What is the RAKO RA-IBB?

The RAKO RA-IBB is an interface module which receives wireless Rako commands and retransmits them to Silent Gliss AM commands. The RAKO RA-IBB receives a RF Rako command and retransmits it to the blinds as an AM signal.


Which Silent Gliss products can be used with the RAKO RA-IBB?

The RAKO RA-IBB can be used with Silent Gliss products 2345, 4955 and 5100.


How do I install the RAKO RA-IBB?

The RAKO RA-IBB comes with a 12V supply fitted with a 13A plug. To install the RA-IBB:

1. Remove the lid and plug the jack cable of the power supply into the connector.

2. Locate or install a 13A socket to provide power for the RA-IBB.

3. Power up the RA-IBB to complete installation.


What are the mounting requirements for the RAKO RA-IBB?

Rako modules like the RAKO RA-IBB should be mounted in areas that are adequately ventilated, dry and outside of any enclosed metal casings that may interfere with the wireless signal. Wherever possible the mounting bracket should be used. Whilst Rako modules are designed to be completely maintenance free the units should be mounted in an accessible location should there be a fault or re-addressing of the unit be necessary.


What setting must be configured on a Bridge or HUB before programming the RAKO RA-IBB?

It is essential that “Wireless Rate Mode” is disabled in the Bridge or HUB if this is being used as part of the system. To do this, access the Bridge or HUB webpages and uncheck the “Wireless Rate Mode” tick box.


What is the required distance between devices when programming the RAKO RA-IBB?

While addressing and programming the RAKO RA-IBB, please ensure there is at least 2 meters between the RAMPI, Bridge or HUB and the Silent Gliss curtain/blind.


How do I address the RAKO RA-IBB using Rasoft Pro software?

1. Open the project file for the installed Rako system and ensure that Rasoft Pro is connected to a communication device.

2. Select “File” – “New device” to bring up the “New device Wizard” and choose “RA-IBB” from the list.

3. Choose a suitable device name.

4. Associate the RA-IBB to a room from the drop down menu. The room selected here will set the “Local Room” for this device.

5. Press and hold the clear button on the RA-IBB after a few seconds it will enter setup mode and the status LED will start to blink. Release the button and the status LED should continue to blink.

6. Press “Device is in set-up” and then “Finish” to send the addressing signal to the device.

Note: DO NOT ADDRESS MORE THAN ONE RA-IBB TO THE SAME ROOM ADDRESS IN THE SAME PROJECT FILE. DOING SO WILL RESULT IN NEITHER UNIT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY.


How many blinds and curtains can the RAKO RA-IBB control?

The RAKO RA-IBB can control up to 15 blinds/curtains in up to four different rooms.


How do I allocate channels to different rooms for the RAKO RA-IBB?

First, select the RAKO RA-IBB from the device list.

In the “multi-room” tab, move the sliders to indicate the number of curtains/blinds to be controlled in each room. For example, you can have 3 channels in the Living Room, 3 in the Kitchen, 4 in the Hallway, and 2 in the Dining Room. The blue bar along the bottom indicates the number of channels allocated of the total of 15. Once complete press “Save & Upload” at the bottom of the page.

NB: Curtains and Blinds should never be addressed in the same room as Lighting Circuits.


How do I pair a Silent Gliss curtain or blind with the RAKO RA-IBB?

1. Select the “Motor Pairing” tab in the software to begin addressing the Blinds/Curtains themselves.

2. One at a time, put each Silent Gliss curtain/blind into set-up mode.

3. Once it is in set-up mode, press “Pair” to address it to the Rako room and channel in that row.

WARNING: It is possible to pair a Curtain/Blind to more than one address.


What should I do if a blind is incorrectly paired with the RAKO RA-IBB?

If a blind is paired incorrectly, press “Unpair” in the “Motor Pairing” tab to delete this address.


How do I put a Silent Gliss 4955 (Roller Blind) or 2345 (Roman Blind) into setup mode for pairing with the RAKO RA-IBB?

Use a pin or other small device to press and hold the “motor programme button” on the blind for 1s. The Blind will pulse up and down to indicate it has gone into setup mode.

Once the “Pair” button in the “Motor Pairing” tab of the RA-IBB has been pressed then the blind will pulse up and down to indicate the pairing has been received.


How do I put a Silent Gliss 5100 (Curtain Track) into setup mode for pairing with the RAKO RA-IBB?

Use a pin or other small device to press and hold the “motor programme button” on the curtain motor for 1s. The red LED will start flashing to indicate it has gone into setup mode.

Once the “Pair” button in the “Motor Pairing” tab of the RA-IBB has been pressed then the blind will pulse up and down to indicate the pairing has been received.


What control commands are available for the RAKO RA-IBB?

Scenes cannot be set via the RAKO RA-IBB. The control of Silent Gliss blinds/curtains via the RAKO RA-IBB is limited to the following commands:

Up/Open – Scene 2/Fade Up

Stop – Scene 3/Off

Down/Close – Scene 4/Fade Down

Swapping Scene 2 to be Down/Close and Scene 4 to be Up/Open can be achieved via the Silent Gliss remote.
