The SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 561 II headset consists of the following components:

The LED on your SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 561 II headset indicates its current status. Once the headset is successfully connected, the LED turns off.

The SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 561 II headset has four main buttons with various functions:

*These functions are not supported by all connected Bluetooth devices.

Settings button

The LED on the BTD 800 dongle indicates its connection and communication status.

The BTD 800 dongle and the SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 561 II headset included in the bundle are already paired. To connect them to your computer:

1. Turn the headset on.

2. Plug the dongle into a USB port on your computer.

The dongle’s LED will flash blue while searching and then turn to a dimmed blue light when successfully connected. If Microsoft Teams is running, the LED will light up purple instead of blue.

To manually pair the headset and dongle, you need to activate pairing mode for both devices:

1. Press and hold the Power button on the headset until its LED alternately flashes blue and red.

2. Press and hold the button on the dongle until its LED alternately flashes blue and red.

Once the dongle and headset are connected, the dongle’s LED will light up dimmed blue.

1. Press and hold the Power button on the headset for 4 seconds until the LED flashes blue and red. The headset is now in pairing mode.

2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and start the search for Bluetooth devices.

3. Select “EPOS ADAPT 560” from the list of found devices to establish a connection.

The headset’s LED will flash blue twice once it finds a device to connect to, and then the LED will turn off.

The free EPOS Connect software allows you to configure and update your headset and offers additional settings.

1. Download the software from the official EPOS website.

2. Install the software. You may need administrator rights on your computer.

To make calls via the computer, you will also need to install a softphone (VoIP Software) or get support from your system administrator.

If the headset is connected but you don’t hear any sound:

1. Right-click the Audio (speaker) icon in your system tray.

2. Under ‘Output’, select ‘ADAPT 560’ as the speaker.

3. Under ‘Input’, select ‘ADAPT 560’ as the microphone.

To turn the headset on:

Press the Power button for 2 seconds. The headset will turn on, the LED will flash blue shortly, and it will automatically try to connect to available paired Bluetooth devices. The LED flashes blue twice when it finds a device and connects, then turns off.

To turn the headset off:

Press the Power button for 2 seconds. The LED will flash red 3 times and the headset will turn off. All volume settings are saved automatically.

For the best sound quality and comfort, adjust the headset as follows:

1. Put the headset on so the headband runs over the top of your head.

2. Ensure the side with the ‘R’ marking rests on your right ear.

3. Adjust the headset so that your ears are comfortably covered by the ear pads, you feel even and gentle pressure around your ears, and the headband has a snug fit.

The SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 561 II headset has three independent volume settings:

1. Call volume: during an active call.

2. Audio volume: during audio streaming.

3. Tones/Prompts volume: in idle mode (no active call or audio streaming).

To adjust the volume, press the upper part of the Multifunction button to increase volume and the lower part to decrease it. You will hear a beep at minimum or maximum volume.

You can mute the microphone in two ways:

• Rotate the boom arm: Rotate the boom arm up to mute and down to unmute.

• Use the Power button: Press the Power button to mute or unmute the microphone during a call.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC):

ANC reduces ambient background noise. To activate or deactivate ANC, double-press the Settings button. You can use ANC even when the headset is disconnected from a device, as long as the battery is charged and the headset is on.

TalkThrough:

TalkThrough allows you to communicate with colleagues without removing the headset, even with ANC on. Audio playback will be paused or muted. To activate or deactivate TalkThrough, press the Settings button once. This feature only works when ANC is turned on.

Making a call:

• Initiate the call on your connected device.

• OR, press the Hook button to initiate a call via your softphone.

Accepting / Rejecting / Ending a call:

When you receive a call, you hear a ring tone and the LED flashes blue.

• To accept or end a call: Press the Hook button.

• To reject a call: Press and hold the Hook button for 1 second.

• To put an active call on hold (pause): Press the Hook button twice.

Redialing:

• To redial the last number: Press the Hook button twice.

• To cancel redialing: Press the Hook button once.

You can manage two calls simultaneously with your SENNHEISER EPOS ADAPT 561 II headset. If you receive a second call during an active call, a knock-on tone will be played.

Using with Microsoft Teams:

1. Plug the BTD 800 dongle into the USB port of your computer.

2. If Microsoft Teams is already running, the dongle will connect automatically, and its LED will change from blue to purple.

3. To check notifications for meetings, voice mail, or missed calls, press the Hook button. The dongle LED will pulse purple to indicate a notification.

Activating and using Microsoft Cortana:

You can activate and use Cortana, Microsoft’s Personal Digital Assistant, with the headset.

1. Press the Hook button. The dongle LED will flash purple while activating Cortana.

2. The LED will light up solid purple, indicating Cortana is ready to use.

To listen to audio, play media on your connected Bluetooth device. The dongle’s LED will light up blue. You can control audio playback using the Multifunction button.

Charging the headset battery:

Connect the supplied USB cable to the USB-C socket on the headset and a USB socket on your computer. The LED indicates the charging status and turns off when the battery is fully charged. If the battery is flat, the headset turns off automatically.

Verifying remaining battery power:

Some mobile devices may indicate the headset’s battery status directly. You can also retrieve the information at any time (except during a call) by pressing the Settings button. The LED will flash shortly, and a voice prompt will announce the remaining power.

When the battery power drops below 20%, the LED flashes red and a “Recharge headset” voice prompt is announced several times.

To avoid nicks or scratches on your headset:

1. Fold the ear cups inwards towards the headband.

2. Store the headset in the provided case when not in use or when carrying it around. Keep it in a clean and dry environment.

If you do not use the headset for extended periods, it is recommended to charge the built-in rechargeable battery every 3 months for about 1 hour.

The Bluetooth range is up to 25 meters, depending on environmental conditions. If audio quality deteriorates or the connection breaks:

• Re-enter the radio range of the Bluetooth device.

• If you re-enter the range within 5 minutes, the connection will be re-established automatically.

• If you have been out of range for more than 5 minutes, the connection breaks down completely. You must manually re-establish the connection by tapping the Multifunction button.

While the headset is in idle mode (no active call or audio playback), press and hold the Settings button for 4 seconds. The headset will announce a voice prompt for “on” or “off”. If voice prompts are deactivated, you will hear tones instead.

Cleaning the headset:

CAUTION: Liquids can damage the electronics. Keep all liquids far away from the product and do not use any cleansing agents or solvents.

• Only use a dry cloth to clean the product.

Replacing the ear pads:

For hygienic reasons, you should replace the ear pads from time to time.

1. Carefully remove the old ear pad by pulling it off the ear cup.

2. Insert the fixation band of the new ear pad into the space on the ear cup. Ensure the stitched line is facing towards the bottom.

To update the firmware, you must first install the free EPOS Connect software.

Updating the headset firmware:

1. Connect the USB cable to your headset and your computer. The LED will light up.

2. Start EPOS Connect. If a new firmware is available, the software will guide you through the update process.

1. Plug the dongle into a USB port on your computer. The LED will light up.

2. Start EPOS Connect. If a new firmware is available, the software will guide you through the update process.
