Your RAM 1500 2024 is equipped with a key fob that supports Passive Entry, Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), Keyless Enter ‘n Go™, remote air suspension lowering, and Remote Start. It allows you to lock or unlock doors, the tailgate, and the RamBox (if equipped), and activate the Panic Alarm from up to 66 ft (20 m) away.

To Lock/Unlock The Doors And Tailgate:

Push the lock button once to lock all doors, the liftgate, and RamBox. The horn will chirp and turn signals will flash. You can program all doors to unlock on the first push of the unlock button, or to unlock only the driver’s door on the first push and all doors on a second push within five seconds. When unlocked, turn signals will flash and the illuminated entry system will activate.

Using The Panic Feature:

To turn the Panic feature on or off, push the Panic button on the key fob. When activated, the turn signals will flash, the horn may pulse, and the interior lights will turn on. The feature stays on for three minutes unless turned off by pushing the button again or driving at a speed of 15 mph (24 km/h) or greater.

For easier entry and loading, your RAM 1500 2024 can be remotely lowered by pushing the key fob air suspension lowering button two times. The vehicle will provide a series of chirps and flashes to alert you that the operation has begun.

The following conditions must be met for the vehicle to lower remotely:

• The vehicle must not already be in Entry/Exit ride height.

• The vehicle battery must be fully charged.

• All doors must be closed.

• The key fob must be out of the vehicle.

• The gear selector must be in PARK.

Canceling Remote Lowering:

To cancel the lowering process at any time, push the key fob air suspension lowering button one time. The vehicle will then raise to the next defined level.

The replacement battery for your RAM 1500 2024 key fob is one CR2450 battery. Follow these steps to replace it:

Step 1. Remove the emergency key by pushing the emergency key release button on the side of the key fob and pulling the key out.

Step 2. Hold the key fob with the button side facing down. Use a small screwdriver or similar tool to pry open the left side of the fob cover at the small rectangular gap.

Step 3. Pry open the right side of the cover at its gap and remove the back cover.

Step 4. Remove the old battery by sliding it downward and back toward the key ring.

Step 5. Replace the battery by pushing down and sliding the new battery under the small lip at the top edge, ensuring the (+) sign is facing upward. Avoid touching the new battery with your fingers.

Step 6. To reassemble, line up the top edge of the back cover with the fob and press the edges until they snap together.

Step 7. Reinsert the emergency key until it locks into place.

The Keyless Enter ‘n Go™ ignition allows you to operate the ignition with the push of a button as long as the key fob is inside the passenger compartment.

Normal Starting:

Step 1. Ensure the transmission is in PARK.

Step 2. Press and hold the brake pedal.

Step 3. Push the ENGINE START/STOP button once. The system will start the vehicle.

To Turn Off The Engine:

Step 1. Place the gear selector in PARK.

Step 2. Push and release the ENGINE START/STOP button. The ignition will return to the OFF position.

Backup Starting Method (if key fob battery is low):

If the ignition switch does not change mode, the key fob battery may be low. Use the backup method by placing the nose side of the key fob (opposite the emergency key) against the ENGINE START/STOP button and pushing it to operate the ignition.

The Remote Start system on your RAM 1500 2024 allows you to start the engine from outside the vehicle using the key fob. The system has a range of approximately 328 ft (100 m).

To Use Remote Start:

Step 1. Push and release the Remote Start button on the key fob twice within five seconds.

Step 2. The vehicle doors will lock, parking lights will flash, and the horn will chirp twice. The engine will then start and remain in Remote Start mode for a 15-minute cycle.

Pushing the Remote Start button a third time shuts the engine off. Remote Start can be used twice consecutively. After two consecutive remote starts, the ignition must be cycled to the ON/RUN position before you can use remote start again.

To Exit Remote Start Mode and Drive:

Step 1. Unlock the doors using the key fob or Passive Entry.

Step 2. Before the 15-minute cycle ends, press the brake pedal and push the ENGINE START/STOP ignition button to place the vehicle in the ON/RUN position.

Conditions for Remote Start:

For the engine to remote start, all of the following conditions must be met:

• Gear selector is in PARK.

• Doors and hood are closed.

• Hazard switch is off.

• Brake switch is inactive (brake pedal not pressed).

• Battery is at an acceptable charge level.

• Panic button is not pushed.

• Fuel level meets the minimum requirement.

• The Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is not illuminated.

When you activate Remote Start on your RAM 1500 2024, the vehicle can automatically adjust climate settings for your comfort.

Remote Start Front Defrost Activation:

If the outside ambient temperature is 40°F (4.5°C) or below, the system will automatically activate the front defrost for up to 15 minutes.

Remote Start Comfort Systems:

The heated steering wheel, driver heated seat, and driver vented seat features can be programmed to turn on automatically during Remote Start through the Uconnect Settings. The system adjusts based on the outside temperature:

• In cold weather (below 40°F / 4.5°C): The front and rear defrost will turn on. The heated steering wheel and driver’s heated seat will activate if programmed. The climate control will default to maximum heat (Manual) or an optimal setting (Automatic).

• In mild weather (40°F to 78°F / 4.5°C to 26°C): Climate settings will be based on the last settings selected by the driver (Manual).

• In warm weather (above 78°F / 26°C): The driver vented seat feature will turn on if programmed. The climate control will default to MAX A/C (Manual) or an optimal setting (Automatic).

The Vehicle Security system on your RAM 1500 2024 monitors the doors, hood, tailgate, and ignition for unauthorized operation.

To Arm The System:

Step 1. Ensure the ignition is in the OFF position.

Step 2. Perform one of the following actions:

• Push the lock button on the interior power door lock switch with the driver or passenger door open.

• Push the lock button on the exterior Passive Entry door handle with a valid key fob nearby.

• Push the lock button on the key fob.

Step 3. Close any open doors.

To Disarm The System:

Use one of the following methods:

• Push the unlock button on the key fob.

• Grab the Passive Entry door handle to unlock the door (if equipped).

• Cycle the ignition out of the OFF position.

The Passive Entry system on your RAM 1500 2024 allows you to lock and unlock the vehicle’s doors without pushing the key fob buttons.

To Unlock From The Driver Or Passenger Side:

With a valid Passive Entry key fob within 5 ft (1.5 m) of the door handle, simply grab the handle to unlock the vehicle. Grabbing the driver’s door handle will unlock the driver’s door automatically (or all doors, depending on your Uconnect settings). Grabbing the passenger door handle will unlock all doors and the tailgate automatically.

To Lock The Vehicle’s Doors And Tailgate:

With a valid Passive Entry key fob within 5 ft (1.5 m) of either front door handle, push the Passive Entry lock button on the door handle to lock the vehicle. Do NOT grab the door handle when pushing the lock button, as this may unlock the doors.

The Driver Memory Settings feature allows you to save and recall up to two different profiles for the driver’s seat, side mirrors, and adjustable pedals (if equipped).

Programming The Memory Feature:

Step 1. Place the vehicle’s ignition in the ON/RUN position.

Step 2. Adjust all memory profile settings (seat, mirrors, pedals) to your desired preferences.

Step 3. Push the set (S) button on the memory switch located on the driver’s door.

Step 4. Within five seconds, push the desired memory button (1 or 2).

Linking a Key Fob to Memory:

Step 1. Enable “Personal Settings Linked to Key Fob” in the Uconnect system.

Step 2. Place the ignition in the OFF position.

Step 3. Select a desired memory profile (1 or 2).

Step 4. Push and release the set (S) button, then the corresponding memory button (1 or 2).

Step 5. Within 10 seconds, push and release the lock button on the key fob.

Memory Position Recall:

With the vehicle in PARK, push the desired memory button (1 or 2) on the driver’s door, or push the unlock button on a linked key fob to recall the saved settings.

Manual Front Seats (If Equipped):

• Forward/Rearward Adjustment: While seated, pull up on the handle located at the front edge of the seat cushion and slide the seat to the desired position.

• Recline Adjustment: Lift the lever on the outboard side of the seat, lean back to the desired position, and release the lever.

Manual Rear Seats (If Equipped):

• Reclining Rear Seats: Lift the handle on the front of the rear outboard seat cushions and slide the seat bottom forward to recline the seatback.

• Folding Seat: To provide additional storage, lift upward on the seat cushion until it is flat against the seatback.

Power Front Seats (If Equipped):

Use the power seat switches on the outboard side of the seat cushions to adjust the seat:

• Forward/Rearward, Up/Down, Tilt: Use the main power seat switch to move the seat cushion in the desired direction.

• Reclining the Seatback: Use the separate power seatback switch to adjust the recline angle.

• Power Lumbar: Push the power lumbar switch forward/rearward to increase/decrease support. If it’s a 4-way adjustment, push up/down to raise/lower the support position.

The exterior light controls are located on the headlight switch on the left side of the instrument panel and on the multifunction lever on the steering column.

Headlight Switch:

Rotate the switch to select:

• O (Off): All lights are off.

• Parking Lights: Turns on parking lights, taillights, license plate light, and instrument panel lights.

• Headlights On: Turns on headlights and the lights listed above.

• AUTO (Automatic Headlights): The system automatically turns the headlights on or off based on ambient light levels.

Multifunction Lever:

• High/Low Beam Switch: Push the lever toward the instrument panel for high beams. Pull it back for low beams.

• Flash-To-Pass: Lightly pull the lever toward you to flash the high beams.

• Turn Signals: Move the lever up for a right turn or down for a left turn.

• Lane Change Assist: Lightly push the lever up or down without moving past the detent to flash the turn signal three times.

Other Light Controls:

• Fog Lights: Push the upper half of the headlight switch to turn the fog lights on or off (headlights or parking lights must be on).

• Cargo Lights: Push the cargo light button on the lower half of the headlight switch to turn the cargo, bed, and trailer lights on or off.

The climate controls in your RAM 1500 2024 allow you to regulate temperature, air flow, and direction. They are located on the touchscreen, on the instrument panel, or both.

Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) Operation:

Step 1. Push the AUTO button on the faceplate or touchscreen.

Step 2. Adjust the driver and passenger temperature controls to your desired temperature. The system will automatically maintain that temperature by adjusting blower speed, air flow mode, and A/C operation.

Common Climate Control Buttons and Functions:

• A/C Button: Press to turn the air conditioning on or off.

• Recirculation Button: Press to switch between outside air and recirculated inside air. Use this for smoke, odors, or high humidity, but extended use is not recommended.

• Front Defrost: Press to direct airflow to the windshield and side window demist outlets for defrosting/defogging.

• Rear Defrost: Press to activate the rear window defroster and heated outside mirrors (if equipped). It turns off automatically after 10 minutes.

• Blower Control: Turn the knob or press the touchscreen buttons to manually adjust the fan speed.

• Mode Control: Press the Mode button or select a mode on the touchscreen to direct air to the panel outlets, floor outlets, or a mix of both.

• SYNC Button: Press to synchronize the passenger temperature setting with the driver’s setting.

The dual pane power sunroof switches are located on the overhead console.

Opening And Closing The Sunroof:

• Express Open/Close: Push the sunroof switch rearward or forward and release it within one-half second. The sunroof will open or close automatically and stop. Any other movement of the switch will stop the sunroof.

• Manual Open/Close: Push and hold the sunroof switch rearward to open or forward to close. Releasing the switch will stop the movement.

Venting Sunroof:

• Express Vent: Push and release the Vent button. The sunroof will open to the vent position. Any movement of the switch will stop the vent operation.

Opening And Closing The Power Sunshade:

• Express Open/Close: Push the sunshade switch rearward or forward and release it within one-half second. The sunshade will open to the half-open position or close fully.

• Manual Open/Close: Push and hold the sunshade switch rearward or forward to open or close it. Releasing the switch stops the movement.

Pinch Protect Feature:

If the system detects an obstruction while closing the sunroof (Express Close), it will automatically retract. Remove the obstruction to continue.

Two latches must be released to open the hood.

To Open The Hood:

Step 1. Pull the hood release lever located below the steering wheel at the base of the instrument panel.

Step 2. Reach into the opening beneath the center of the hood and push the safety latch lever to the left to release it, then raise the hood.

To Close The Hood:

In one continuous motion, pull down on the front edge of the hood with moderate force until it is below the crossover point (where the gas props no longer resist) and let it fall closed from its own inertia. Do not slam the hood; use a firm downward push at the front center to ensure both latches engage.

Opening the Tailgate:

The tailgate can be opened by pushing the release pad on the tailgate door. If equipped, an electronic release feature allows you to open it by pushing the Tailgate Release button on the key fob twice within five seconds. The vehicle must be in PARK or NEUTRAL for the electronic release to work.

Multifunction Tailgate (If Equipped):

The 60/40 multifunction tailgate has two swing doors. To open them, the tailgate must be latched closed.

Step 1. Push the paddle down, then pull the release handle beneath the tailgate lowering handle to open the 60 split door.

Step 2. Once the 60 split door is open, pull the release handle on the inboard side of the 40 split door to open it.

To close, always close the 40 split door first, then the 60 split door. The swing doors must be securely latched before the tailgate can be lowered.

Tailgate Removal:

Step 1. Open the tailgate to a 45° angle.

Step 2. Disconnect the support cables by releasing the lock tang from the pivot.

Step 3. Disconnect the wiring harness by pushing on the two release tabs.

Step 4. Lift up on the right side of the tailgate to lift it off the pivot.

Step 5. Rotate the tailgate to nearly closed and slide it to the right to remove it from the left pivot.

To reset the oil change indicator system on your RAM 1500 2024 after performing scheduled maintenance, follow this procedure:

Step 1. Without pressing the brake pedal, push the ENGINE START/STOP button to place the ignition in the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine).

Step 2. Push and release the down arrow button on the steering wheel controls to scroll to “Vehicle Info” in the main menu.

Step 3. Push and release the right arrow button to access the ”Oil Life” screen.

Step 4. Push and hold the OK button to reset the oil life. The gauge and numeric display will update to show 100%.

Step 5. Push the up or down arrow button to exit the submenu screen.

The 8-speed automatic transmission in your RAM 1500 2024 is controlled by a rotary shifter or a console shifter, depending on your vehicle’s configuration. Always press the brake pedal before shifting out of PARK.

Gear Ranges:

• PARK (P): Locks the transmission and is used for starting the engine and parking. Always apply the parking brake.

• REVERSE (R): For moving the vehicle backward. Shift into R only when the vehicle is completely stopped.

• NEUTRAL (N): Use when the vehicle is stationary for prolonged periods with the engine running.

• DRIVE (D): For all normal forward driving. The transmission will automatically shift through all gears.

Electronic Range Select (ERS) Operation:

ERS allows you to manually limit the highest available gear. While in DRIVE, tapping the “-” button on the steering wheel activates ERS mode and sets the current gear as the top gear. You can then use the “+” and “-” buttons to change the gear limit. To exit ERS, push and hold the “+” button until the gear limit display disappears.

TOW/HAUL Mode:

Select TOW/HAUL mode when towing a trailer or carrying a heavy load. This mode improves performance and reduces transmission shifting by adjusting shift points.

The electronically shifted transfer case is operated by the 4WD Control Switch on the instrument panel. The available positions may vary depending on your vehicle’s configuration.

Common Transfer Case Positions:

• 2WD: For normal driving on dry, hard-surfaced roads. Provides the best fuel economy.

• 4WD AUTO (if equipped): Automatically sends power to the front wheels when the vehicle senses a loss of traction. Can be used in varying road conditions.

• 4WD HIGH / 4WD LOCK: Engages four-wheel drive, locking the front and rear driveshafts to spin at the same speed. Use only on loose or slippery surfaces.

• 4WD LOW: Provides maximum pulling power and torque for off-road use on loose or slippery surfaces. Do not exceed 25 mph (40 km/h).

• N (Neutral): Disengages the driveshafts for recreational towing behind another vehicle.

Shifting Procedure (2WD/4WD HIGH to 4WD LOW):

Shifting can be done while rolling at 2 to 3 mph (3 to 5 km/h) or when completely stopped.

Step 1. Slow the vehicle to 2 to 3 mph (3 to 5 km/h) with the engine running.

Step 2. Shift the transmission into NEUTRAL.

Step 3. Push the desired position (4WD LOW) on the transfer case switch.

Step 4. Once the indicator light is solid (not flashing), shift the transmission back into gear.

The air suspension system provides load-leveling and allows you to adjust the vehicle’s height using the toggle switch on the instrument panel.

Selectable Ride Heights:

• Off-Road 2 (OR2): Raises the vehicle approximately 2 inches (51 mm) for maximum ground clearance. For off-road use only at speeds below 20 mph (32 km/h).

• Off-Road 1 (OR1): Raises the vehicle approximately 1 inch (26 mm). This is the primary position for off-road driving.

• Normal Ride Height (NRH): The standard position for normal driving.

• Aero Mode: Lowers the vehicle approximately 0.6 inches (15 mm) for improved aerodynamics. It can be entered manually or automatically at highway speeds (above 62 mph / 100 km/h).

• Entry/Exit Mode: Lowers the vehicle approximately 2 inches (51 mm) for easier passenger entry/exit and loading. This can be requested at speeds below 33 mph (53 km/h).

Air Suspension Modes:

The system has several modes for specific situations, which can be enabled/disabled in the Uconnect settings:

• Tire Jack Mode: Disables automatic leveling to assist with changing a tire.

• Transport Mode: Puts the vehicle in Entry/Exit height and disables automatic leveling for towing the vehicle with all wheels off the ground.

• Wheel Alignment Mode: Puts the vehicle in Normal Ride Height and disables automatic leveling for wheel alignments.

Your RAM 1500 2024 may be equipped with standard Cruise Control or Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The controls are on the right side of the steering wheel.

Standard Cruise Control:

• To Activate: Push the on/off button. The Cruise Control Indicator Light will illuminate.

• To Set a Speed: When at the desired speed (above 20 mph / 32 km/h), push the SET (+) or SET (-) button. Release the accelerator.

• To Adjust Speed: Push SET (+) to increase or SET (-) to decrease the set speed.

• To Resume: Push the RES button to resume the previously set speed.

• To Cancel: Tap the brake pedal or push the CANC button.

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) (If Equipped):

ACC adjusts your speed to maintain a set distance from the vehicle ahead.

• To Activate/Deactivate: Push the ACC on/off button.

• To Set a Speed: Push the SET (+) or SET (-) button at the desired speed.

• To Set Following Distance: Use the Distance Setting Increase/Decrease buttons to choose between four distance settings (one to four bars).

• Operation at Stop: ACC can bring your vehicle to a complete stop and hold it. If the stop is longer than two seconds, you may need to push the RES button or tap the accelerator to resume.

Your RAM 1500 2024 is equipped with a capless fuel filler system located on the left side of the vehicle.

Step 1. Put the vehicle in PARK and switch the ignition off.

Step 2. Push the center-rear edge of the fuel filler door to release and open it.

Step 3. Insert the fuel nozzle fully into the filler pipe. The nozzle will open both flapper doors.

Step 4. Begin refueling. The fuel nozzle will automatically shut off when the tank is full.

Step 5. After the nozzle clicks off, keep it in the filler for five seconds to allow any remaining fuel to drain.

Step 6. Remove the fuel nozzle and close the fuel filler door by pushing it until it latches.

Emergency Gas Can Refueling:

If you need to refuel from a gas can, use the provided refueling funnel located under the passenger’s seat with the jack and tools. Insert the funnel fully into the filler neck to open the flappers before pouring fuel.

Understanding these terms is crucial for safe and efficient towing with your RAM 1500 2024.

• Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR): The total permissible weight of your vehicle, including the driver, passengers, options, cargo, and tongue weight.

• Gross Trailer Weight (GTW): The weight of the trailer plus all cargo, consumables, and equipment loaded in or on it.

• Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR): The total allowable weight of your vehicle and trailer when weighed together.

• Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR): The maximum permissible load on the front and rear axles individually. Load must be distributed so that neither axle GAWR is exceeded.

• Tongue Weight (TW): The downward force exerted on the hitch ball by the trailer. This should be considered part of the load on your vehicle.

• Trailer Frontal Area: The maximum height multiplied by the maximum width of the front of a trailer.

If your engine overheats, you may notice the temperature gauge at “H”, a strong smell of coolant, or white smoke from the engine. Follow these steps:

Step 1. Safely pull over and stop the vehicle.

Step 2. If the Air Conditioning (A/C) system is on, turn it off.

Step 3. Shift the transmission into NEUTRAL (N) and let the vehicle idle. Do not turn the engine off immediately unless you hear continuous chimes.

Step 4. You can also turn the temperature control to maximum heat and the blower to high to help dissipate engine heat.

Step 5. If the temperature reading does not return to normal, turn the engine off immediately and call for service. Do not open the hood if you see or hear steam, and never open the cooling system pressure cap when the system is hot.

If your RAM 1500 2024 has a discharged battery, you can jump start it using jumper cables and a booster source (another vehicle or a portable booster pack). The battery is located behind the left headlight assembly.

Preparations:

Step 1. Park the booster vehicle within cable reach, apply the parking brakes on both vehicles, and turn both ignitions OFF.

Step 2. Turn off all electrical accessories.

Connecting The Jumper Cables:

Step 1. Connect the positive (+) end of one jumper cable to the positive (+) post of the discharged battery in your RAM 1500 2024.

Step 2. Connect the opposite end of the positive (+) cable to the positive (+) post of the booster battery.

Step 3. Connect the negative (-) end of the other jumper cable to the negative (-) post of the booster battery.

Step 4. Connect the opposite end of the negative (-) cable to a good engine ground (an unpainted metal part) on the engine of your RAM 1500 2024, away from the battery and fuel system.

Starting The Engine:

Step 1. Start the engine of the booster vehicle and let it idle for a few minutes.

Step 2. Start the engine of the vehicle with the discharged battery.

Disconnecting The Jumper Cables:

Disconnect the cables in the reverse order of connection:

Step 1. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the engine ground of your vehicle.

Step 2. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the booster battery.

Step 3. Disconnect the positive (+) cable from the booster battery.

Step 4. Disconnect the positive (+) cable from your vehicle’s battery.

Proper lug nut/bolt torque is essential for ensuring the wheel is properly mounted. After a wheel has been reinstalled, the torque should be checked with a calibrated torque wrench.

**Use only authorized dealer recommended lug nuts/bolts and clean or remove any dirt or oil before tightening.

Tighten the lug nuts/bolts in a star pattern until each has been tightened twice. After 25 miles (40 km) of driving, recheck the torque to ensure the lug nuts/bolts are properly seated.
