• The appliance shall be stored in a room without continuously operating ignition sources (for example: open flames, an operating gas appliance or an operating electric heater).

• Be aware that refrigerants may not contain an odor.

• Installation must be performed in accordance with national regulation by authorized personnel only.

• Do not use extension cords or adapter plugs with this unit. Do not run the power cord under carpeting. Do not cover it with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings.

• Contact a qualified service technician for repair or maintenance of this unit.

• Install this appliance in accordance with national and local wiring regulations.

• Unplug the unit before cleaning. Clean with a soft moist cloth. Do not use solvents or harsh abrasives.

• When the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorized technician to avoid a hazard.

The TOSHIBA RACPD1013CWRU B is a hermetically sealed unit that contains fluorinated gasses (R32). For specific information on the type of gas and the amount, please refer to the relevant label on the unit itself.

Please be aware of the following:

• Do not use means to accelerate the defrosting process or to clean, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

• The appliance shall be stored in a room without continuously operating ignition sources (for example: open flames, an operating gas appliance or an operating electric heater).

• Do not pierce or burn any part of the refrigerant circuit.

• Be aware that refrigerants may not contain an odor.

• Service, maintenance, or repair of this unit must be performed by a certified technician.

• Product recycling must be done according to local regulations.

For COOL, HEAT (on heat/cool models), and DRY modes, the exhaust hose must be installed. For FAN mode, or when the HEAT mode is being used to recirculate inside air, the exhaust hose can be removed.

To install the exhaust hose assembly to the unit:

1. Press the exhaust hose into the window slider adaptor and unit adapter. The elastic buckles of the adaptors will clamp it automatically.

2. Insert the unit adapter side of the exhaust hose assembly into the groove of the air outlet on the back of the unit.

3. Align the hook of the unit adapter with the seat on the air outlet and slide the assembly down until it is seated.

Note: Make sure the adaptor is inserted into the lower groove of the air outlet. To ensure proper function, DO NOT overextend or bend the hose. Make sure that there are no objects within 20 inches (~500mm) of the exhaust hose.

You can operate your TOSHIBA RACPD1013CWRU B using the control panel on the unit or the provided remote control. The functions are as follows:

• POWER Button (On/Off): Turns the unit on or off.

• MODE Button: Press to cycle through the operation modes: AUTO → COOL → DRY → HEAT → FAN. The corresponding indicator light will illuminate on the control panel.

• UP (+) and DOWN (-) Buttons: Adjust the temperature setting in 1°F or 1°C increments within the range of 62°F (17°C) to 86°F (30°C). These buttons are also used to set the TIMER. To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons together for 3 seconds.

• FAN SPEED Button: Selects the fan speed. Each press cycles through AUTO, LOW, MED, and HIGH. In DRY mode, the fan speed is automatically set to LOW and cannot be adjusted.

• TIMER Button: Used to initiate the Auto-On or Auto-Off time program. Press the TIMER button to initiate the auto-on time sequence. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the timer. Press the TIMER button again to initiate the auto-off time sequence. To cancel the timer, press the POWER button or adjust the timer setting to 0.0.

• SLEEP Button: Press to activate Sleep mode, which saves energy during sleeping hours. When in COOL or HEAT mode, the set temperature will increase (cooling) or decrease (heating) by 1°F/1°C per hour for the first 2 hours. The new temperature is maintained for 5 hours before the unit turns off. The fan speed is set to AUTO. Sleep mode is not available in FAN or DRY mode.

• SWING Button: Starts and stops the automatic movement of the horizontal louver. Hold it down for 2 seconds to activate the Wireless connection feature (if available).

• LED Button (Remote Only): Turns the unit’s LED display on and off.

• SHORT CUT Button (Remote Only): Sets and activates your favorite preset settings.

• FOLLOW ME Button (Remote Only): Activates the Follow Me feature. The remote control will measure the temperature at its location and send a signal to the air conditioner every 3 minutes. The unit will then adjust the temperature based on the remote’s location. This feature is not available in FAN or DRY mode.

• COOL Operation: Press the MODE button until the COOL indicator light comes on. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select your desired temperature between 62°F (17°C) and 86°F (30°C). Press the FAN SPEED button to choose the fan speed (AUTO, LOW, MED, HIGH).

• HEAT Operation (on applicable models): Press the MODE button until the HEAT indicator light comes on. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select your desired temperature. Press the FAN SPEED button to choose the fan speed.

• DRY Operation: Press the MODE button until the DRY indicator light comes on. The fan speed is automatically set to LOW and cannot be adjusted. The temperature cannot be adjusted.

• AUTO Operation: The unit will automatically select COOL, FAN, or HEAT operation depending on the set temperature and the current room temperature.

• FAN Operation: Press the MODE button until the FAN indicator light comes on. Press the FAN SPEED button to choose the fan speed. The temperature cannot be adjusted.

• P1: Bottom tray is full. Connect the drain hose and drain the collected water away. If the error repeats, call for service.

• E1: Room temperature sensor error. Unplug the unit and plug it back in. If error repeats, call for service.

• E2: Evaporator temperature sensor error. Unplug the unit and plug it back in. If error repeats, call for service.

• E4: Display panel communication error. Unplug the unit and plug it back in. If error repeats, call for service.

• Displays temperature in °F or °C and the Auto-timer settings. While on DRY and FAN modes, it shows the room temperature.

When the water level of the bottom tray reaches a predetermined level, the unit beeps 8 times, and the digital display shows “P1”. At this time the air conditioning/dehumidification process will immediately stop. To drain the unit:

Draining the Unit (Manual):

1. Move the unit carefully to a drain location. If this is not possible, move it to a location where you can place a pan under the drain.

2. Remove the drain plug from the back of the unit.

3. Let the water drain completely.

4. Replace the drain plug firmly.

Continuous Drainage (for Dry mode):

1. Remove the upper drain plug from the back of the unit.

2. Connect a drain hose (5/8″ or 16mm, not supplied) to the upper drain outlet. Ensure the other end of the hose leads to a suitable drain. The hose must be directed downwards from the drain outlet.

Heat Pump Mode Draining (on applicable models):

1. The heat pump mode uses a drain hose with an elevated lip (0.1″). The hose faces downward from the drain outlet.

2. Attach the drain hose to the drain connector on the unit.

3. Connect the other end of the hose to a suitable drain, making sure the hose is directed downward.

The power supply cord contains a current measuring device that interrupts current flow if the power cord is damaged. To use your device:

1. Plug in the air conditioner.

2. The power supply cord will have two buttons: TEST and RESET. Press the TEST button. You should notice a click as the RESET button pops out.

3. Press the RESET button. You should notice a click as the button engages.

4. The power supply cord is now ready for operation.

This device must not be used to turn the unit on or off. Always make sure the RESET button is pushed in for correct operation. The power supply cord must be replaced if it fails to reset when either the TEST button is pushed, or it cannot be reset.

Your installation location should meet the following requirements:

• Make sure that you install your unit on an even surface to minimize noise and vibration.

• The unit must be installed near a grounded plug, and the Collection Tray Drain (found on the back of the unit) must be accessible.

• The unit should be located at least 19.7 inches (50 cm) from the nearest wall to ensure proper air conditioning.

• DO NOT cover the Intakes, Outlets or Remote Signal Receptor of the unit, as this could cause damage to the unit.

Step 1: Prepare the exhaust hose assembly

Press the exhaust hose into the window slider adaptor and unit adapter. It will be clamped automatically by the elastic buckles of the adaptors.

Step 2: Install the exhaust hose assembly to the unit

Insert the unit adapter side of the exhaust hose assembly into the groove of the air outlet on the back of the unit. Align the hook of the unit adapter with the seat on the air outlet and slide the assembly down until seated.

Step 3: Prepare the adjustable window slider

Depending on the size of your window, adjust the size of the window slider. If the length of the window requires two or more window sliders, use the provided bolt/screw to fasten the window sliders once they are adjusted to the proper length.

For Hung Windows (Type 1 Installation):

1. Cut the adhesive foam seal A and B strips to the proper lengths, and attach them to the window sash and frame.

2. Insert the window slider assembly into the window opening.

3. Cut the non-adhesive foam seal C strip to match the width of the window. Insert the seal between the glass and the window frame to prevent air and insects from getting into the room.

4. If desired, install the security bracket with 2 screws as shown.

5. Insert the window slider adaptor into the hole of the window slider.

For Sliding Windows (Type 2 Installation):

1. Cut the adhesive foam seal A and B strips to the proper lengths, and attach them to the window sash and frame.

2. Insert the window slider assembly into the window opening.

3. Cut the non-adhesive foam seal C strip to match the window height. Insert the foam seal between the glass and the window frame to prevent air and insects from getting into the room.

4. If desired, install the security bracket with 2 screws as shown.

5. Insert the window slider adaptor into the hole of the window slider.

Safety Precautions:

• Always unplug the unit before cleaning or servicing.

• DO NOT use flammable liquids or chemicals to clean the unit.

• DO NOT wash the unit under running water.

• DO NOT operate the machine if the power supply was damaged during cleaning.

Air Filter Cleaning:

1. Remove the air filter. The upper filter is combined with the grill. For the lower filter, press the grill down slightly and pull it out (model dependent).

2. Clean the filter with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely in a shaded area before reinstalling.

Maintenance Tips:

• Clean the air filter every 2 weeks for optimal performance.

• Drain the water collection tray immediately after a P1 error occurs and before storage to prevent mold.

• In households with animals, periodically wipe down the grill to prevent blocked airflow due to animal hair.

Unit Cleaning:

Clean the unit using a damp, lint-free cloth and mild detergent. Dry the unit with a dry, lint-free cloth.

1. Drain the unit’s water collection tray completely.

2. Run the unit on FAN mode for 12 hours in a warm room to dry it and prevent mold.

3. Turn off the unit and unplug it.

4. Clean the air filter according to instructions and reinstall the clean, dry filter before storing.

5. Remove the batteries from the remote control.

6. Be sure to store the unit in a cool, dark place. Exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat can shorten the lifespan of the unit.
