How do I connect the PARKER USB-DLA to a vehicle?
The cables and adapters in the PARKER USB-DLA kit provide 4 options to connect to your vehicle:
1. 9 pin J1939 vehicle diagnostic port connection.
2. 6 pin J1587/1708 vehicle diagnostic port connection.
3. 4 pin J1939 vehicle harness connection (ITT Cannon).
4. 3 pin J1939 vehicle harness connection (Deutsch).
For J1939/CAN public port types, it may be necessary to remove possible J1939/CAN customer terminators to connect.
What is the caution regarding the USB ground connection on the PARKER USB-DLA?
The USB ground is not isolated from the power ground. A computer connected to the USB port must be electrically floating and not have any connections to the outside world, including via the AC power adapter and/or the serial port.
Failure to observe this may result in damage to the DLA and the computer USB port.
