The TIMAGO ACTIV-TIM wheelchair is constructed from a lightweight aluminum frame. It features flip-up armrests and an optional detachable upholstery for the backrest and seat, made from a breathable mesh material. The wheelchair is equipped with a quick release function for the wheels, center of gravity adjustment, attendant brakes, and a foldable backrest. It includes a safety belt, anti-tip wheels, solid 22″ rear wheels, and 8″ front wheels. It is also available in versions with 16″ and 24″ wheels.

The set for the TIMAGO ACTIV-TIM wheelchair includes:

• Wheelchair frame with wheels

• Seat and backrest

• Safety belt

• Set of keys for wheelchair assembly/dismantling

Optional accessories for the TIMAGO ACTIV-TIM wheelchair include anti-tip wheels, footrests with safety straps, and mesh upholstery.

Step 1. Unfolding the wheelchair

Place the wheelchair on the ground. Unfold the wheelchair using the armrests. Then, press the center of the seat so that all the elements fit together.

Step 2. Backrest and seat

Lift the backrest upwards and lock it with backrest locks which are located below the hand grips. Fix the upholstery on the wheelchair.

Step 3. Footrests

Fix the footrest on the outer side of the frame. Then turn the footrest inwards until it is locked.

Step 4. Armrests

The armrests are tiltable. To raise the armrest, press the button located on the frame (under armrests) of the wheelchair.

Step 5. Height adjustment of footrests

Adjust the footrests using the screw located on the tube. Enough space should be left between the footplates and the ground as footplates set too low may cause difficulties in climbing hills and curbs. Adjust the footplates so that the angle between trunk and thighs is 90º (optimum sitting position for the user).

Step 6. Assembly of safety straps

Attach the safety straps to the footrests to prevent the user’s legs from sliding down the footplates.

To fold the TIMAGO ACTIV-TIM wheelchair for easier transport and storage, follow these steps:

• Swing away the footplates and set them in a vertical position.

• Detach the upholstery.

• Use the handles to lift the seat upwards until the frame of the wheelchair is folded.

• To fold the backrest, simultaneously press the locking elements located under the hand grips at the back of the backrest and pull the backrest downwards.

To lock the wheels, push the lever forward until the wheel is fully blocked. This should be done separately for the left and right wheel. Please note that the parking brake only serves to lock the wheels when the wheelchair is at a complete stop.

The proper functioning of the parking brake on your TIMAGO ACTIV-TIM depends on its adjustment and position. It should be mounted at an adequate distance from the back wheel, so that it is blocked firmly and the lever does not face excessive resistance.

• In case of excessive resistance, move the parking brake towards the front using the locking screws. Set the parking brake in a position that allows it to block the wheels easily and without excessive resistance.

• When the parking brake does not touch or lock the wheel properly, follow the above instruction by moving the handle in the opposite direction.

The levers of the attendant brakes are located behind the backrest, under both hand grips.

• To stop the wheelchair, squeeze the lever of the brake. To release the brake, let go of the levers. Perform this activity smoothly and with appropriate force.

• The brakes are equipped with parking locks. To use them, squeeze the lever and pull out the locking element.

Before using your TIMAGO ACTIV-TIM, check the condition of the brakes, construction, and tyres. Check if all the components are assembled and adjusted properly. Do not use the wheelchair if any defects are noticed.

Step 1. Using parking brakes

Always lock the wheels with the parking brakes when getting in or out of the wheelchair.

Step 2. Footplates

The footplates should be set in a vertical position when getting in or out of the wheelchair. Do not use the footplates as a support while getting in or out of the wheelchair, due to the risk of falling. After transferring to the wheelchair, unfold the footplates. Note: Do not stand on the footplates due to the risk of damage.

Step 3. Getting in the wheelchair

The wheelchair should be located as close to the patient as possible. It should touch the bed or other seat being used. If the user cannot change their seat independently, transfer the user to the wheelchair.

Step 4. Position of the user

The user should sit in an upright position with their knees bent at a 90° angle. The wheelchair is then ready to use.

Carry out maintenance of the wheelchair components regularly:

• The upholstery and the cushion can be cleaned with a damp (not wet) cloth and cold or warm water, without the use of detergents. Difficult stains can be cleaned with a sponge. Do not soak the upholstery too much. Dry away from heat sources.

• Plastic elements should be cleaned with a damp cloth, possibly with the use of appropriate detergents for plastic elements. In such cases, follow the instructions given by the producer and safety measures.

The TIMAGO ACTIV-TIM wheelchair should not be exposed to direct sunlight, water, or moisture during storage and transport.
