Please adhere to the following safety precautions when operating your BLANCO BRS902X rangehood:

• Take care when the rangehood is operating at the same time as an open fireplace or burner that depends on air from the environment (e.g., gas appliances). The rangehood removes air, and the negative pressure in the environment must not exceed 4Pa (4×10-5 bar) to ensure safe combustion.

• Provide adequate ventilation in the room for safe operation.

• This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.

• Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.

• Ensure the rangehood is cleaned frequently as there is a risk of fire if cleaning is not carried out according to the instructions.

• Do not flambé under the rangehood.

• The exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

The minimum distance between the support surfaces of the cooking pots on the cooker top and the lowest part of the BLANCO BRS902X rangehood must be at least 65 cm.

To mount the BLANCO BRS902X on the lower side of a cupboard or other suitable support, follow these steps:

1. Use 4 screws that are suitable for the cupboard material, using the designated holes on the appliance.

2. When mounting, align the front of the rangehood with the door of the cupboard.

3. Regulate the L wall spacer through the screws marked P.

4. The rear of the appliance must then align with the cupboard.

Warning: Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.

For an extraction setup, the BLANCO BRS902X expels fumes through an outside wall or a duct. You will need to purchase a telescopic pipe and connect it to the flange B.

For optimum performance, please note the following recommendations:

• Ducting carrying the exhaust air should not exceed a length of three (3) metres.

• Use galvanised or similar metal type flue pipe. PVC pipe is not recommended.

• A 90° degree bend in the ducting will cause an efficiency loss of approximately 35%. Additional 90° bends can cause losses of up to 15% per bend.

• Ducting size should always comply with the manufacturer’s specification.

To transform the BLANCO BRS902X from an extraction version to a recirculating one, you need an activated carbon filter. This filter cleans the air in the room.

1. The activated carbon filter is not washable or re-usable and must be substituted at least every 4 months.

2. To install the filter, it must be fitted to the motor in the centre of the fan grille. Twist it by 90 degrees until it is gripped securely. You may need to remove the grill (G) to carry out this operation.

3. The clean air is then returned into the room through a connecting tube passing inside the cupboard and connected to the ring B.

• It is recommended to operate the BLANCO BRS902X prior to cooking and leave it in operation for 15 minutes after cooking is terminated to completely eliminate cooking vapours and odours.

• The proper function of the rangehood depends on the regularity of maintenance, especially for the aluminium grease filters and the active carbon filter (if used).

• Clean the fan and other surfaces of the rangehood regularly using a cloth moistened with a non-abrasive liquid detergent.

• The lighting is designed for use during cooking and not for prolonged general illumination. Prolonged use of the lighting will notably reduce the life of the bulb.

To prevent fire hazards, it is recommended to clean the aluminium filters at a maximum of every 2 months. The filters capture grease particles suspended in the air and are subject to clogging.

Follow these instructions for cleaning:

1. Remove the aluminium filters from the rangehood.

2. Wash them in a solution of water and neutral liquid detergent, leaving them to soak.

3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and leave to dry.

The filters may also be washed in the dishwasher. Note that the aluminium panels may alter in colour after several washes, which is not a cause for complaint or replacement.

The active carbon filters purify the air in a recirculating setup. These filters are not washable nor re-usable and must be replaced at a maximum of every four months. The saturation of the filter depends on the frequency of use, the type of cooking, and how regularly the aluminium grease filters are cleaned.

Only use lamps of the same type and wattage installed on the device.

For Halogen/Incandescent Lamps (Tubolar or Candle type):

Simply unscrew the old bulb and screw in the replacement.

For Halogen Light Replacement (12 volt 20 W Halogen):

1. With a small blade, remove the metal surround holding the glass in place.

2. The lamp can be pulled outward from its socket.

3. Replace the globe with another of the same type.

4. Replace the glass and retaining ring.

The push-button controls function as follows:

• **Push-button A:** On/off switch for the lights.

• **Push-button B:** On/off switch for the cooker hood motor. The appliance switches on at speed level 1. If the hood is on, press this button to decrease the motor speed. To switch the hood off, depress the push-button for 2 seconds (not necessary if already at speed 1).

• **Display C:** Indicates the motor speed level selected and activates the timer.

• **Push-button D:** Switches on the cooker hood and increases the motor speed. Touching the key at the 3rd speed activates the intensive function, which runs for 10 minutes before returning to the original speed. During the intensive function, the display will blink.

• **Key E:** Activates the Timer function.

Pressing Key E activates the Timer. This function times the appliance’s operations for 15 minutes, after which they are switched off. When the Timer is activated, the decimal point on the display will flash. The Timer is deactivated by re-pressing Key E. Please note that the Timer cannot be activated if the intensive speed is functioning.

The “clean air” function is activated by pressing key E for 2 seconds when the appliance is switched off. This function switches the motor on for 10 minutes every hour at the first speed to circulate air.

• During functioning, a rotary movement of the peripheral segments will be visualised on the display.

• After 10 minutes, the motor switches off, and the fixed letter “C” is shown on the display.

• The motor will re-start after 50 minutes for another 10-minute cycle.

• To return to normal functioning, press any key apart from the light key. To deactivate the function completely, press key E.

A flashing display on your BLANCO BRS902X indicates that the filters require maintenance:

• **Anti-grease filter saturation:** When display item C flashes and alternates with the letter F (e.g., 1 and F), the anti-grease filters must be washed.

• **Active charcoal filter saturation:** When display item C flashes and alternates with the letter A (e.g., 1 and A), the active carbon filters must be replaced or washed (depending on the type of filter).

After the clean filter has been positioned correctly, the electronic memory must be reset. To do this, press button A for approximately 5 seconds, until the indication F or A shown on the display C stops flashing.
