Please observe the following safety precautions when using your PANASONIC ES-LT70 shaver:

General Precautions:

The shaver has a built-in rechargeable battery. Do not throw it into fire, apply heat, or charge, use, or leave it in a high-temperature environment.

Caution for the Outer Foil:

The outer foil is very thin and can be damaged if not used correctly. Before using the shaver, check that the foil is not damaged. Do not use the PANASONIC ES-LT70 shaver if the foil is damaged, as you may cut your skin.

Usage Precautions:

Terminate usage if there is any abnormality or failure.

Do not shave with soap or clean the PANASONIC ES-LT70 with water when it is operating with the adaptor connected.

Do not share the shaver with family or other people.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

Persons with an implanted medical electronic device, such as a pacemaker, should not allow the PANASONIC ES-LT70 shaver to touch the skin where the device is implanted, as this may cause a malfunction.

Please follow these guidelines when charging your PANASONIC ES-LT70 shaver:

Never use the adaptor in the bathroom or shower room.

Do not use any power cord or adaptor other than the one provided with your PANASONIC ES-LT70 (RE7-51).

Plug the adaptor into a household outlet where there is no moisture and handle it with dry hands.

When disconnecting the adaptor from the household outlet, hold the adaptor itself. Tugging on the power cord may damage it.

The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged, the adaptor should be scrapped.

Warning: Disconnect the power cord from the shaver before cleaning it in water to prevent electric shock.

Keep both the inner blades inserted. If only one of the inner blades is inserted, the shaver may be damaged.

If you clean the shaver with water, do not use salt water or hot water. Do not soak the shaver in water for a long period of time.

Clean the housing only with a soft cloth slightly dampened with tap water or soapy tap water. Do not use thinner, benzine, alcohol, or other chemicals.

Store the PANASONIC ES-LT70 shaver in a place with low humidity after use.

Do not store the shaver where it will be exposed to direct sunlight or other heat sources.

Disconnect the power cord when storing the shaver. Do not bend the power cord or wrap it around the shaver.

Properly store or dispose of the plastic bag of the appliance to avoid accidents such as infant suffocation. Keep the plastic bag and oil away from children.

Safety Precautions:

Do not clean the adaptor or the self-cleaning recharger in water as it will damage them or cause an electric shock.

Do not remove the shaver from the self-cleaning recharger while using a course that includes the “Dry” function. A heater is used, and the area around the blades becomes extremely hot, which may cause burns.

Place the self-cleaning recharger on a level and stable surface. Otherwise, the cleaning liquid may spill and discolor leather products or other surfaces. Wipe any spills immediately.

Optimal Conditions:

Use the self-cleaning recharger in temperatures between 15 °C and 35 °C. Outside of this range, the recharger may stop functioning or the battery lifespan may shorten.

Use the self-cleaning recharger in humidity less than 95%.

Depending on the environment, the shaver may not dry completely even on the “Dry/Charge” course. In this case, wipe off any drops of water with a dry cloth.

The self-cleaning recharger cleans the inner blades and the system outer foil. For beard trimmings in other areas, use a brush or wash with water.

Use the lock ring to lock or unlock the power switch. Rotate the lock ring until it clicks.

Unlock the power switch: For when shaving, washing the shaver, or lubricating the shaver.

Lock the power switch: For when carrying the shaver.

Thoroughly wipe off any drops of water on or around the self-cleaning recharger so that it is dry before charging.

1. Insert the appliance plug into the self-cleaning recharger.

2. Plug in the adaptor.

3. Remove the protective cap and then attach the shaver.

The “Charge” course starts automatically when attaching the shaver. Ensure the shaver is turned off before attaching and check that the outer foil is not deformed or damaged. Charging is completed after approximately 1 hour. You can charge even if the STATUS lamp of the recharger is blinking. You can keep the shaver attached to maintain full battery capacity without overcharging.

1. Insert the appliance plug into the shaver.

2. Plug the adaptor into a household outlet.

Yes, you can use the PANASONIC ES-LT70 for cord shaving. If you insert the appliance plug into the shaver and plug the adaptor into a household outlet, you can use it even if the battery capacity is low. If the shaver does not work immediately, continue charging it for approximately 1 minute before use.

While charging:

The charge status lamp glows. The number of the battery capacity lamp will increase as charging progresses, showing levels from 20 to 100.

After charging is completed:

All the battery capacity lamps will light up and then turn off after 5 seconds.

Charging Notes:

Recommended ambient temperature for charging is 15-35 °C. The battery may degrade or not charge in extreme temperatures. The charge status lamp will blink if there is a problem with charging.

When charging for the first time or after more than 6 months of non-use, the charge status lamp may not glow immediately. It will eventually glow if kept connected.

1. Rotate the lock ring to unlock the power switch and press the power switch to turn the shaver on.

2. Hold the shaver at a 90-degree angle to your skin.

Start out shaving by applying gentle pressure to your face. Stretch your skin with your free hand and move the PANASONIC ES-LT70 shaver back and forth in the direction of your beard. You may gently increase the amount of pressure as your skin becomes accustomed to the shaver. Applying excessive pressure does not provide a closer shave.

While using:

The approximate amount of battery charge is displayed as 20 – 100 (%). The lamps will turn off approximately 5 seconds after operating the switch.

When using cord shaving, the charge status lamp glows.

When the battery capacity is low:

“20%” blinks when operating the shaver. After “20%” appears, you can shave 2 to 3 more times. A full charge will supply enough power for approximately 14 shaves of 3 minutes each.

Pivot Action Selector:

Use the selector to choose between “SOFT” (soft) or “LOCK” (lock) for the shaver head’s pivot action. You can change the pivot action whether the shaver is turned on or off.

Using the Trimmer:

Slide the trimmer handle up. Place the trimmer at a right angle to your skin and move downwards to trim your sideburns.

First, remove the shaver and the appliance plug from the self-cleaning recharger.

1. Remove the water tank and then open the water tank cap.

2. Wash away the old cleaning liquid and then rinse the water tank.

3. Pour tap water into the water tank up to the maximum water line. Do not let the water rise above the line, as this may cause the cleaning liquid to spill.

4. Securely close the water tank cap and then attach the tank to the recharger.

5. Peel off the two seals from the new detergent cartridge. Hold the cartridge horizontally to prevent spillage.

6. Attach the detergent cartridge to the recharger.

Keep the detergent cartridge out of reach of children.

Only use the cartridge to clean the blades of electric shavers.

Carry out emergency measures if the cleaning agent enters the mouth or eyes, and consult a doctor.

Replace the detergent cartridge when the status lamp is illuminated.

The expiration date of the cleaning liquid is 6 months after opening. If not used for more than 6 months, throw it away.

Only use self-cleaning recharger detergent for Panasonic shavers.

Always change the detergent cartridge and the cleaning liquid in the water tank at the same time. Adding water or changing only one component will result in deteriorated cleaning functions.

1. Insert the appliance plug into the self-cleaning recharger and plug in the adaptor.

2. Remove the protective cap and attach the shaver. Ensure the shaver is off and the foil is not damaged.

3. Press the SELECT button to choose the desired course. Each press cycles the course from “Clean/Dry/Charge” to “Dry/Charge” to “Charge”.

The selected course will start approximately 6 seconds after selection. The course will be aborted if the power is cut off. Do not detach the detergent cartridge or water tank during operation.

The following courses are available:

* When the ambient temperature of the self-cleaning recharger is low (approx. 15 °C or lower).

It is not possible to change the course after the “Clean/Dry/Charge” course has started. It is possible to change to the “Clean/Dry/Charge” course even after the “Dry/Charge” course has started.

If the status lamp blinks:

Correctly set the detergent cartridge and then restart a course. If the status lamp goes out, continue the course.

If the status lamp glows (is solid):

Remove the shaver from the recharger and check that the [CLEAN] lamp has gone out. (Be careful as the blade may be hot or wet.) Check that the water tank is correctly attached, the water tank cap is securely closed, and the self-cleaning recharger is placed horizontally.

If an abnormality has been corrected:

Remove the adaptor from the self-cleaning recharger, and restart the course after reinserting. If the status lamp goes out, continue the course.

If no abnormality was found:

It is time to replace the detergent cartridge and cleaning liquid. Wash away the old liquid, rinse the water tank, and refill it with water. Replace the old detergent cartridge and restart the course.

If the status lamp glows again:

Contact an authorized service center.

This is the sonic vibration cleaning mode. You cannot shave in this mode.

1. Disconnect the power cord from the shaver.

2. Apply some hand soap and some water to the outer foil.

3. Rotate the lock ring to unlock the power switch.

4. Press the power switch for more than 2 seconds to activate the sonic vibration cleaning mode. The battery capacity lamps blink in order. After about 20 seconds, it will automatically turn off, or you can turn it off by pressing the power switch.

5. Remove the outer foil section and press the power switch for more than 2 seconds to activate the sonic vibration cleaning mode and clean it with running water.

6. Wipe off any drops of water with a dry cloth.

7. Dry the outer foil section and the shaver completely.

8. Attach the outer foil section to the shaver.

9. Lubricate the shaver.

To maintain shaving comfort, it is recommended that you use the provided oil.

1. Switch off the shaver.

2. Apply one drop of oil to each of the outer foils.

3. Raise the trimmer and apply a drop of oil.

4. Switch the shaver on, and run it for approximately five seconds.

5. Switch off the shaver, and wipe off any excess oil from the outer foils with a soft cloth.

It is not necessary to oil the blades after cleaning the shaver with the self-cleaning recharger, as lubricant is included in the cleaning detergent.

Use the short brush to clean the inner blades by moving it in direction (A) as shown in the manual’s diagram.

Use the long brush to clean the system outer foil, the shaver body, and the trimmer.

Caution: Do not move the short brush in direction (B) as it will damage the inner blades and affect their sharpness. Do not use the short brush to clean the outer foils.

To maintain the shaving performance of your PANASONIC ES-LT70, follow this replacement schedule:

Replacement parts are available at your dealer or a Service Center.

1. Press the foil frame release buttons and lift the outer foil section upwards.

2. Press the system outer foil release buttons and pull down the system outer foil.

3. Align the foil frame mark and the system outer foil mark and securely attach them together. The system outer foil cannot be reversely attached.

4. After turning the foil frame mark to the front, securely attach the outer foil section to the shaver until it clicks.

1. Press the foil frame release buttons and lift the outer foil section upwards.

2. Remove the inner blades one at a time. Do not touch the edges (metal parts) of the inner blades to prevent injury.

3. Insert the new inner blades one at a time until they click.

Beard trimmings may become attached to the cleaning tray. It is recommended to do this each time you change the detergent cartridge.

1. Be sure to remove the water tank and the appliance plug from the self-cleaning recharger. Be careful not to spill the cleaning liquid.

2. Gently wipe off any beard trimmings attached to the inside of the cleaning tray with a cloth or tissue paper dampened with water. Clean the corners and uneven parts of the cleaning tray with a cotton swab dampened with water.

Warning: Do not wash or apply water to the adaptor or self-cleaning recharger. Failure to observe this may cause electric shock or result in short circuits. Do not pull hard on the rubber blade protector at the bottom of the cleaning tray; it is only necessary to pull it up slightly.

Beard trimmings may clog the drain at the bottom of the cleaning tray. In this case, you cannot clean or dry the shaver. To resolve this, push the beard trimmings down through the drain with a toothpick or similar object.

Remove the built-in rechargeable battery before disposing of the shaver. The battery should be disposed of at an officially designated location. Do not dismantle or replace the battery so that you can use the shaver again, as this could cause fire or an electric shock. Replace it at an authorized service center.

1. Disconnect the power cord from the shaver when removing the battery.

2. Perform the disassembly steps as indicated in the manual’s diagrams to lift the battery out, and then remove it.
