What are the safety precautions for operating the RONIX RH-4041 pump?
You must observe the following safety precautions when operating the RONIX RH-4041 pump:
• A triangular symbol with an exclamation mark, together with the words “Danger” or “Warning”, indicates the risk level if you fail to observe the prescribed safety precautions.
• DANGER RISK ELECTRIC SHOCK: Warns that failure to observe the precautions involves a risk of electric shock.
• DANGER: Warns that failure to observe the precautions involves a risk of damage to persons and/or things.
• WARNING: Warns that failure to observe the precautions involves the risk of damaging the pump and/or the plant.
What is the intended use and general operating information for the RONIX RH-4041 pump?
The RONIX RH-4041 pump is designed for the drainage of infiltration water, emptying water tanks or swimming pools. It is also used for the drainage of sewage water with particles in suspension and from septic tanks. The maximum water temperature is 35°C, and it can handle the passage of particles up to 35mm.
For correct installation and operation:
• Follow the directions in the electrical schematic chart and the operating and maintenance instructions.
• When the control box is connected to the supply, the motor will start immediately if there is a suitable water level. If the motor turns but no water is drawn, consult the troubleshooting guide.
• For three-phase pumps, check that the direction of rotation corresponds to the arrow located at the suction filter.
• THE PUMP SHOULD NEVER BE OPERATED DRY.
• NEVER MODIFY THE FLOAT SWITCH POSITION, WHICH IS ADJUSTED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
How should I install the RONIX RH-4041 pump?
Follow these steps for proper installation of the RONIX RH-4041 pump:
• The pump must always be totally submerged, which provides it with the necessary cooling.
• If there is a lot of dirt at the bottom of the water tank, install the pump at least 5 cm away from the bottom to avoid dirt blocking the wet end.
• Ensure there is enough space for the free operation of the float switch.
• Never suspend the pump by its electric cord. If it is necessary that the pump does not touch the bottom, suspend it by a plastic cable fixed to the transport handle.
What are the recommendations for assembling the discharge pipe for the RONIX RH-4041?
When assembling the discharge pipe for your RONIX RH-4041, please follow these recommendations:
• If the pipework needs to be long with numerous bends, it is recommended to install a pipe with a larger diameter than the discharge outlet to reduce friction loss as much as possible.
• Install a check valve to the outlet of the pump to prevent the pipe from emptying each time the pump stops.
• Avoid twisted or curved routing of the pipework and ensure correct connection at the outlet. In both cases, flow at the outlet will be reduced if the connection is wrong.
How should the RONIX RH-4041 pump be electrically connected?
The electrical installation for the RONIX RH-4041 pump should incorporate the following:
• A switch with multiple contact separation, minimum 3 mm.
• A Residual Current Circuit Breaker 30 mA (RCCB).
Pumps assembled with a starting control box are supplied ready for operation. On three-phase pumps, protection should be provided by the user. Always ensure that the voltage and frequency are the same as those shown on the motor specification plate.
What maintenance is required for the RONIX RH-4041 pump?
The RONIX RH-4041 pump requires no specific maintenance, but the following is suggested:
• In colder seasons, when temperatures fall below 0°C, empty the discharge pipe.
• If the pump is not to be used for an extended period of time, it should be taken out from the installation and stored in a dry and well-ventilated place.
ATTENTION: The replacement of the electrical supply cable requires the use of special tools, which can only be carried out by the manufacturer and/or our Official Service Engineer.
How do I troubleshoot common problems with my RONIX RH-4041 pump?
Refer to the following list of problems, causes, and solutions to troubleshoot your RONIX RH-4041 pump.
Problem 1: Pump does not start.
• Cause: Lack of Electricity. Solution: Replace Fuses or Switch RCCB (30 mA).
• Cause: Improper Thermal Protection. Solution: Switch Thermal Protector or Check that Voltage is Correct.
• Cause: Float Switch Disconnected. Solution: Wait for Water Level to be Back to Adequate Level.
• Cause: Wet end Blocked. Solution: Call Service Engineer.
• Cause: Blocked Float Switch. Solution: Check the Free Operation of the Float Switch.
Problem 2: Pump runs but there is no flow.
• Cause: Disconnected Discharge Pipe. Solution: Connect it and Fix the Discharge Pipe Correctly.
• Cause: Air Trapped at The Pump Body. Solution: Move the Pump Laterally to Empty the Air.
• Cause: Check Valve Assembled Incorrectly. Solution: Assemble the Valve Correctly.
• Cause: Pump Partially Covered with Water. Solution: Submerge the Pump or Wait for a Suitable Water Level.
• Cause: Inlet filter obstructed. Solution: Clean the Suction Filter.
Problem 3: Pump stops automatically.
• Cause: Improper Thermal Protection. Solution: Switch Thermal Protector or Check that Voltage is Correct.
• Cause: Wet end Blocked. Solution: Call Service Engineer.
Problem 4: Pump does not deliver rated capacity.
• Cause: Inlet filter obstructed. Solution: Clean the Suction Filter.
• Cause: Total manometric head higher than expected. Solution: Check the Geometric Head and Loss of Head.
• Cause: Impeller Worn. Solution: Contact a Service Engineer.
