Additionally, please note:

• “Long” paper is paper with a length of 488 mm or more.

• There are two paper loading directions: LEF (Short side: Length, Long side: Width) and SEF (Long side: Length, Short side: Width). The feeding direction for the High Capacity Feeder and Paper Tray 5 (Bypass) is opposite to the standard trays.

• Some functions mentioned may not be available depending on the model and installed optional units.

• “WSD” stands for “Web Services on Devices”.

• “XPS” stands for “XML Paper Specification”.

The following table describes the components located on the front of the FUJIFILM APEOS C7580 and their functions.

The components on the left side and rear of the FUJIFILM APEOS C7580 are as follows:

LAN connection:

When connecting to the network port, ensure the machine power is switched off.

Note: If a connection failure occurs, it may be improved by setting [Disabled] in [Settings] > [Network Settings] > [Protocol Settings] > [Ethernet Settings] > [Energy Efficient Ethernet] in the System Administrator mode.

USB connection:

When connecting to a USB connector, ensure the machine power is switched off.

The FUJIFILM APEOS C7580 has several defined print areas:

Image Loss Width (mm)

There is an unprintable area (image loss area) along all four edges of the paper. The image loss widths are 4.0 mm at the lead edge, 4.0 mm at the trail edge, 3.0 mm at the top edge, and 3.0 mm at the bottom edge.

Guaranteed Print Area (mm)

This is the area for which image quality is guaranteed.

Standard Printable Area (mm)

Extended Printable Area (mm)

Changing settings enables you to print over the standard 4.1 mm margin.

To change the printable area settings on your FUJIFILM APEOS C7580, follow these steps:

1. Login to the System Administrator Mode.

2. Tap the Tools icon, then go to [Settings] > [App Settings] > [Print Settings] > [Other Settings] > [Print Area] > [Extended].

You can also change these settings from [Tray / Output] > [Edge Erase / Print Position] > [Margins] of the ART EX printer driver.

Note:

• For paper size A3 or smaller, the extended printable area is equal to the guaranteed print area.

• For paper sizes larger than A3, the image quality for the portion of the extended printable area that exceeds the guaranteed print area is not guaranteed.

The following paper types are recommended for use with the FUJIFILM APEOS C7580.

Standard paper

Recycled paper

To use paper other than the above, please contact your local representative.

To prevent machine malfunction on your FUJIFILM APEOS C7580, avoid using the following types of paper:

• Paper using ink that deteriorates with fusing heat

• Damp paper, damp and wavy paper

• Ink jet printer paper

• Paper with 12 mm or greater curl

• Business card size paper

• Thermal paper, heat-transfer paper

• Wrinkled or folded paper

• Envelopes with windows

There are more types of unusable paper other than the above. For details, contact your local representative.

Storing paper:

Follow these guidelines as paper is susceptible to moisture and can be easily deformed.

• Store paper in a place of low humidity. Paper that has absorbed moisture can cause paper jams or poor image quality.

• Using paper stored in a low-temperature environment may cause fusing failures. Storing paper in an environment where the temperature is 16°C or higher is recommended.

• Coated paper stored in a high-temperature, high-humidity environment may cause misfeeding or double-feeding.

• After opening a package of paper, seal and store the remaining paper in a moisture-proof wrapper or a reclosable plastic bag.

• To prevent bending or warping, store paper flat. Do not store it upright.

• Do not store paper under direct sunlight.

Handling paper:

• Do not use collected pieces of paper.

• Do not use wrinkled or folded paper.

• Do not load paper of different sizes or types in the same tray.

• Before loading paper into the tray, fan a stack of paper well to prevent paper jams and double-feeding, especially for transparency films, films, and coated paper.

First, be aware of the loadable paper specifications for Trays 1 and 2:

Follow these steps to load paper:

1. Pull out the Paper Tray until it stops.

2. If paper is already loaded, take it out.

3. When loading paper of size JIS B4 or larger, pinch the knob, lift the paper rear end guide, and set the guide into the hole for the indicated size.

4. Pinch the two Guide Clips and adjust them to the correct paper size.

5. Fan a stack of paper, face the print surface down, and load the paper with edges aligned according to the direction of the arrow. Important: Do not load paper above the maximum fill line.

6. Push in the Paper Tray.

For special media:

• Hole punched paper: Load with holes facing the left side when viewed from the front.

• Postcards: Load with SEF (Short Edge Feed) orientation.

• Envelopes:
• Flaps open: Flaps come at the right when viewed from the front.
• Flaps closed: Flaps come at the left when viewed from the front. Load envelopes with glue or seal with the flap closed.

The paper feeding method is the same for Paper Tray 3 (left) and 4 (right). The bottom face of the paper is the printed surface. Here are the loadable paper specifications:

To load paper:

1. Pull out the Paper Tray until it stops.

2. If paper is already in the tray, remove it.

3. Pinch the guide clip and adjust to the correct paper size.

4. Fan a stack of paper, face the print surface down, and load it with edges aligned to the arrow’s direction. Important: Do not load paper above the maximum fill line.

5. Push in the Paper Tray.

For hole punched paper: Load paper with holes facing the left side when viewed from the front of the machine.

Paper Tray 5 (Bypass) is for various paper sizes and types not usable in Trays 1-4. The top face of the loaded paper is the printed surface. The specifications are:

Loading Standard Paper:

1. Open the Paper Tray.

2. Fan a stack of paper, face the print surface up, and insert it gently along the Paper Guide until it stops. Important: Do not set documents above the maximum fill line.

3. Pinch the lock to slide the Paper Guide to the correct paper size.

Loading Long Paper:

Load one sheet at a time. An optional Long Paper Inserter can prevent skewed feeding.

1. Open the Paper Tray.

2. Face the print surface down, and insert the paper gently under the Paper Tray until it stops.

3. Insert the trail edge of the paper into the Paper Tray.

4. Adjust the Paper Guide to the correct paper size.

For special media:

• Hole punched paper: Load with holes facing the right side when viewed from the front.

• Postcards: Load with SEF orientation.

• Envelopes:
• Flaps open: Flaps come at the left when viewed from the front.
• Flaps closed: Flaps come at the right when viewed from the front. Load envelopes with glue/seal with the flap closed. The loadable envelope size is up to 428 mm in length.

The specifications for loadable paper in the Document Feeder are:

Note: With the Fax Kit, the loadable paper length is up to 600 mm.

Follow these steps:

1. Open the Document Cover.

2. Wipe any dirt from the glass strip and white plastic area on the left side of the Document Glass.

3. Close the Document Cover.

4. Ensure the document is free of tags, tape, staples, and clips. Straighten any wrinkles or folds.

5. Align the upper left corner of the document for correct size detection.

6. Load the document face up (front side up for 2-sided documents) in the center of the Document Feeder. Important: Do not exceed the maximum fill line.

7. When the confirmation indicator lights up, move the document guide to align with both edges of the document.

8. Open the Document Stopper.

The specifications for loadable paper on the Document Glass are:

Follow these steps:

1. Open the Document Cover and wipe off any dirt from the Document Glass.

2. Load the document face down, aligned with the upper left corner of the Document Glass.

3. Close the Document Cover.

The output tray capacity for the FUJIFILM APEOS C7580 varies by paper size and tray type. The capacity can also be affected by paper weight, paper type, single/double-sided printing, and image density.

A4 paper capacity

Papers other than A4 in the Long Catch Tray

Important: When paper exceeding the tray capacity is loaded, the Extension Tray may get broken.

Extension Tray:

Insert 2 extension trays until they stop. Pass them over the guide at the rear side of the tray until they stop.

Thin paper loading wire:

Install the wire when it is difficult to load thin paper.

• The tray capacity with the wire is 10 sheets.

• Paper with a width of 256 mm or less cannot be used.

• Supported paper weights are from 82 to 127 g/m².

Installation:

1. Install the wires on the extension tray. While holding the extension tray, insert the fixing devices firmly and check that the wires will not come off.

2. Adjust the wire positions by aligning the wires with the triangle marks.

When not using the kit:

Hang the kit on the holder at the side.

The Catch Tray Fan helps prevent output sheets from sticking together. It has a knob to adjust airflow. Leave the scale at “0” if papers do not stick.

Note:

• In a high-temperature environment or with a large volume of paper, sheets are more likely to stick. Increase airflow by turning the knob to the right by 1 to 2 scales.

• If papers still stick, keep the number of papers on the Top Output Tray below 50 sheets.

• Even for paper larger than A4, if they stick heavily, set the airflow for A4 or smaller papers.

Use only recommended consumables for the best print quality and performance. The consumable types are:

• Toner Cartridge [K] (Black)

• Toner Cartridge [C] (Cyan)

• Toner Cartridge [M] (Magenta)

• Toner Cartridge [Y] (Yellow)

• Drum Cartridge (YMCK)

• Waste Toner Container

Handling Consumables:

• Do not store boxes of consumables upright.

• Do not unpack consumables before use. Avoid storing them in high temperature/humid locations, near heat-generating devices, in direct sunlight, or in dusty areas.

• Carefully read precautions on the consumable packaging before use.

• It is recommended to keep spare consumables in stock.

Replacing Consumables:

To check consumable status, tap the tools icon > [Device Status] > [Supplies]. When a consumable reaches its end of life, a message appears on the display. Follow the replacement steps provided on the consumable’s box.

Note:

• Keep the machine power on when replacing Toner Cartridges.

• When replacing a toner cartridge or Waste Toner Container, place paper on the floor to prevent spills.

• Do not take out or shake the Waste Toner Container before it is full, as this can affect accurate detection and may cause toner to spill.

When cleaning, use a soft, moistened, and tightly-squeezed cloth. Do not use chemicals like benzine or thinner.

Exterior:

1. Wipe the exterior with a soft, moistened, and tightly-squeezed cloth. For stubborn stains, use a cloth slightly moistened with a thin neutral detergent solution.

2. Wipe off any moisture with a dry soft cloth.

Touch Panel Display:

Wipe lightly with a dry soft cloth. If using a wet cloth, wipe lightly with a soft, moistened, and tightly-squeezed cloth. Important: Wiping the panel strongly may damage it.

LED Printhead:

Clean the LED printheads when you replace the Waste Toner Container or Drum Cartridge.

1. Confirm the machine is not operating and open the Front Cover.

2. Turn the handle of the Toner Conveyance Box to the left.

3. Push the knobs on both sides inward, pull out the Conveyance Box, and place it on the floor.

4. Slide the cleaning bar from the back of the Front Cover. With the arrow (↑) facing down, insert the bar until it stops, then pull it out slowly. Repeat this two to three times for each LED printhead.

5. Place the cleaning bar back in its original position.

6. Return the Toner Conveyance Box and turn the handle to the right.

7. Close the Front Cover.

Scanner (Document cover, Document Glass, film, scanner glass):

Wipe off dirt with the supplied cloth about once a month. For stubborn stains, use a soft cloth slightly moistened with a thin neutral detergent solution.

Document Feeder rollers:

Clean about once a month.

1. Pull up the front handle of the Top Cover of the Document Feeder and open it until it stops.

2. While turning the rollers, wipe them with a soft cloth slightly moistened with water.

3. Close the Top Cover, ensuring no gap on the front or rear.

If a paper jam occurs, the machine will stop and an alarm will sound. Follow the instructions on the screen. Gently remove the paper, avoiding tearing. If it tears, remove all pieces. Printing will resume after the jam is cleared. For copying, tap [Start] to resume.

Note: Check the jam position before pulling out a tray. Clear jams while the machine is on. Do not touch internal components to avoid print defects.

Inside Lower Left Cover:

1. Open the Lower Left Cover.

2. Remove the jammed paper.

3. Close the Lower Left Cover.

Right side:

1. Open the Lower Right Cover.

2. Remove the jammed paper.

3. Close the Lower Right Cover.

Paper Trays 1, 2:

1. Pull out the affected Paper Tray until it stops.

2. Remove the jammed paper.

3. Push in the Paper Tray.

Paper Trays 3, 4:

1. Pull out the affected Paper Tray until it stops.

2. Remove the jammed paper.

3. Pull out Tray 3 and Tray 4.

4. Pull out unit [C], then open the handle and remove the jammed paper.

5. Close the handle and push in the Paper Tray.

Paper Tray 5 (Bypass):

1. Remove the jammed paper. If the control panel instructs you to cut the paper, do so without pulling it, then tap [Confirm].

2. Open the Upper Cover of Paper Tray 5 (Bypass) to remove all paper pieces.

3. Close the Upper Cover.

To clear a jam in the Duplex Automatic Document Feeder, follow these steps:

1. Remove all documents from the Document Tray.

2. Pull up the front handle of the Top Cover and open it until it stops.

3. Open the Left Cover until it stops.

4. Remove the document.

5. If the document is caught in the entry, remove the jammed paper from the Left Cover.

6. If the document is caught in the exit area, lift the Document Feeder Tray and pull the document toward the exit.

7. Put the Document Feeder Tray back into position.

8. Close the Upper Cover.

9. Close the Left Cover.

10. Open the Document Cover, pull down the handle to open the Side 2 scanner, and then remove the document.

11. Close the Side 2 scanner, then close the Document Cover.

Warning: The Fusing Unit is hot and may cause burn injury. Do not touch this unit.

Before proceeding, check for any remaining paper in the machine covers, Bypass Tray, Exit, or optional units to prevent tearing.

1. Open the Front Cover.

2. Turn the handle [2] of the Transfer Unit to the right until it is horizontal, and pull the Transfer Unit out to the front until it stops.

3. Slowly pull out the paper in the arrow direction and remove it. Ensure no paper pieces remain.

4. Perform the operation displayed on the screen, which may include opening handles [2a], [2b], [2c], or [2d] to remove the jammed paper.

5. Push the Transfer Unit to the rearmost position and turn the handle [2] to the left.

6. Close the Front Cover.

The continuous copy speed (sheets/minute) for continuous 1-sided copy at same magnification (monochrome/color) is as follows:

Note: Speed may be reduced due to image quality adjustment or depending on document type and paper tray.

Basic Fax Function

Direct fax / Internet fax / IP fax (SIP)

These functions generally share specifications with the main Fax Function regarding document size, resolution, and applicable lines. Specific protocols are SMTP/POP3 for Internet fax and SIP/JT-T.38 for IP fax.
