a) The counterclockwise rotation of the width knob shortens the width.

b) The clockwise rotation of the width knob increases the width.

c) By adjusting the air cap and the width knob at the same time, you will be able to spray a beautiful circular pattern.

How do I adjust the spray patterns and spray properly with the RONIX 8604?

Adjust the spray patterns:

The spray pattern shape is adjusted by turning the ears of the air cap to either the vertical, horizontal, or diagonal positions. Test each pattern and use whichever pattern is suitable for your application.

Spray Properly:

1. Keep distance. The best distance for spraying is 8 to 12 inches from the surface you’re spraying. Too far away may result in overspray (and wasted liquid), and too close may cause liquid build-up (runs).

2. The spray result depends heavily on the smoothness and cleanliness of the surface to be sprayed. Therefore, the surface should be carefully prepared and kept free of dust.

3. Cover all surfaces not to be sprayed. Cover screw threads or similar parts of the target object.

4. It is advisable to test the spray gun on cardboard or a similar surface to find the correct setting.

What is the correct technique for moving the RONIX 8604 while spraying?

IMPORTANT: Begin spraying outside of the target area and avoid interruptions inside the target area.

CORRECT: Be sure to hold the spray gun at an even distance of approx. 5 – 15 cm to the target object. Move the spray gun evenly cross-wise or up-and-down, depending on the spray pattern setting. An even movement of the spray gun results in an even surface quality.

INCORRECT: Avoid heavy spray fog build-up, which leads to an uneven surface quality.

How do I clean the RONIX 8604?

IMPORTANT: Never store the sprayer longer than 30 minutes without cleaning. Dried by-products act like glue and will cause moving parts to stick. Failure to properly clean your paint sprayer will damage the unit.

STEP ONE: Clean up the gun

1) Unplug the sprayer from the electrical outlet and pull the trigger on the spray gun so material inside the unit flows back into the container.

2) Empty any remaining material from the container.

3) Fill the container approximately 1/2 full with an appropriate cleaning solution. For latex, use warm soapy water; for oil-based, use a cleaning solution recommended by the material manufacturer.

4) Plug the sprayer into an electrical outlet.

5) Press the switch of the sprayer until the cleaning solution passes through the spray nozzle for several seconds.

6) Remove the container and properly discard the cleaning solution.

7) Unplug the sprayer from the electrical outlet.

STEP TWO: Clean up the nozzle tip

1) Unscrew the container and discard any remaining cleaning solution.

2) Remove the suction tube from the sprayer and clean it with warm, soapy water.

3) Unscrew the air cap, remove the nozzle tips. Clean them with warm, soapy water.

4) Let the components dry thoroughly and reassemble the unit.

5) Store the unit.
