To mount your RAKO WP-CONC, please follow these steps:

Step 1. Mount a standard UK 1G back-box (minimum 35mm deep). Ensure the top and bottom lugs are removed if it is a dry-lining back-box.

Step 2. Connect the RAKO WP-CONC to the RAKOM CAT5 network. A single CAT5 cable is used for both power and data. The connections are duplicated on the back of the module to allow for a ‘daisy-chain’ connection.

Step 3. Fix the unit to the back-box using the screws provided.

Step 4. Clip the front surround onto the unit. Ensure the ‘UP’ arrow on the inside of the surround is at the top.

When the RAKO WP-CONC is first connected to a Rako network, it should power up and the blue LEDs behind each button will start to flash. This indicates that the unit is powered and awaiting programming. If this does not happen, you should check the RAKOM network connections.

The RAKO WP-CONC has the following default settings out of the box:

Button 1: Scene 1

Button 2: Scene 2

Button 3: Scene 3

Button 4: Scene 4

Button 5: Off

Button 6: Raise

Button 7: Lower

Rotary Control: The rotary control adjusts the brightness of the last selected scene.

Note: Scenes need to be programmed into the receiver modules for the buttons to have an effect.

To enter programming mode on your RAKO WP-CONC, press and hold buttons 1 and 5 simultaneously for about 5 seconds, until the LEDs start to flash. This indicates the unit is in programming mode.

To exit programming mode, press and hold buttons 1 and 5 simultaneously for about 5 seconds again, until the LEDs stop flashing. The unit will also automatically exit programming mode after about 3 minutes of inactivity.

To manually program a scene on the RAKO WP-CONC, follow these steps:

Step 1. Put the RAKO WP-CONC into programming mode by holding buttons 1 and 5 for about 5 seconds until the LEDs begin to flash.

Step 2. Press the button on the RAKO WP-CONC that you wish to program (e.g., button 1 for Scene 1). The corresponding LED will become steady, and the others will go out.

Step 3. Go to each Rako receiver module that you want to be part of the scene. Adjust the light level of that receiver to the desired brightness for the scene. Once you are happy with the light level, press the program button on the receiver module itself. The receiver’s LED will flash to acknowledge the command.

Step 4. Repeat step 3 for all the receiver modules you want to include in this scene.

Step 5. When you have finished programming all the required receivers for that scene, return to the RAKO WP-CONC and exit programming mode by holding buttons 1 and 5 for about 5 seconds until the LEDs stop flashing.

Your scene is now programmed. You can repeat this procedure for each button you wish to program.

When the RAKO WP-CONC is powered up, the LEDs will initially flash to indicate its House and Room address. The address is set using programming software.

The House address (default 1) is indicated by one of the buttons flashing rapidly for a few seconds.

The Room address (default 1) is indicated by one of the buttons flashing slowly for a few seconds.

The button number that flashes corresponds to the address number (e.g., button 1 flashing indicates address 1, button 2 flashing indicates address 2, and so on).

To set a fade time for a scene on your RAKO WP-CONC:

Step 1. Put the RAKO WP-CONC into programming mode (hold buttons 1 and 5 for 5 seconds).

Step 2. Press the button you wish to set a fade time for four times. The LED for that button should give a double flash to indicate it is in fade time setting mode.

Step 3. To set the fade time, press one of the other buttons (1-7). The button number corresponds to a fade time. For example, pressing button 1 sets a 0.5 second fade, button 2 sets a 2 second fade, button 5 sets a 15 minute fade.

Step 4. Exit programming mode by holding buttons 1 and 5 for 5 seconds.

To make a scene button on the RAKO WP-CONC act as a toggle switch (where the first press activates the scene and the second press switches it off), follow these steps:

Step 1. Put the RAKO WP-CONC into programming mode (hold buttons 1 and 5 for 5 seconds).

Step 2. Press the desired scene button three times. The LED for that button will give a brief flash to confirm it has been set to toggle mode.

Step 3. Exit programming mode by holding buttons 1 and 5 for 5 seconds.

Buttons 6 and 7 on the RAKO WP-CONC are default Raise and Lower. If you need to re-program them or program other buttons for this function:

Step 1. Enter programming mode by holding buttons 1 and 5 for 5 seconds.

Step 2. For the Raise function, press and hold button 6 for about 3 seconds until the LEDs do a ‘caterpillar’ up sequence. This button is now set as Master Raise.

Step 3. For the Lower function, press and hold button 7 for about 3 seconds until the LEDs do a ‘caterpillar’ down sequence. This button is now set as Master Lower.

Step 4. You can now use these buttons to manually adjust the light levels in the room. When the desired levels are achieved, you can program this as a scene by briefly pressing the desired scene button (e.g., Button 1) and then programming the receivers.

Step 5. Exit programming mode by holding buttons 1 and 5 for 5 seconds.

The rotary control on the RAKO WP-CONC can be set to one of four modes. To set a mode:

Step 1. Enter programming mode by holding buttons 1 and 5 for 5 seconds.

Step 2. Press and hold button 5 for 3 seconds until the LEDs start to flash differently, indicating you are in rotary control setup mode.

Step 3. Press one of the buttons from 1 to 4 to select the desired mode. The LEDs will flash to confirm the selection.

Step 4. Exit programming mode by holding buttons 1 and 5 for 5 seconds.

The available modes are:

Your RAKO WP-CONC is a finished product. To clean it, use a soft damp cloth. Do not use any other cleaning agents, such as methylated spirits or detergents, as this may damage the finish of the front panel.

If the lights are not responding to commands from your RAKO WP-CONC, try the following:

First, check that the RAKOM network is correctly wired and that the RAKO WP-CONC has power. The blue LEDs should be lit if it has power.

If the LEDs are on but the lights do not respond, it is likely that the unit has not been programmed to any receiver modules. Check that the RAKO WP-CONC and the receiver modules have been programmed to the same House and Room address and that scenes have been set.

If the LEDs on your RAKO WP-CONC are flashing continuously, it means the unit is in programming mode. To exit programming mode, press and hold buttons 1 and 5 simultaneously for about 5 seconds until the LEDs stop flashing. The unit will also exit programming mode automatically after approximately 3 minutes of inactivity.

If only some of the lights in a room are responding to a scene command from your RAKO WP-CONC, it means that one or more receiver modules have not been programmed into that scene. You will need to program the non-responding receiver module to the desired scene button on the RAKO WP-CONC.
