Please adhere to the following safety precautions when operating your BLANCO BRS602W rangehood:

General Warnings:

• The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.

• Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.

• Ensure the rangehood is cleaned frequently as there is a risk of fire if cleaning is not carried out according to the instructions.

• Do not flambé under the rangehood.

Operation with other appliances:

• Take care when the rangehood operates simultaneously with an open fireplace or burner that depends on the air in the environment and is supplied by non-electrical energy. The rangehood removes air that a burner or fireplace might need for combustion.

• The negative pressure in the environment must not exceed 4Pa (4×10-5 bar).

• Provide adequate ventilation in the room for safe operation when the rangehood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels.

Installation Warnings:

• The exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

• The regulations concerning the discharge of exhaust air must be fulfilled.

The minimum distance between the support surfaces of the cooking pots on the cooker top and the lowest part of the BLANCO BRS602W rangehood must be at least 65 cm.

The BLANCO BRS602W is a class II appliance, so no earth cable is necessary. The connection to the mains is as follows:

• BROWN = L line

• BLUE = N neutral

If not provided, connect a plug for the electrical load indicated on the description label. Where a plug is provided, the rangehood must be installed so that the plug is easily accessible. In the case of a direct connection to the electrical network, an omnipolar switch with a minimum opening of 3mm between contacts must be placed between the appliance and the network, in line with the electrical load and local standards.

To install the BLANCO BRS602W rangehood, it must be fitted to a cupboard or other suitable support. Follow these steps:

1. Mount the rangehood on the lower side of the cupboard.

2. For fixing, use 4 screws suitable for the cupboard, using the holes indicated in Fig. 1.

3. When mounting, align the front of the rangehood to the door of the cupboard.

4. Regulate the L wall spacer through the screws marked P (Fig. 2).

5. The rear of the appliance must then align with the cupboard.

For a ducted installation, the BLANCO BRS602W expels fumes through an outside wall or duct. You will need to purchase a telescopic pipe in accordance with the standards in use and connect it to flange B (Fig. 3-4).

For optimal performance, please follow these recommendations:

1. Ducting carrying the exhaust air should not exceed a length of three (3) metres.

2. It is recommended to use galvanised or similar metal type flue pipe. PVC pipe is not recommended.

3. Ducting with a 90° degree bend will cause a loss in efficiency of approximately 35%. Additional 90° degree bends can cause losses of up to 15% per bend.

4. Ducting size should always comply with the manufacturer’s specification.

To transform the rangehood from the extraction version to the recirculating version, you need an activated carbon filter, which cleans the air in the room. This filter is not washable or re-usable and must be substituted at least every 4 months.

To install the filter:

1. Remove the grill (G) as shown in Fig. 2.

2. The filter must be fitted to the motor in the centre of the fan grille by twisting it by 90 degrees until it is securely gripped.

The clean air is then returned into the room through a connecting tube passing inside the cupboard and connected to the ring B (Fig.1).

It is recommended to operate the appliance prior to cooking. After cooking is terminated, it is recommended to leave the appliance in operation for 15 minutes to completely eliminate cooking vapours and odours.

To prevent fire hazards, it is recommended to clean the aluminium filters at a maximum of every 2 months. Follow these instructions:

1. Remove the aluminium filters from the rangehood.

2. Wash them in a solution of water and neutral liquid detergent, leaving them to soak.

3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and leave to dry.

The filters may also be washed in the dishwasher. Note that the aluminum panels may alter in colour after several washes; this is not a cause for customer complaint or replacement of panels.

The active carbon filters purify the air and are not washable nor re-usable. They must be replaced at maximum every four months. The saturation of the active carbon filter depends on the frequency of use of the appliance, the type of cooking, and the regularity of cleaning the aluminium filters.

Clean the fan and other surfaces of the rangehood regularly using a cloth moistened with a non-abrasive liquid detergent.

The procedure for replacing the lights depends on the type of lamp.

For halogen/incandescent lamps (Fig. 5A):

Only use lamps of the same type and wattage installed on the device.

For 12 volt 20W halogen lights (Fig. 5B):

1. Remove the glass retaining ring and the glass.

2. Replace the globe with another of the same type.

3. Replace the glass and retaining ring.

The push-button controls function as follows:

• Push-button A: On/off lights switch.

• Push-button B: On/off cooker hood switch. The appliance switches on at speed level 1. If the hood is already on, press for 2 seconds to switch it off. This button also decreases the motor speed.

• Display C: Indicates the motor speed level selected and activates the timer.

• Push-button D: Switches on the cooker hood and increases the motor speed. Touching the key at the 3rd speed activates the intensive function for 10 minutes, after which it returns to the original speed. The display blinks during this function.

• Key E: Activates the Timer for 15 minutes, after which functions are switched off. The Timer is deactivated by re-pressing Key E. When the Timer is active, the decimal point on the display will flash. The Timer cannot be activated if the intensive speed is functioning.

The “clean air” function switches the motor on for 10 minutes every hour at the first speed. To activate it, press key E for 2 seconds when the appliance is switched off. During operation, a rotary movement of the peripheral segments will be shown on the display. When the 10 minutes have passed, the motor switches off and the fixed letter “C” is displayed until the motor re-starts after 50 minutes. To return to normal functioning, press any key except for the light keys. Press key E again to deactivate the function.

The display C will flash to indicate when filters need attention:

• When display item C flashes, alternating with the letter F (e.g., 1 and F), the anti-grease filters must be washed.

• When display item C flashes, alternating with the letter A (e.g., 1 and A), the active carbon filters must be replaced (or washed, depending on the filter type).

After the clean filter has been positioned correctly, the electronic memory must be reset by pressing button A for approximately 5 seconds, until the indication F or A shown on the display C stops flashing.

The key symbols for the slider controls are explained below:

• A = Light switch

– A1 = Off key

– A2= On key

• C = Speed control

– C1 = Off key

– C2 = FIRST SPEED key

– C3 = SECOND SPEED key

– C4 = THIRD SPEED key.
