The buttons on your SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset have various functions depending on the context. Here is a guide to their operations:

The LED on the BTD 800 USB or USB-C dongle indicates its status as follows:

Your SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset can be paired with Bluetooth devices in a few ways.

Connecting via the BTD 800 Dongle (pre-paired):

The dongle and the headset in the bundles are already paired.

1. Turn the headset on.

2. Plug the dongle into the USB port of your computer.

3. The dongle LED flashes blue while searching and switches to dimmed blue when connected successfully.

Manually pairing the headset and the dongle:

1. Press and hold the headset’s Power button and the dongle’s button until the LEDs on both devices alternately flash blue and red.

2. Once the dongle and the headset are connected, the dongle lights up dimmed blue.

Pairing via Bluetooth with a mobile device:

1. Press and hold the Power button on the headset for 4 seconds until the LED flashes blue and red. The headset is in pairing mode.

2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and start the search for Bluetooth devices.

3. Select “EPOS ADAPT 560” from the list of found devices to establish a Bluetooth connection.

4. The LED flashes blue 2 times as soon as the headset finds a device to connect to, and then the LED turns off.

The free EPOS Connect software allows you to configure and update your SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset and offers additional settings. To install it:

1. Download the software from the EPOS audio website’s connect page.

2. Install the software. You may need administrator rights on your computer. If necessary, contact your IT department.

To make calls via the computer, you will also need to install a softphone (VoIP Software) or ask your admin for support.

Windows usually changes the Audio settings automatically if you connect a new headset. If the SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset is connected but you hear no sound:

1. Right-click the Audio icon in the system tray.

2. Select under output “ADAPT 560” as the speaker.

3. Select under input “ADAPT 560” as the microphone.

Turning the headset on:

1. Press the Power button for 2 seconds.

2. The headset turns on, the LED flashes blue, and it automatically tries to connect to available paired Bluetooth devices.

3. The LED flashes blue 2 times when it finds a device and connects. The LED then turns off. If the LED flashes red, no paired device has been found.

Turning the headset off:

1. Press the Power button for 2 seconds.

2. The LED flashes red 3 times and the headset turns off.

3. All volume settings are saved automatically.

For good sound quality and the best possible wearing comfort, adjust your SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset as follows:

1. Put the headset on so that the headband runs over the top of your head and the side with the R marking rests on your right ear.

2. Adjust the headset so that:

– your ears are comfortably covered by the ear pads,

– you feel even, gentle pressure around your ears,

– a snug fit of the headband on the head is ensured.

You can adjust three independent volume settings for the SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset:

1. Call volume: during an active call

2. Audio volume: during audio streaming

3. Volume for ring tone, tones and voice prompts: in idle mode (no active call or audio streaming)

To adjust the volume, press the Multifunction button to increase or decrease the volume. You will hear a beep or double beep for maximum or minimum volume. Alternatively, you can adjust the volume on your connected device.

You have two options to mute the microphone on your SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset:

• Rotate the boom arm up to mute, and down to unmute.
• OR, press the Power button to toggle between mute and unmute.

Using Active Noise Cancellation (ANC):

ANC provides attenuation of ambient noise. You can activate ANC if the battery is sufficiently charged and the headset is turned on.

• Double-press the Settings button to activate or deactivate ANC.

Turning TalkThrough on / off:

TalkThrough allows you to communicate with colleagues without removing the headset, even when ANC is on. Audio playback will be paused or muted.

• Press the Settings button to activate or deactivate TalkThrough.

Making a call:

• Initiate the call on your connected device. OR
• Press the Hook button to initiate a call via your softphone.

Accepting / rejecting / ending a call:

When you receive a call, you hear a ring tone and the LED flashes blue.

• Accept a call: Press the Hook button.
• Reject a call: Press and hold the Hook button.
• End a call: Press the Hook button.

Holding a call:

• Press the Hook button twice to put an active call on hold (pause) or to unhold it.

Redialing:

• Press the Hook button twice to redial the last number.
• Press the Hook button once to cancel redialing.

Using the voice assistant / voice dial:

• Press and hold the Hook button for 1 second to activate the voice assistant on your connected device.
• Press the Hook button once to cancel the voice assistant.

You can use the SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset with up to two connected Bluetooth devices and manage two calls simultaneously. If you receive a call during an active call, a knock on tone will be played.

Accept / reject a second call:

• Accept incoming call & put active call on hold: Press the Hook button once.
• Accept incoming call & end active call: Press the Hook button twice.
• Reject incoming call & continue active call: Press and hold the Hook button for 1 second.

Toggle between calls / end active call:

• Toggle between active and held call: Press the Hook button twice.
• End the active call & make the held call active: Press the Hook button once.

Using with Microsoft Teams:

1. Plug the BTD 800 dongle into the USB port of your computer.

2. If Microsoft Teams is already running, the blue LED on the dongle changes to purple automatically.

3. Start Microsoft Teams on your computer. The dongle connects to Microsoft Teams and the LED changes from blue to purple.

4. The LED pulses purple to indicate:

– Meeting Join Notification

– Voice Mail Notification

– Missed Call Notification

5. To check these notifications on your screen, press the Hook button.

Activating and using Microsoft Cortana:

You can activate and use Cortana, Microsoft’s Personal Digital Assistant, with the headset.

1. Press the Hook button.

2. The Dongle LED flashes purple while activating Cortana.

3. The LED lights up purple and Cortana is ready to use.

To listen to audio, play the media on your connected Bluetooth device. The LED on the dongle will light up blue. Use the Multifunction button on the headset to control playback:

If you receive and accept a call, audio playback is paused and restarts after the call, if supported by the connected device.

Charging the headset battery:

1. Connect the supplied USB cable to the USB-C socket of the headset and a USB socket of your computer.

2. The battery is being charged. The LED lights up depending on the battery status and turns off when the battery is fully charged. To end charging, disconnect the USB cable from the headset.

Charging LED Status:

If the battery is flat, the headset turns off automatically. When the battery power drops below 20%, the LED flashes red and a “Recharge headset” voice prompt is announced several times.

Verifying remaining battery power:

Some mobile devices indicate the battery status of the headset directly. You can also retrieve information on the remaining battery power at any time (except while in a call):

1. Press the Settings button for 1 second.

2. The LED flashes shortly and a voice prompt is announced with the remaining power.

To avoid nicks or scratches on your SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 560 headset:

1. Fold the ear cups inwards towards the headband.

2. Store the headset in the case when not in use or when carrying it around. Keep it in a clean and dry environment.

If you do not use the headset for extended periods, charge the built-in rechargeable battery every 3 months for about 1 hour.

The transmission range of most Bluetooth devices is up to 25 meters (82 feet) with a free line of sight. If the audio quality deteriorates or the link breaks down completely:

1. Re-enter the radio range of the Bluetooth device.

2. If you re-enter the Bluetooth transmission range within 5 minutes, the connection is re-established automatically.

3. After more than 5 minutes, the connection breaks down completely and you have to manually re-establish the connection by tapping the Multifunction button on the headset.

Reconnecting Bluetooth:

Tap the headset’s Multifunction button or the dongle’s button. The headset flashes blue 2 times as soon as it finds a device to connect to. The dongle flashes blue and lights up dimmed blue.

Disconnecting Bluetooth:

Double tap the dongle’s button. Bluetooth will be disconnected, and the dongle’s LED will flash red 3 times.

To enable or disable voice prompts, in idle mode (no active call or audio playback):

1. Press and hold the Settings button for 4 seconds until the headset announces a voice prompt for “on” or “off”.

If the voice prompts are deactivated, you will hear tones instead.

Cleaning the products:

CAUTION: Liquids can damage the electronics. Keep all liquids far away from the product and do not use any cleansing agents or solvents. Only use a dry cloth to clean the product.

Replacing the ear pads:

For hygienic reasons, you should replace the ear pads from time to time. Spare ear pads are available from your EPOS partner.

1. Carefully remove the old ear pad from the ear cup.

2. Insert the fixation band of the new ear pad – with the stitched line facing to the bottom – in the space on the ear cup.

Updating the firmware of the products:

To update the installed firmware, you need the free EPOS Connect software installed on your computer.

Updating the headset firmware:

1. Connect the USB cable to your headset and your computer. The LED lights up.

2. Start EPOS Connect. If new firmware is available, the software will guide you through the update process.

Updating the dongle firmware:

1. Plug the dongle into the USB port of your computer. The LED lights up.

2. Start EPOS Connect. If new firmware is available, the software will guide you through the update process.

Clearing the pairing list of the headset (Reset):

1. Press and hold the Power button until the LED flashes blue and red.

2. Simultaneously press the Multifunction button and the Power button.

3. The LED flashes blue 3 times. The pairing list is cleared. The headset automatically searches for Bluetooth devices to pair with.

Clearing the pairing list of the dongle (Reset):

1. Plug the dongle into the USB port of your computer.

2. Press and hold the button until the LED flashes blue and red.

3. Double press the dongle’s button.

4. The LED flashes purple 3 times. The pairing list is cleared. The dongle automatically searches for Bluetooth devices to pair with.
