Please adhere to the following safety precautions for safe operation of your BLANCO BRSH60X rangehood:

• The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.

• Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

• There shall be adequate ventilation of the room when the rangehood is used at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels. The negative pressure in the environment must not exceed 4Pa (4×10-5 bar).

• Ensure that the rangehood is cleaned frequently.

• There is a risk of fire if cleaning is not carried out in accordance with the instructions.

• Do not flambé under the rangehood.

When installing your BLANCO BRSH60X, please observe the following requirements:

• The exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue which is used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.

• The minimum distance between the support surfaces of the cooking pots on the cooker top and the lowest part of the rangehood must be at least 65 cm.

• The regulations concerning the discharge of exhaust air have to be fulfilled.

• The appliance must be fitted to a cupboard or other suitable support. For fixing, use 4 screws suitable for the cupboard.

• The appliance is manufactured as a class II appliance, so no earth cable is necessary.

• If connecting directly to the electrical network, an omnipolar switch with a minimum opening of 3mm between contacts must be placed between the appliance and the network.

For an extraction setup, the BLANCO BRSH60X expels fumes through an outside wall or duct. You will need to purchase a telescopic pipe that complies with current standards and connect it to the flange B. We recommend ducting to the atmosphere to ensure optimum performance. To achieve the most benefit, follow these points:

1. Ducting from the rangehood carrying the exhaust air should not exceed a length of three (3) metres.

2. For ducted installation, it is recommended to use galvanised or similar metal type flue pipe. PVC pipe is not recommended.

3. Ducting containing a 90° degree bend will encounter a loss in efficiency of approximately 35%. Additional 90° degree bends can cause losses of up to 15% per bend.

4. Ducting size should always comply with the manufacturer’s specification.

To transform your BLANCO BRSH60X from the extraction version to the recirculating one, you will need an activated carbon filter. This filter cleans the air in the room. Follow these steps:

1. The filter must be fitted to the motor in the centre of the fan grille. To do this, remove the grill (G).

2. Fit the filter by twisting it by 90 degrees until it is gripped securely.

3. The clean air is returned into the room through a connecting tube that passes inside the cupboard and connects to the ring B.

Please note: The activated carbon filter is not washable or reusable and must be replaced at least every 4 months. Saturation of the filter depends on how often the appliance is used, the type of cooking, and the regularity of grease filter cleaning.

To prevent fire hazards, it is recommended to clean the aluminium filters at a maximum of every 2 months. The aluminium filters capture grease particles suspended in the air and are subject to clogging depending on usage frequency. Follow these instructions:

1. Remove the aluminium filters from the rangehood.

2. Wash them in a solution of water and neutral liquid detergent, leaving them to soak.

3. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and leave to dry.

Alternatively, the filters may also be washed in the dishwasher. Note that the aluminum panels may alter in colour after several washes, which is not a cause for customer complaint or replacement of panels.

The push-button controls operate as follows:

• **Push-button A:** On/off lights switch.

• **Push-button B:** On/off cooker hood switch. The appliance switches on at speed level 1. If the cooker hood is on, press this button for 2 seconds to switch it off. This button also decreases the motor speed.

• **Display C:** Indicates the motor speed level selected and activates the timer.

• **Push-button D:** Switches on the cooker hood and increases the motor speed. Touching this key when at the 3rd speed activates the intensive function for 10 minutes, after which the appliance returns to the original speed. The display blinks during this function.

• **Key E (Timer):** Times the functions on activation for 15 minutes, after which they are switched off. The Timer is deactivated by re-pressing Key E. When the Timer is activated, the decimal point on the display will flash. The Timer cannot be activated if the intensive speed is functioning.

The “clean air” function is activated by pressing key E for 2 seconds when the appliance is switched off. This function switches the motor on for 10 minutes every hour at the first speed. During functioning, a rotary movement of the peripheral segments will be visualised on the display. When this time has passed, the motor switches off and the fixed letter “C” will be visualised on the display until the motor re-starts after 50 minutes for another 10 minutes, and so on. To return to normal functioning, press any key apart from the light keys. To deactivate the function completely, press key E.

Your BLANCO BRSH60X rangehood will indicate when the filters need attention:

• **Anti-grease filter saturation:** When display item C flashes, alternating with the letter F (e.g., 1 and F), the anti-grease filters must be washed.

• **Active charcoal filter saturation:** When display item C flashes, alternating with the letter A (e.g., 1 and A), the active carbon filters must be replaced (or washed, depending on the filter type).

• **Resetting the indicator:** After the clean filter has been positioned correctly, the electronic memory must be reset by pressing button A for approximately 5 seconds, until the indication F or A shown on the display C stops flashing.

The slider controls operate as follows:

• **A = Light switch**

• A1 = Off key

• A2= On key

• **C = Speed control**

• C1 = Off key

• C2 = FIRST SPEED key

• C3 = SECOND SPEED key

• C4 = THIRD SPEED key.

Only use lamps of the same type and wattage as installed on the device.

For Halogen/Incandescent Lamps (Tubolar or Candle type):

The specific instructions for this type are not detailed, but you should only replace with the same type and wattage.

For Halogen Lamps (12 volt 20 W):

1. Remove the glass retaining ring and the glass.

2. Replace the globe with another of the same type.

3. Replace the glass and retaining ring.

To replace a halogen lamp by removing the metal surround:

With a small blade, remove the metal surround holding the glass in place. The lamp can then be pulled outward from its socket.
