The main keys and their functions on your SONICTEL T84U are as follows:

• Cancel Key: Used to cancel actions.

• Volume Keys: Adjusts ringer volume when idle and call volume during a call.

• Navigation Keys: Used to navigate through menus and lists on the screen.

• Speakerphone Key: Toggles the speakerphone on or off.

• Redial Key / Transfer Key: Accesses the redial list or initiates a call transfer.

• Voicemail Key / Hold Key: Accesses voicemail messages or places a call on hold.

• Headset Key / Mute & UnMute Key: Activates headset mode or mutes/unmutes the microphone during a call.

You can place a call on your SONICTEL T84U using one of the following methods:

Using the handset:

1. Pick up the handset.

2. Enter the number, and then press the SEND soft key.

Using the speakerphone:

1. With the handset on-hook, press the speakerphone key.

2. Enter the number, and then press the SEND soft key.

Using the headset:

1. With the headset connected, press the headset key to activate headset mode.

2. Enter the number, and then press the SEND soft key.

Note: During a call, you can alternate between the headset, hands-free speakerphone, and handset modes by pressing the corresponding key or by picking up the handset. Headset mode requires a connected headset.

To answer a call on your SONICTEL T84U, you can use one of these methods:

• Using the handset: Pick up the handset.

• Using the speakerphone: Press the speakerphone key.

• Using the headset: Press the headset key.

Note: You can ignore an incoming call by pressing the REJECT soft key.

To end a call on your SONICTEL T84U, follow these instructions:

• Using the handset: Hang up the handset or press the CANCEL soft key.

• Using the speakerphone: Press the speakerphone key or the CANCEL soft key.

• Using the headset: Press the CANCEL soft key.

To redial a number on your SONICTEL T84U, you have two options:

1. Press the redial key to enter the placed call list. Use the navigation keys to select the desired entry, then press the redial key again or the SEND soft key to call.

2. Press the redial key twice when the phone is idle to automatically dial the last dialed number.

1. Press the Mute key to mute the microphone during a call.

2. Press the Mute key again to unmute the call.

To perform a private intercom:

1. Enter the extension number.

2. Press the SEND soft key.

To perform a direct announce intercom:

1. Enter 99 followed by the extension number.

2. Press the SEND soft key.

Note: To use the intercom with the handset, speakerphone, or headset, refer to the “Placing a Call” instructions.

To place a call on exclusive hold:

1. Press the HOLD soft key during an active call.

To resume the call, do one of the following:

1. If there is only one call on hold, press the RESUME soft key.

2. If there is more than one call on hold, use the navigation keys to select the call and press RESUME.

To place a call on company-wide hold (PARK):

1. Press an available PARK key during an active call.

To resume a parked call:

1. Press the PARK key associated with the parked call. The line key will be denoted by a steady red LED.

You can transfer a call on your SONICTEL T84U in the following ways:

Blind Transfer

1. Press the TRAN soft key during an active call. The call is placed on hold.

2. Enter the number you want to transfer to.

3. Press the BTRAN soft key.

Attendant Transfer

1. Press the TRAN soft key during an active call. The call is placed on hold.

2. Enter the number you want to transfer to, and press the SEND key.

3. After consulting with the second party, press the TRAN soft key again to complete the transfer.

Transfer to Voicemail

1. Press the TRAN soft key during an active call. The call is placed on hold.

2. Enter 7 followed by the mailbox number you want to transfer to.

3. Press the TRAN soft key.

To enable call forwarding on your SONICTEL T84U:

1. When the phone is idle, tap the menu icon, then navigate to Features -> Call Forward.

2. Select the desired forward type:

• Always Forward: Incoming calls are forwarded unconditionally.

• Busy Forward: Incoming calls are forwarded when the phone is busy.

• No Answer Forward: Incoming calls are forwarded if not answered after a period of time.

3. Enter the number you want to forward calls to. For No Answer Forward, tap the gray box for the After Ring Time field and select the desired ring time.

4. Press the SAVE soft key to accept the change.

1. Press the CONF soft key during an active call. The current call is placed on hold.

2. Enter the number of the second party, and then press the Send soft key.

3. Press the CONF soft key again when the second party answers. All parties are now joined in the conference.

4. Press the END CALL soft key to disconnect all parties and end the conference.

A message waiting indicator on the idle screen and a slowly flashing red power indicator LED mean you have one or more voice messages.

To listen to your voice messages:

1. Tap the voicemail icon on the screen and then tap Connect, or press the physical Voicemail key.

2. Follow the voice prompts to listen to your voice messages.

1. When the phone is idle, tap the history icon, and then tap the desired call list (e.g., All Calls, Placed, Received, Missed) on the left.

2. Use the on-screen arrows or the physical navigation keys to scroll to the desired page.

3. Tap the information icon after the desired entry to see the following options:

a. Tap Send to call the entry.

b. Tap Add to add the entry to the local directory.

c. Tap Edit to edit the phone number before placing a call.

d. Tap Blacklist to add the entry to the blacklist.

e. Tap Delete to delete the entry from the list.

1. When the phone is idle, tap the directory icon, and then tap All Contacts on the left.

2. Tap Add to add a new contact.

3. Enter a unique contact name in the Name field and contact numbers in the corresponding fields.

4. Tap the Save soft key to accept the change.

2. Tap the information icon after the desired contact.

3. Edit the contact information.

4. Tap the Save soft key to accept the change.

3. Tap OK when the touch screen prompts “Delete selected item?”.

• To adjust the receiver volume of the handset, speakerphone, or headset, press the volume keys during a call.

• To adjust the ringer volume, press the volume keys when the phone is idle.
