translucent screen.

• Front Ceiling/Rear Ceiling: You can install the projector on a ceiling mount in front of or behind the screen.

After you have positioned the projector, you must select the correct Projection option in the projector’s Extended menu to orient the image correctly.

Follow these steps to connect your EPSON EB-E10 projector to a computer for VGA video and audio:

1. Connect one end of a VGA computer cable to your computer’s monitor port.

2. Connect the other end of the VGA cable to a Computer port on the projector.

3. Tighten the screws on the VGA connector to secure it.

4. To play sound through the projector’s speaker, connect a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack audio cable to your computer’s headphone or audio-out jack.

5. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the Audio port that corresponds to the Computer port you are using.

If your computer meets the system requirements, you can send video and audio to your EPSON EB-E10 projector through a USB port using the USB Display function. Follow these steps:

1. Connect a USB cable to the projector’s USB-B port.

2. Connect the other end of the cable to any available USB port on your computer. Do not use a USB hub.

3. Turn on the projector and your computer.

4. The first time you connect, you will be prompted to install the Epson USB Display software. Follow the on-screen instructions:

• Windows: Select Run EMP_UDSE.EXE in the dialog box.

• Mac: The Epson USB Display setup folder will appear. Select USB Display Installer and follow the instructions.

5. Do not disconnect the USB cable or turn off the projector until the software installation is complete and the projector displays an image from your computer.

To connect your EPSON EB-E10 projector to a computer or video source with an HDMI port, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the video source is turned off before connecting to avoid damaging the projector.

2. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to your computer’s or video device’s HDMI output port.

3. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the projector’s HDMI port.

If you have problems with audio through the HDMI connection, you can connect a separate 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack audio cable from your device’s audio out port to the projector’s corresponding Audio port. You will then need to select the correct audio input port in the projector’s Extended > A/V Settings > Audio Settings menu.

To connect your EPSON EB-E10 projector to a device with a composite video output, follow these steps:

1. Using an RCA-style A/V cable, connect the cable with the yellow connector to your video source’s yellow video output port.

2. Connect the other end of the yellow cable to the projector’s Video port.

3. To play sound, connect the red and white audio connectors to your video source’s audio-out ports.

4. Connect the other end of the red and white audio cables to the projector’s L-Audio-R ports.

To enhance the sound from your presentation, you can connect your EPSON EB-E10 projector to external self-powered speakers. Note that the projector’s built-in speaker is disabled when external speakers are connected.

1. Make sure your computer or video source is connected to the projector with both audio and video cables as necessary.

2. Locate the appropriate cable to connect your external speakers, such as a stereo mini-jack-to-pin-jack cable.

3. Connect one end of the cable to your external speakers as necessary.

4. Connect the stereo mini-jack end of the cable to your projector’s Audio Out port.

You can then control the volume using the projector’s remote control.

The remote control for your EPSON EB-E10 projector uses two AA batteries. Follow these steps to install or replace them:

1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the remote control.

2. If replacing old batteries, remove them first. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

3. Insert the two AA batteries with the + and – ends facing as shown inside the battery holder.

4. Replace the battery cover and press it down until it clicks into place.

The remote control for the EPSON EB-E10 projector can be used from almost anywhere in the room. For best results, aim the remote control at the projector’s receivers within the following distance and angles:

• Distance: Up to 6 meters (approx. 20 feet).

• Vertical Angle (front receiver): Within 30 degrees up or down.

• Vertical Angle (rear receiver): Within 15 degrees up or down.

Avoid using the remote control in conditions with bright fluorescent lights or in direct sunlight, as the projector may not respond to commands. If you are not going to use the remote control for a long time, remove the batteries.

Your EPSON EB-E10 projector uses an A/V Mute slide lever to cover and uncover the lens.

• To open the lens cover: Slide the A/V Mute slide lever until it clicks. This will start the projection.

• To cover the lens: Close the A/V Mute slide lever. This will temporarily turn off the projected image and sound.

Note that the projector’s power automatically turns off 30 minutes after A/V Mute is enabled. You can disable this feature in the ECO > Lens Cover Timer menu.

Turning On the Projector:

1. Connect the power cord to the projector’s power inlet and plug it into an electrical outlet. The power indicator will turn blue, indicating standby mode.

2. Open the projector’s lens cover.

3. Press the power button on the control panel or remote control. The projector beeps, and the status indicator flashes blue as it warms up. When it stops flashing and turns solid blue, the projector is ready.

4. Turn on your connected computer or video source.

Turning Off the Projector:

1. Press the power button on the control panel or remote control.

2. A shutdown confirmation screen appears. Press the power button again to confirm. (To cancel, press any other button.)

3. The projected image disappears, the projector beeps twice, and the status indicator turns off. With Epson’s Instant Off technology, there is no cool-down period needed.

4. To transport or store the projector, wait until the power indicator is solid blue and the status indicator is off, then unplug the power cord.

5. Close the projector’s lens cover.

The Home screen feature on your EPSON EB-E10 allows you to easily select an image source and access useful functions. You can display it by pressing the [Home] button on the control panel or remote control. It also appears automatically when you turn on the projector if no signal is being input.

The Home screen displays the following options:

• Source List: A list of available input sources (HDMI, Computer, etc.). Select a source and press [Enter] to project it.

• Help Screen: Displays a help menu for common issues.

• Menu: Opens the projector’s main settings menu.

• Keystone Correction: Opens the tool to correct the shape of an unevenly rectangular image.

• Color Mode: Allows you to select a color mode for the image.

The Home screen disappears after 10 minutes of inactivity.

To change the language for the projector’s menus and messages, follow these steps:

1. Turn on the projector.

2. Press the [Menu] button on the control panel or remote control.

3. Select the Extended menu and press [Enter].

4. Select the Language setting and press [Enter].

5. Select the language you want to use from the list and press [Enter].

6. Press [Menu] or [Esc] to exit the menus.

Depending on how you have positioned your EPSON EB-E10 projector, you may need to change the projection mode to orient the image correctly. The available modes are:

• Front: Default mode for projecting from a table in front of the screen.

• Front/Ceiling: Flips the image top-to-bottom for projecting from a ceiling mount.

• Rear: Flips the image horizontally for projecting from behind a translucent screen.

• Rear/Ceiling: Flips the image top-to-bottom and horizontally for ceiling-mounted rear projection.

To change the projection mode using the menus:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press the [Menu] button.

3. Select the Extended menu and press [Enter].

4. Select Projection and press [Enter].

5. Select the projection mode you need and press [Enter].

6. Press [Menu] or [Esc] to exit.

You can display a test pattern on your EPSON EB-E10 to adjust the projected image without connecting a computer or video device. Follow these steps:

1. Turn on the projector.

2. Press the [Menu] button on the control panel or remote control.

3. Select the Settings menu and press [Enter].

4. Select Pattern > Test Pattern, and press [Enter]. The test pattern is displayed.

5. Adjust the image as necessary (e.g., focus, image shape).

6. Press [Esc] to clear the test pattern.

If you are projecting from a flat surface and the image from your EPSON EB-E10 is too high or low, you can adjust its height using the adjustable feet:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. To adjust the front foot, pull up on the foot release lever and lift the front of the projector to the desired height. You can adjust the position up to approximately 12 degrees.

3. Release the lever to lock the foot in place.

4. If the image is tilted horizontally, rotate the rear feet to adjust their height. Rotate one foot to extend it and the other to retract it until the image is level.

If the image is unevenly rectangular after adjusting the height, you will need to correct the image shape using the keystone correction features.

If the projected image from your EPSON EB-E10 is unevenly rectangular (trapezoidal), you can correct it using several methods. Note that after correction, the image may be slightly smaller.

Using Keystone Buttons:

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Press one of the keystone adjustment buttons on the control panel to display the Keystone adjustment screen.

3. The screen will show options for V-Keystone (vertical) and H-Keystone (horizontal).

4. Press the keystone buttons to adjust the image shape until it is rectangular. You can correct images up to 30º right, left, up, or down.

Using Quick Corner:

For more precise adjustments, you can use the Quick Corner setting to adjust each corner of the image individually.

1. Press the [Menu] button.

2. Select the Settings menu and press [Enter].

3. Select Keystone and press [Enter].

4. Select Quick Corner and press [Enter].

5. An area selection screen appears. Use the arrow buttons to select the corner of the image you want to adjust, then press [Enter].

6. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the position of that corner. Press [Enter] to return to the area selection screen.

7. Repeat for any other corners that need adjustment.

8. When you are finished, press [Esc].

To ensure a sharp and clear image from your EPSON EB-E10 projector, you need to adjust the focus.

1. Turn on the projector and display an image.

2. Rotate the focus ring on the projector, located near the lens, until the image is in sharp focus.

When multiple image sources are connected to your EPSON EB-E10 projector, you can switch between them using one of the following methods:

• Using the Source Search button: Press the [Source Search] button on the control panel or remote control. The projector will cycle through the available input sources until you see the image you want.

• Using the dedicated source buttons: Press the button for the source you want on the remote control (e.g., [HDMI], [Computer]).

• Using the Home Screen: Press the [Home] button on the control panel or remote control, then use the arrow buttons to select the source you want from the list on the left side of the screen and press [Enter].

If no image signal is detected for a source, a “No Signal” message will be displayed.

You can change the aspect ratio (the width-to-height ratio) of the displayed image on your EPSON EB-E10 projector to fit your screen or content.

1. Turn on the projector and switch to the image source you want to adjust.

2. Press the [Aspect] button on the remote control.

3. The shape and size of the displayed image change, and the name of the new aspect ratio appears briefly on the screen.

4. To cycle through the available aspect ratios for your input signal, press the [Aspect] button repeatedly.

The available aspect modes for the EPSON EB-E10 (XGA resolution) are:

The EPSON EB-E10 projector offers different color modes to provide optimum brightness, contrast, and color for various viewing environments and image types.

Changing the Color Mode:

1. Turn on the projector and switch to the image source you want to use.

2. Press the [Color Mode] button on the remote control. The name of the Color Mode appears briefly on the screen as the image appearance changes.

3. Press the [Color Mode] button repeatedly to cycle through the available modes.

The available color modes are:

You can also set the Color Mode and other image quality settings (like Brightness, Contrast, etc.) in the projector’s Image menu.

You can control the volume of the EPSON EB-E10 projector’s internal speaker or any connected external speakers.

1. Turn on the projector and start a presentation.

2. To lower or raise the volume, press the [Volume] buttons on the control panel or remote control. A volume gauge appears on the screen to show the current level.

You must adjust the volume separately for each connected input source. For more precise control, you can select Volume in the projector’s Settings menu.

Caution: Do not start a presentation at a high volume setting, as sudden loud noises may cause hearing loss. Always lower the volume before powering off.

You can temporarily turn off the projected image and sound from your EPSON EB-E10 if you want to redirect your audience’s attention during a presentation. Any video or sound action from the source will continue to run in the background.

• Press the [A/V Mute] button on the remote control to temporarily stop projection and mute any sound.

• To turn the image and sound back on, press the [A/V Mute] button again.

You can also stop projection using the A/V Mute slide lever on the projector itself. The projector’s power will automatically turn off after 30 minutes of A/V Mute being enabled, unless this feature is disabled in the ECO menu.

You can temporarily stop the action in a video or computer presentation and keep the current image on the screen. The sound and video action from the source will continue to run in the background.

• Press the [Freeze] button on the remote control to stop the video action and hold the current image on the screen.

• To restart the video action in progress, press the [Freeze] button again.

You can digitally zoom in or zoom out of the projected image using the [E-Zoom] buttons on the remote control of your EPSON EB-E10 projector.

Zooming In:

1. Press the [E-Zoom] + button on the remote control. The image is enlarged, focusing on the center.

2. You can use the following buttons to adjust the zoomed image:

• Press the [E-Zoom] + button repeatedly to zoom further into the image (up to four times).

• Use the arrow buttons to pan around the zoomed image.

• Press the [E-Zoom] – button to zoom out.

• Press the [Default] button to return to the original image size.

Zooming Out:

1. Press the [E-Zoom] – button on the remote control. The projected image is reduced.

2. You can use the following buttons to adjust the zoomed-out image:

• Press the [E-Zoom] – button repeatedly to zoom further out (down to 50%).

• Use the arrow buttons to move the zoomed-out image within the projection area.

• Press the [E-Zoom] + button to zoom in.

• Press the [Default] button to return to the original image size.

You can save a custom image (such as a company logo) on your EPSON EB-E10 projector and set it to display when turning on the projector, when there is no input signal, or when A/V Mute is active. This can also help deter theft.

Saving a User’s Logo:

1. Display the image you want to project as the user’s logo.

2. Press the [Menu] button, select the Extended menu, and press [Enter].

3. Select User’s Logo > Start Setting and press [Enter]. You will see a prompt asking if you want to use the displayed image.

4. Select Yes and press [Enter].

5. Check the displayed image, and then select Yes again to save it as the user’s logo. A completion message is displayed.

6. Press [Esc] to exit the message screen.

Setting When to Display the Logo:

1. In the Extended menu, select Display and press [Enter].

2. Select when you want the logo to appear:

• To display it when there is no input signal, set Display Background to Logo.

• To display it when you turn the projector on, set Startup Screen to On.

• To display it when you press the [A/V Mute] button, set A/V Mute to Logo.

To prevent changes to the logo, you can enable User’s Logo Protection in the password protection menu.

You can save the currently projected image as a custom User Pattern to aid in presentations, in addition to the pre-registered patterns like ruled lines and grids. Note that once you save a User Pattern, it cannot be returned to the factory default.

1. Project the image you want to save as the User Pattern.

2. Press the [Menu] button on the control panel or remote control.

3. Select the Settings menu and press [Enter].

4. Select Pattern > User Pattern and press [Enter]. You will see a prompt asking if you want to use the displayed image as a User Pattern.

5. Select Yes and press [Enter]. You will see another prompt asking you to confirm.

6. Select Yes and press [Enter]. You will see a completion message confirming the pattern has been saved.

Note that adjustments such as Keystone or E-Zoom are temporarily canceled when you select User Pattern, and you cannot save images protected by HDCP technology.

You can lock the buttons on the control panel of your EPSON EB-E10 to prevent anyone from using them. The projector can still be operated using the remote control.

Locking the Buttons:

1. Press the [Menu] button on the control panel or remote control.

2. Select the Settings menu and press [Enter].

3. Select Lock Setting > Control Panel Lock, and press [Enter].

4. Select one of the following lock types and press [Enter]:

• Full Lock: Locks all of the projector’s buttons.

• Partial Lock: Locks all buttons except the power button.

5. A confirmation prompt appears. Select Yes and press [Enter]. The Control Panel Lock setting takes effect.

Unlocking the Buttons:

To unlock the buttons, you can either:

• Hold down the [Enter] button on the control panel for 7 seconds. A message is displayed and the lock is released.

• Or, navigate to the Control Panel Lock setting in the menu using the remote control and select Off.

You can install a security cable on your EPSON EB-E10 projector to deter theft.

• Kensington Security System: Use the security slot on the projector to attach a Kensington Microsaver Security system.

• Wire Cable: Use the security cable attachment point on the base of the projector to attach a wire cable and secure it to a room fixture or heavy furniture. See the documentation supplied with the wire lock for locking instructions.

You can use the projector’s menus to adjust the settings that control how your EPSON EB-E10 works.

1. Press the [Menu] button on the control panel or remote control to display the menu screen.

2. Press the up or down arrow buttons to move through the main menus listed on the left (e.g., Image, Signal, Settings).

3. To change settings in the currently displayed menu, press [Enter].

4. Press the up or down arrow buttons to move through the settings.

5. Change the settings using the buttons listed on the bottom of the menu screens.

6. When you finish changing settings on a menu, press [Esc] to go back to the previous level.

7. To exit the menus completely, press the [Menu] or [Esc] button.

To return all menu settings to their default values, select the Reset option in the corresponding menu.

The ECO menu lets you customize projector functions to save power.

You can display information about your EPSON EB-E10 projector and its current input source by viewing the Info menu. You cannot change any settings in this menu.

In the Info > Projector Info menu, you can view the following:

You can reset most of the EPSON EB-E10 projector’s settings to their default values using the Reset menu.

• Reset Lamp Hours: Resets the projector’s lamp usage timer to zero. Only do this when you replace the lamp.

• Reset All Config: Resets most of the projector settings to their default values.

The following settings cannot be reset using the Reset All Config option:

• E-Zoom

• User’s Logo

• Display Background *

• Startup Screen *

• A/V Mute *

• Language

• Lamp Hours

• Password

* Only when the User’s Logo Protection setting is On in the Password Protection setting menu.

You can copy menu settings from one EPSON EB-E10 projector to another of the same model by connecting it to a computer with a USB cable (Batch Setup).

Saving Settings from a Projector to a Computer:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the projector.

2. Connect a USB cable to the computer’s USB port and to the projector’s USB-B port.

3. Hold down the [Esc] button on the remote control or control panel and connect the power cord to the projector.

4. When all of the projector’s indicators turn on, release the [Esc] button. The computer recognizes the projector as a removable disk.

5. Open the removable disk icon or folder, and save the batch setup file (PJCONFDATA.bin) to your computer.

6. Eject the USB device and disconnect the USB cable. The projector turns off.

Copying Settings from a Computer to a Projector:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the projector you want to copy settings to.

2. Connect the USB cable from the computer to the projector’s USB-B port.

3. Hold down the [Menu] button on the remote control or control panel and connect the power cord to the projector.

4. When all indicators turn on, release the [Menu] button. The projector is recognized as a removable disk.

5. Copy the batch setup file (PJCONFDATA.bin) you saved to your computer to the top-level folder of the removable disk.

6. Eject the USB device and disconnect the USB cable. The indicators will start flashing as the settings are written. When writing is finished, the projector turns off.

Clean the projector’s lens periodically, or whenever you notice dust or smudges on the surface.

• To remove dust or smudges, gently wipe the lens with lens-cleaning paper.

• To remove stubborn smudges, moisten a soft, lint-free cloth with lens cleaner and gently wipe the lens. Do not spray any liquid directly on the lens.

Warning: Do not use a lens cleaner that contains flammable gas. The high heat generated by the projector lamp may cause a fire.

Attention: Do not use glass cleaner or any harsh materials, and do not subject the lens to any impacts as it could be damaged. Do not use canned air, as the gases may leave a flammable residue.

Before cleaning the projector case, turn off the EPSON EB-E10 projector and unplug the power cord.

• To remove dust or dirt, use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.

• To remove stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth moistened with water and mild soap. Do not spray liquid directly on the projector.

Attention: Do not use wax, alcohol, benzene, paint thinner, or other chemicals to clean the projector case, as these can cause damage. Do not use canned air, as the gases may leave a flammable residue.

Regular maintenance of the air filter is important to prevent your EPSON EB-E10 projector from overheating. Clean the filter when a message appears or if it gets dusty.

Cleaning the Air Filter and Vents:

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.

2. Use a small vacuum designed for computers or a very soft brush to gently remove dust from the air filter and vents.

3. If dust is difficult to remove or the filter is damaged, it should be replaced.

Replacing the Air Filter:

You need to replace the air filter if it is torn or damaged, or if a message telling you to replace it appears after cleaning.

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.

2. Open the air filter cover.

3. Pull the old air filter out of the projector.

4. Place the new air filter (model ELPAF32) in the projector as shown in the manual and push gently until it clicks into place.

5. Close the air filter cover.

Replace the lamp as soon as possible when the projected image gets darker, image quality declines, or a lamp replacement message appears.

Replacing the Lamp (Model ELPLP97):

1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.

2. Allow the lamp to cool for at least one hour to avoid injury.

3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw securing the lamp cover.

4. Slide the lamp cover out and lift it off.

5. Loosen the screws securing the lamp to the projector. These screws do not come all the way out.

6. Grip the raised section of the lamp and carefully remove it.

7. Gently insert the new lamp. If it does not fit easily, make sure it is facing the correct way. Do not touch the glass on the lamp assembly.

8. Push the lamp in firmly and tighten the screws to secure it.

9. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw to secure it.

Resetting the Lamp Timer:

After replacing the lamp, you must reset the lamp timer to clear the replacement message and accurately monitor the new lamp’s usage. Do not reset the timer if you have not replaced the lamp.

1. Turn on the projector.

2. Press the [Menu] button, select the Reset menu, and press [Enter].

3. Select Reset Lamp Hours and press [Enter].

4. A confirmation prompt appears. Select Yes and press [Enter].

5. Press [Menu] or [Esc] to exit the menus.

The status and color of the indicators on your EPSON EB-E10 projector can help you diagnose problems. The main indicators are Power, Status, Lamp, and Temp.

You can use the built-in Help system on your EPSON EB-E10 projector to solve common problems.

1. Turn on the projector.

2. Press the [Home] button on the control panel or remote control.

3. Select Help on the Home screen. The Help menu is displayed with a list of common problems (e.g., “The image is small”, “The color tone is unusual”).

4. Use the up and down arrow buttons to highlight the problem you want to solve.

5. Press [Enter] to view the potential solutions.

6. When you are finished, press [Esc] to select another problem, or press [Menu] to exit the help system.

If no image appears from your EPSON EB-E10 projector, try the following solutions:

• Make sure the lens cover is open all the way.

• Press the [A/V Mute] button on the remote control to see if the image was temporarily turned off.

• Make sure all necessary cables are securely connected and that the projector and connected video sources are powered on.

• Press the projector’s power button to wake it from standby or sleep mode.

• Check if the projector’s control panel buttons are locked. If so, unlock them or use the remote control.

• Adjust the Brightness setting in the projector’s Image menu.

• Select High or Medium as the Power Consumption setting in the ECO menu.

If the “No Signal” message appears on your EPSON EB-E10 projector, try the following solutions:

• Press the [Source Search] button and wait a few seconds for an image to appear.

• Turn on the connected computer or video source, and press play if necessary.

• Check that all cables required for projection are securely connected.

• If projecting from a laptop, make sure it is set up to display on an external monitor. You may need to press a function key combination (e.g., Fn + F-key with a monitor icon) to toggle the display output.

• If necessary, turn off the projector and the connected device, and then turn them back on.

• If you are projecting from an HDMI source, try using a shorter HDMI cable.

If only a partial image appears from your EPSON EB-E10 projector, try these solutions:

• If using a VGA cable, press the [Auto] button on the remote control to optimize the image signal.

• Try adjusting the image Position setting in the projector’s Signal menu.

• Press the [Aspect] button on the remote control to select a different aspect ratio.

• Change the Resolution setting in the projector’s Signal menu to match the connected device.

• If you used E-Zoom, press the [Default] button to return to the original image size.

• Check your computer’s display settings to ensure it is not in a dual display or extended desktop mode that would cause only part of the desktop to be sent to the projector.

If there is no sound or the volume is too low or high from your EPSON EB-E10 projector, try the following solutions:

• Adjust the projector’s volume settings using the volume buttons.

• Press the [A/V Mute] button on the remote control to resume audio if it was temporarily stopped.

• Check your computer or video source to make sure its volume is turned up and the audio output is set correctly.

• Check the audio cable connections between the projector and your video source.

• If using the USB Display function, turn on the “Output audio from the projector” setting in the Epson USB Display Settings program on your computer.

• If you do not hear sound from an HDMI source, set the connected device to PCM output.

• If connecting to a Mac with an HDMI cable, make sure your Mac model supports audio through the HDMI port. If not, you will need to connect a separate audio cable.
