Why might there be coffee or water residue in my new machine?
The quality of the products is very important. Every single machine is checked in the final quality inspection and tested with coffee beans and water. For this reason, despite thorough cleaning, you may still find minimal amounts of coffee or water residue in the machine. This is not a sign of poor quality – the machine is in perfect working order and ready to use.
What is the intended use of the Esperto mini coffee machine?
The coffee machine has been designed for preparing Espresso and Caffè Crema from whole (unground), roasted coffee beans. It is intended for use in households and household-like environments, such as:
• in shops, offices and similar work spaces,
• in agricultural buildings,
• by guests in hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts and other places offering accommodation.
The machine is not designed for use in continuous operation.
What are the key safety warnings I should be aware of?
Danger to children and people with limited ability:
• Children must not be allowed to play with the machine. Keep the machine and connection cable away from pets and children under the age of 8.
• Set up the machine out of the reach of children.
• Keep packaging materials out of the reach of children to avoid risks like suffocation.
• This appliance may be used by children aged 8 and over or by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, provided they are supervised or have been trained in its safe use.
• Children must not be allowed to clean the machine unless they are over 8 years of age and supervised.
Danger due to electricity:
• Never immerse the machine, mains plug or connection cable in water.
• Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
• Do not use the machine outdoors.
• Only connect the machine to a properly installed power socket with earthed contacts that matches the machine’s technical specifications.
• Do not use the machine if it, its cable, or plug is damaged, or if it has been dropped.
• Remove the mains plug from the power socket if a fault occurs, if the machine will be unused for a prolonged period, or before cleaning.
Danger of fire/burns/scalds:
• Position the machine so it is free-standing, not against a wall, in a corner, or in a cupboard.
• Do not cover the machine while in use.
• Do not touch the beverage outlet opening during or immediately after use.
• The brewing unit and casing become hot. Do not touch them during or shortly after use.
Danger – damage to health:
• Regularly empty and clean the leftover water tray, the container for the coffee grounds and the drip tray.
• Change the water in the water tank daily to prevent germs.
How can I avoid causing material damage to the coffee machine?
• Only operate the machine with the container for the coffee grounds and the leftover water tray inserted.
• Pour only fresh, cold tap water or other drinking water into the water tank. Do not use carbonated mineral water or any other liquids.
• Never fill the coffee bean compartment with raw coffee (green, unroasted beans), caramelised or sugar-coated beans, beans mixed with raw coffee, or loose ground coffee.
• Only adjust the grinder settings while the grinder is in operation.
• Descale the machine as soon as it indicates this is necessary.
• To move the machine, always hold it by the outer casing.
• Place the machine on a stable, flat, level surface that is well lit and not sensitive to heat or moisture.
• Do not place the machine on a hob or next to a hot oven or radiator.
• The machine must not be exposed to temperatures below 4 °C, as residual water in the heating system could freeze and cause damage.

Symbol is lit up:
The brewing unit is positioned incorrectly. Remove the cover cap and check that the brewing unit is securely in place.
Symbol is flashing:
The cover cap for the brewing unit is not in place or is positioned incorrectly. Remove the cover cap and position it correctly.
The coffee is not hot enough. What can I do?
Especially for Espresso, the small quantity of coffee can cool down quickly in a cold cup. Preheat the cup by dispensing a small amount of hot water into it and then pouring it out before brewing your coffee.
The coffee is too weak. How can I fix this?
Adjust the grinder to a finer setting. If necessary, also press the Intense+ button before the beverage button to make the coffee stronger.
The coffee flows very slowly. What is the cause?
The grind is likely too fine. Adjust the grinder to a coarser setting while the machine is grinding.
The machine is taking a long time to heat up or is dispensing only small amounts of coffee/water. What should I do?
The machine needs to be descaled, even if the “Descale” symbol is not lit up. Proceed with the full descaling and rinsing process as described in the instructions.
