The CASIO MS-6NC features a Two-Way Power System, which combines a solar cell and a button battery. Under normal lighting conditions, the calculator is powered by the solar cell. In low light, it automatically switches to the battery.

The battery power is used to maintain stored values in memory even when power is off. If the display becomes dim and difficult to read even in complete darkness, it means the battery power is low. Please have the battery replaced by an authorized dealer. Leaving a dead battery in the calculator can lead to malfunctions, so it should be replaced as soon as possible.

Yes, the CASIO MS-6NC has an Auto Power Off function. The calculator will automatically turn off its power after approximately six minutes of inactivity or no key operations.

To set the tax rate on your CASIO MS-6NC, follow these steps:

1. Press the [SET] key until “SET” appears on the display.

2. Press the [TAX RATE] key. The currently set tax rate will be displayed.

3. Enter the new tax rate you wish to set. You can specify a rate up to 8 digits, though only the first six significant digits will be used.

4. Press the [%] (SET) key to finalize and store the new tax rate.

For example, to set the tax rate to 5%:

Press [SET], then [TAX RATE]. Enter 5, then press [%] (SET).

To check the currently set tax rate, simply press [SET] (until “SET” appears) and then press [TAX RATE].

Once you have set a tax rate on your CASIO MS-6NC, you can use the [TAX+] and [TAX-] keys for calculations.

• **To add the tax to a price:** Enter the amount and press [TAX+]. The display will show the amount plus tax.

• **To subtract the tax from a price:** Enter the amount and press [TAX-]. The display will show the amount minus tax.

Example: To calculate the total price of a 100 item with a 5% tax rate.

Enter 100 and press [TAX+]. The result displayed will be 105.
