Before operating the PYLE PRO PYD1040U, please read and adhere to all safety and operating instructions.

Water and Moisture: The appliance should not be used near water (e.g., bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool, or wet basement).

Ventilation: The appliance should be situated so that its location does not interfere with proper ventilation. Do not place it on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar surface that may block ventilation openings.

Heat: Situate the appliance away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other heat-producing appliances (including amplifiers).

Power Sources: Connect the appliance only to a power supply of the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance.

Power-Cord Protection: Route power supply cords so they are not likely to be walked on or pinched. Pay particular attention to cords at plugs, receptacles, and the point where they exit from the appliance.

Cleaning: Clean the appliance only as recommended by the manufacturer.

Nonuse Periods: Unplug the power cord from the outlet when the appliance is to be left unused for a long period of time.

Object and Liquid Entry: Take care so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings.

Damage Requiring Service: The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, objects have fallen into or liquid has been spilled into the enclosure, it has been exposed to rain, it has been dropped or the enclosure is damaged, or it does not appear to operate normally.

Servicing: The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the user’s operating instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified personnel.

Overloading: Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

USB IN/OUT Port: Allows you to connect a Laptop or desktop PC/MAC using a high-speed USB cable to playback and record out at the same time from the same USB cable.

Power Switch: Powers the mixer on or off. Power off the mixer before making any connections.

Power Supply: Plug the included AC 15V power supply adaptor into the mixer first while the power is off, then plug the AC power supply into a proper power outlet. This mixer is designed to work only with the included power supply.

Output Jacks: To connect the mixer to a receiver or amplifier, use a cable with RCA plugs.

Record Output Jacks: To connect the mixer to a tape deck for recording the mixed program.

Dual Purpose Stereo Inputs: For using a turntable with a magnetic cartridge OR a high-level input source.

Ground Screw: Connect the ground wire from a turntable to eliminate system hum.

MIC Microphone connector: Permits you to connect a balanced or unbalanced low impedance microphone with a 1/4″ plug.

Input Select Switches: Set these switches based on what is plugged into the PHONO1/LINE1 and PHONO2/LINE2 input jacks.

Stereo Line Inputs: Let you connect most high-level audio sources, such as CD players, a tape deck, tuner, or VCR.

Input Source Selector: Lets you easily select your choice of audio inputs for mixing.

Channel Gain Controls: Let you adjust the gain of each input source.

Channel Tone Controls: Permit adjustment of the high, midrange, and low frequencies of a selected input.

CH3 Input Selector for LINE 5/USB: Allows you to choose the USB connection to play at CH3.

Channel Level Controls: Allow fingertip control of all sound mixing and fading.

MIC Talkover Switch: Lowers the level of other input sources, permitting you to talk over them using a microphone.

MIC Level Control: Controls the volume of the microphone.

MIC Tone Controls: Permit adjustment of the high and low frequencies of the microphone signal.

Crossfader Control: Lets you quickly and smoothly switch and mix two playing input sources. It is replaceable.

Crossfader Mode Switch: Allows you to reverse the assignment of CH1 on the left and CH3 on the right of the crossfader.

Crossfader Slope Switch: Allows you to choose the slope of the crossfader curve between gradual and quick crossfades.

Meter Mode Switch: Permits you to display either Cue and Summed Program levels OR Master Output Left and Right channel Levels.

Dual Display Meter: Displays your choice of Master Input Left and Right Levels, or Phones Output Levels for CUE and PGM.

Master Level Control: Adjusts the mixer’s overall output volume level.

Cue Selectors: Let you “preview” an input source, using the headphones, so you can adjust the volume prior to mixing it in.

Cue Mix Control: Adjusts the mix between CUE and MASTER (PROGRAM) in the headphones.

Cue Level Control: Sets the listening level for the headphones.

Headphone Jack: Accepts a 1/4″ plug for headphones.

The PYLE PRO PYD1040U permits connection of up to seven (7) audio input sources, including one microphone. Example system setups might include:

The input selection at CH3 allows you to choose the USB connection to play at CH3.

1. Turn on the computer and the PYLE PRO PYD1040U.

2. Connect a USB cable from the USB port of the mixer to your computer.

3. The window will recognize the mixer as a “USB AUDIO DEVICE” or “USB AUDIO CODEC”, and install any required system components automatically.

4. Open the START menu and go to CONTROL PANEL, then click on the SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES ICON to change system audio preferences in Windows.

5. Click on the AUDIO tab to access audio device settings.

6. Choose the USB AUDIO CODEC as a DEFAULT DEVICE.

7. Click on APPLY and you are ready to use the PYLE PRO PYD1040U with your PC.

The input selection at CH3 allows you to choose the USB connection to play at CH3.

1. Turn on the computer and the PYLE PRO PYD1040U.

2. Connect a USB cable from the USB port of the mixer to your computer.

3. Open SYSTEM PREFERENCES under the APPLE menu.

4. Choose the SOUND icon in SYSTEM PREFERENCES.

5. Choose the OUTPUT tab in the SOUND window.

6. Select USB AUDIO CODEC under CHOOSE A DEVICE FOR SOUND OUTPUT.

7. Repeat the procedure for the INPUT tab and you are ready to use the PYLE PRO PYD1040U with your MAC.
