As soon as you receive the PARKER HYPERSEP SFH019P-097P, check its condition. If you notice any damage, inform the carrier immediately. Do not install or operate the damaged water separator; replace it immediately.

The PARKER HYPERSEP SFH019P-097P is typically installed on the compressed air/nitrogen outlet of aftercoolers or any other point where condensate needs to be separated.

• Do not install the water separator in an unenclosed environment. Install it in a ventilated area, away from heat sources and flammable materials.

• Support the water separator on suitable mountings to avoid stressing the inlet and outlet piping. No external loads are allowed on the inlet or outlet connection.

• Install one or more safety valves as necessary on the compressed air/nitrogen circuit to ensure that the maximum pressure of the water separator is never exceeded. The user must ensure the installation of safety valves complies with all applicable government and industry standards.

• If the circuit is subject to vibrations or pulsations, use appropriate dampers to connect the water separator.

• Ensure the compressed air/nitrogen does not contain corrosive gases. Take particular care in environments with high levels of Sulphur, Ammonia, Chlorine, and in marine applications.

• Take care to prevent accidental contact and burns when the unit is subject to temperatures exceeding 40°C.

• Install the water separator so that the compressed air/nitrogen flows in the direction indicated by the labels on the unit.

• Use appropriate industry standard counter flanges and gaskets to connect piping.

• Install an appropriate condensate drain. Note that carbon steel materials are subject to rusting. Ensure the condensate drain can remove rust particles from the separator with the condensate.

• Make sure that condensate drains can be visually checked for correct flow and are properly maintained.

• The water separator should not be subject to frequent pressure cycling exceeding 500 cycles from 0 to nominal pressure over its lifetime. Consider using a compressed air/nitrogen receiver to help avoid this.

• Ensure that the water separator is properly sized for the compressed air/nitrogen flow, pressure, and temperature.

• Verify that the condensate collected within the water separator is being completely drained.

• Verify corrosion of the water separator periodically, at least once per year, by measuring its thickness. The thickness must not be less than the minimum values shown in the specification table.

• **IMPORTANT:** If the water separator’s thickness falls below the minimum level, it must be immediately removed from service and replaced.

• **IMPORTANT:** Welding, grinding, or any other modification is strictly forbidden and will invalidate the warranty.

• It is recommended to contact qualified personnel certified by a third-party organization according to EN 14127:2011 requirements.

• An ultrasonic thickness tester suitable for use with painted surfaces should be used.

• Compare all measured results to the minimum values indicated in the table below. Measured results should be documented and saved.

• Separators with wall thicknesses less than the minimum values given should immediately be removed from service and replaced.

• Repeat the measurements at least every 12 months, measuring at the same positions on the water separator. Increase the frequency of measurement if the values are nearing the minimums.
