This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register. This product should not be placed in any area where proper ventilation is not provided.
8. This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply in your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
9. Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not install this product where the cord may be walked on.
10. Never push objects of any kind into this product through the slots in the telephone base or handset because they may touch dangerous voltage points or create a short circuit. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.
11. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this product, but take it to an authorized service facility. Opening or removing parts of the telephone base or handset other than specified access doors may expose you to dangerous voltages or other risks. Incorrect reassembling can cause electric shock when the product is subsequently used.

• You may have too many extension phones on your telephone line to allow all of them to ring simultaneously. Try unplugging some of the other phones.

Why does my VTECH CS5229-3 handset fade or cut out during a call?
• The cordless handset may be out of range. Move it closer to the telephone base.

• Voicemail is a feature available from your telephone service provider and it works separately from the built-in answering system. To use it, you must subscribe to the service. For information on how to access and use the voicemail service, contact your telephone service provider.
I’ve set my VTECH CS5229-3’s LCD language to Spanish or French and don’t know how to change it back to English. What should I do?

I use a nontraditional telephone service (like VoIP) and my VTECH CS5229-3 doesn’t work. What can I do?
• Connect the telephone base to a conventional telephone wall jack. Move your phone to a friend’s home that uses conventional telephone service and test the phone there. If it works, the problem is with your telephone service. Contact your telephone service provider (cable, satellite or VoIP). You may need special equipment such as a special filter for your phone to work.
I’ve followed all the instructions, but my VTECH CS5229-3 is still not working. What is a common cure for electronic equipment?
If the telephone is not responding normally, try putting the cordless handset in its charger. If it does not fix the problem, do the following (in the order listed):
1. Disconnect the power to the telephone base.
2. Disconnect the cordless handset battery.
3. Wait a few minutes.
4. Connect power to the telephone base.
5. Completely remove the battery. Then install the battery into the cordless handset again.
