- Ensure the machine is properly assembled and working correctly.
- DO NOT allow use by minors, untrained personnel, or individuals with limitations affecting safe operation.
- Ensure the workspace is clean and flat.
- Keep the area around the machine dry, well-ventilated, and environmentally controlled to 50–95°F (10-35°C) and 10-95% humidity.
- DO NOT leave the machine unattended during operation.
When should I stop the machine and cut power immediately?
Stop using the machine and cut off the power immediately in the following situations:
- A burning smell is detected coming from the machine.
- Open flames or sparks are observed being generated from the engraving material.
- Any components of the machine appear to be damaged or malfunctioning.
- Unexpected cessation of machine operation for no clear reason.
- Abnormal sounds, smoke, or unusual lighting are emitted from the machine.
What laser class is the LP5 Basic, and when is it Class 1?
The LP5 Basic is a Class 4 laser system. When assembled and locked with a safety enclosure, the laser system becomes Class 1.
What are the risks associated with the laser?
The active laser and its reflections can rapidly cause fires, burns, and permanent vision damage. During operation, the materials being engraved or cut may release toxic and harmful gases or fumes, which can pose health and environmental risks depending on the material’s type and composition.
When should I wear safety goggles?
You need to wear safety goggles that can shield your eyes from the laser beams if the protective cover or safety enclosure cannot fully cover the object being engraved. Under normal circumstances, the laser is blocked by the protective cover or safety enclosure during operation, provided it is installed properly.
Is an air purifier recommended?
Yes, to ensure safe use, it is recommended to use this machine with an air purifier (purchased separately) to effectively absorb and filter any toxic or harmful gases and fumes generated during engraving or cutting.
Under what conditions should the laser NOT be used?
DO NOT use this laser in dewy, dusty, or high-EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) conditions where the active laser might easily be deflected or reflected.
What are the electrical safety requirements?
- Only use the machine with stable and compatible power sources.
- This machine requires a 24V/7.5A power adapter. Failure to use the compatible adapter can result in malfunction.
- Do not allow any electronic component to become wet.

How do I focus the LaserPecker LP5 using the Dual Red Dots (Manual Focusing)?
1. Place the material you want to engrave onto the Base Plate under the Laser Unit.
2. In the LaserPecker App or PC software, initiate the preview mode or specifically turn on the “red dots focusing” mode (check machine settings). This will project two red dots onto the material surface from the Laser Unit.
3. Use the ‘Up’ and ‘Down’ buttons on the Electric Stand to adjust the height of the Laser Unit.
4. Watch the two red dots on the material. Continue adjusting the height until the two dots merge and overlap perfectly into a single point.
5. When the dots coincide, the laser is correctly focused for that material height.
How do I use the Emergency Stop button?
If any errors, machine faults, or dangerous situations occur during material processing, immediately press the large red Emergency Stop button located on the side of the Laser Unit. This will cut power to the laser and stop the engraving process. The Laser Unit Indicator will turn solid red.
How can I engrave using a USB Flash Drive?
1. Prepare your project files and save them in the compatible format (.lpb) onto a USB flash drive.
2. Insert the flash drive into the USB Port for Flash Drive (Port 7) on the Laser Unit.
3. Using the LaserPecker mobile App or PC software (while connected to the LP5), navigate to the option to select files from the USB drive.
4. Choose the desired .lpb file. You should be able to preview the design.
5. Position your material and set the focus correctly.
6. Start the engraving process from the App or PC software.
How does the Operation Access Control (Security Key) work?
The Security Key acts as a physical lock for the machine’s operation.
- To Lock:** Remove the Security Key from its slot (Port 2) on the Laser Unit. This prevents the machine from performing processing and related functions, effectively locking it to prevent unauthorized use.
- To Unlock:** Insert the Security Key fully into its slot. This enables the processing and related functions, allowing the machine to be used normally.
How do I set up the LaserPecker LP5 for Bevel Engraving?
1. Locate the side knob on the Electric Stand arm where the Laser Unit is mounted.
2. Loosen this knob by turning it clockwise. This allows the Laser Unit to tilt.
3. Adjust the angle of the Laser Unit to your desired angle for bevel engraving.
4. Once the desired angle is set, tighten the knob firmly by turning it counterclockwise to fix the Laser Unit in that position.
How do I use accessories like the Rotary Extension or Slide Extension?
Accessories like the Rotary Extension or Slide Extension need to be purchased separately. For usage:
1. Refer to the specific instruction manual provided with the accessory.
2. Follow the accessory instructions carefully for proper installation, positioning of the accessory and your material, and connecting any necessary cables (usually to the designated accessory USB port – Port 4 – on the Laser Unit).
How can I perform Batch Processing efficiently?
For engraving multiple identical items (batch processing), use the included L-shaped Positioners:
1. Determine the exact placement for your material on the Base Plate.
2. Place the L-shaped Positioners against the edges of your material in that position.
3. Secure the positioners firmly to the Base Plate by tightening the screws on the positioners.
4. This creates a fixed jig, allowing you to remove the engraved item and place a new blank item in the exact same spot quickly and consistently for each subsequent engraving.
How do I clean the Field Lens?
If you notice laser power attenuation (e.g., engraved patterns are shallow or uneven), the Field Lens (the lens visible at the bottom of the Laser Unit) may be dirty. To clean it:
1. Ensure the machine is powered off and disconnected from power.
2. Moisten a lint-free cloth (like a microfiber cloth used for eyeglasses) with isopropyl alcohol.
3. Gently wipe the surface of the Field Lens to remove any dust or residue. Avoid scratching the lens.
How do I clean the Conical Protective Cover Exhaust Fan?
If smoke runs out of the protective cover instead of being exhausted properly, the exhaust fan and smoke outlet may be blocked by dust or residue.
1. Ensure the machine is powered off and disconnected.
2. Locate the screws holding the exhaust fan assembly onto the Conical Protective Cover.
3. Use a suitable screwdriver to unscrew and remove the fan assembly.
4. Carefully clean the fan blades and the smoke outlet area to remove any buildup. A small brush or compressed air might be helpful.
5. Reassemble the fan onto the cover, ensuring it is securely fastened.
How do I clean the Dust Filter?
1. Locate the filter cover on the left side of the Laser Unit body.
2. Remove this cover (it may snap or slide off).
3. Take out the dust filter located underneath the cover.
4. Clean the dust filter by shaking it out, vacuuming it gently, or using compressed air if there is dust buildup.
5. Reinsert the cleaned filter and replace the cover.
*Note: The filter grill on the right side of the Laser unit is an air intake and the filter behind it cannot be removed for cleaning.*
How do I level the Laser Unit?
It is recommended to level the Laser Unit before use for optimal performance. If the unit appears tilted side-to-side:
1. Locate the two small leveling screws on the top side of the cantilever arm (the part of the electric stand holding the Laser Unit).
2. Use the H2 hex key (included in the tool box) to adjust these screws.
3. Make small adjustments to the screws, checking the levelness of the Laser Unit (you might use a small bubble level or judge by eye relative to the base plate) until it sits level horizontally.
