To establish a wired LAN connection with your CASIO XJ-S400UN projector, use a LAN cable to connect the projector’s LAN port to a network device, such as a router. This allows the projector to be controlled from an external device on the network.

The CASIO XJ-S400UN projector supports several methods for control over a wired LAN:

Web Browser: The projector supports control using a standard computer web browser.

PJLink: The projector supports the PJLink Class1 standard formulated by the Japan Business Machine and Information System Industries Association (JBMIA).

Crestron: The projector supports Crestron Electronics controllers and software, such as RoomView Express®.

AMX: The projector supports AMX controllers and Device Discovery, using PJLink standard commands for control.

The following table shows the PJLink input switching instruction and query parameters and their corresponding input sources for the CASIO XJ-S400UN projector.

When using PJLink with the CASIO XJ-S400UN projector, be aware of the following:

• Image only mute is not supported by the AV mute instruction and AV mute state query.

• The cover open error and filter error are not supported by the error state query.

• A projector name query returns the projector name specified on the Web Service Page.

• A manufacturer name query returns CASIO.

• A device name query returns XJ-F21XN / XJ-F211WN / XJ-UT312WN / XJ-UT352WN / XJ-S400UN / XJ-S400WN.

The password used for the PJLink connection authentication process is the same as the Setup page password on the Web Service Page. You can configure the projector to enable or disable this authentication.

To change the setting, navigate to [Network Settings] -> [Network Settings] -> [PJLINK Authentication] on the Projector’s Setup Menu.

Enable: PJLink connection authentication is enabled. (This is the initial default setting).

Disable: PJLink connection authentication is disabled.

When using a Crestron controller with the CASIO XJ-S400UN projector, you must configure the controller’s IP address and other settings on the projector. These settings are configured on the Crestron Control page, which appears when you click [Other Settings] on the Setup page of the projector’s Web Service Page.

On the Crestron Control page, you must configure the following:

• IP address: Specifies the controller IP address.

• IP ID: Specifies the controller IP ID.

• Port: Specifies the port number being used. This is always 41794.

Enter the applicable information for each item and then click the [Save changes] button to apply the new settings.

You can configure the CASIO XJ-S400UN projector to allow it to be powered on via a wired LAN command from the standby state. To do so, use the [Network Settings] -> [Remote On] option in the projector’s Setup Menu.

• Enable: Power on via LAN is enabled.

• Disable: Power on via LAN is disabled. (This is the initial default setting).

Note that performing an initialization of network settings will cause this setting to change back to “Disabled”. If you operate the projector using a wired LAN setting, be sure to change this setting back to “Enabled” after initialization.

The CASIO XJ-S400UN projector has the following restrictions when it is turned on from the standby state via a wired LAN command:

• The wired LAN connection will be disconnected for about one minute after the projector is turned on.

• During this one-minute period, even if you send a ping command, no reply will be returned from the projector.

• You cannot operate the projector using PJLink, Crestron, or AMX commands during this time.

• If you get an IP address from a DHCP server automatically, some DHCP servers do not always assign the same IP address. A different IP address may be assigned upon startup. If you do not want a different IP address to be assigned, change the network settings to use a fixed IP address.
