When using the IFM E30483 filter cover, please adhere to the following safety instructions:

• Read the operating instructions before setting up the product and keep them for the entire service life.

• Ensure the product is suitable for the corresponding applications and environmental conditions without any restrictions.

• Only use the product for its intended purpose.

• Only use the product with permissible media as specified in the technical data.

• Failure to adhere to the operating instructions or technical data may result in personal injury and/or property damage.

• The manufacturer assumes no liability or warranty for consequences caused by tampering with the product or incorrect use by the operator.

• Installation, set-up, operation, and maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel authorized by the machine operator.

• Protect units, accessories, and cables against damage.

The different protective elements (filter covers) in the IFM E30483 series are designed for use with pressure sensors that have screwed pressure compensation elements. Their purpose is to prevent the soiling of the ventilation diaphragm in harsh environments.

The following optional filter covers and accessories are available:

(1) Accessory E30483 (with drip edge) or E30142 (without drip edge):

This is a filter cover with an integrated ventilation diaphragm.

(2) Accessory E30148:

This is a closed version of the filter cover. It is important to observe the operating instructions of the sensor when using this accessory.

(3) Set of accessories E30139:

This set includes a filter cover with an integrated ventilation diaphragm and a tube fitting with a vent tube.

(4) Set of accessories E30467:

This set is designed for demanding applications. It consists of an adapter with an integrated ventilation diaphragm, a tube fitting that is directly inserted into a right-angle fitting, or with a vent tube placed in between.

Before installing a new filter cover, you must remove the existing one. Ensure that the sensor is not subjected to moisture during this process.

Step 1. Use an appropriate tool to remove the existing filter cover (A).

Step 2. Pull the ventilation diaphragm (C) off the base (B).

The sensor is now prepared for the installation of the optional filter covers.

To install the filter cover E30483 or E30142, follow these steps:

Important: Use a filter cover with the same design as the original part.

Step 1. Remove the existing filter cover and ventilation diaphragm.

Step 2. Screw the new filter cover with its integrated ventilation diaphragm (1) onto the base (B).

Step 3. Tighten the cover using a spanner (across flats 11) to a tightening torque of 2.5…3.5 Nm.

Step 4. Ensure the filter cover is oriented correctly for condensate drainage.

To install the closed filter cover E30148:

Step 1. Remove the existing filter cover and ventilation diaphragm.

Step 2. Screw the closed filter cover (2) onto the base (B).

Step 3. Tighten the cover using a spanner (across flats 11) to a tightening torque of 2.5…3.5 Nm.

Important Considerations:

• Please ensure that the application is suitable for use without active pressure compensation.

• The closed filter cover does not allow any pressure compensation for the relative pressure meter.

• The internal pressure of the sensor will change by 35 mbar for every 10 K of temperature change.

• This closed filter cover is recommended only for harsh environments and applications where decreased accuracy is acceptable.

To install the filter cover E30139:

Step 1. Remove the existing filter cover.

Step 2. Screw the filter cover (3) with integrated ventilation diaphragm onto the base (B).

Step 3. Tighten the cover using a spanner (across flats 11) to a torque of 2.5…3.5 Nm.

Step 4. Attach the provided tube (L = 0.5 m, internal diameter 3 mm, polyamide) onto the filter cover (3) and place the free end of the tube in a protected area.

The E30467 set provides enhanced protection against heavy soiling, excess condensate, or high air humidity. It can be assembled in different ways.

Components of the E30467 set:

5: Plug-in element with integrated ventilation diaphragm

Installation of the primary protective element:

Step 1. Remove the existing filter cover.

Step 2. Mount the adapter (1) and the tube connection (2) to the threaded ferrule (6).

Step 3. Loosen the locking screw (8) and turn the tube connection so that the venting faces downwards.

Step 4. Tighten the locking screw (8) with a torque of 2.5 … 3.5 Nm.

Installation of the secondary protective element (Two options):

Plug-in Version:

Step 1. Install the primary protective element as described above.

Step 2. Push the plug-in element (3) into the tube connection (2) until the end stop is reached.

Step 3. Loosen the locking screw (8) and turn the tube connection into a horizontal position, ensuring the ventilation diaphragm in the plug-in element is in a vertical position.

Step 4. Tighten the locking screw with 2.5 … 3.5 Nm.

Tube Version:

Step 1. Install the primary protective element.

Step 2. Push the vent tube (4) with its plug-in element (5) into the tube connection (2) until the end stop is reached. Ensure the tube is not kinked or blocked.

Step 3. Fix the tube end with the plug-in element in a horizontal position, so that the ventilation diaphragm in the plug-in element (5) is in a vertical position.

Note: The tube version can also be used without the plug-in element; in this case, the open tube end must face downwards. A tube of any length can be used.

To ensure proper drainage of condensate due to gravity, select the installation orientation carefully:

• Ideal orientation (1): The filter cover is in a horizontal position.

• For ideal orientation, the ventilation diaphragm (2) inside the filter cover should be in a vertical position.

• The maximum allowed inclination of the filter cover is 30° (3).

After use, dispose of the unit in an environmentally friendly way in accordance with the applicable national regulations. If returning the unit, ensure it is free from soiling, especially from dangerous and toxic substances.
