What are the pre-installation requirements for the RAKO WSR-DMX?

Before commencing installation of the RAKO WSR-DMX modules, first read the instruction manual carefully. Rako Controls Ltd accepts no responsibility for any damage or injury caused by incorrect installation of a Rako product.

What are the location requirements for installing the RAKO WSR-DMX?

The RAKO WSR-DMX must be installed in a dry location. Do not install it in direct sunlight. Make sure that there is adequate ventilation.

How do I connect the RAKO WSR-DMX to a Rako Wired system for power and data?

The black RJ11 cable from the RAKO WSR-DMX must be connected to a Rako Wired system. This single connection provides both power and data to the unit. Suitable connection points can be found on Rako RAK-LINK and RAK-STAR units. Alternatively, the RAKO WSR-DMX can be plugged into a network connection point like a WPCon or WPConC. If the module needs to be mounted remotely, a Rako WP-Con connector module can be used to create a remote connection point.

How do I connect the DMX data from the RAKO WSR-DMX to a DMX device?

Connect the DMX data to the DMX device using either the terminal connections or the RJ45 socket provided on the RAKO WSR-DMX.

What should I do if the DMX data connection for my RAKO WSR-DMX is not working correctly?

There is no formal standard for the connection of the Data + and Data – lines for DMX. The RAKO WSR-DMX supports the most common connection type by having the header connectors in the NORMAL position. If this does not work, they can be placed in the INVERTED position, which reverses the Data + and Data – connections.
