Failure to follow installation instructions can cause damage to the shift knob.

STEP 1: Set parking brake.

STEP 2: Un-thread the original shift knob counter-clockwise. The original knob has thread lock compound and will be difficult to remove. Remove old thread lock compound from shifter shaft.

STEP 1: Thread the provided jam nut onto the shifter shaft. Start by setting the jam nut to 15.3mm/.602″ measured from the top of the shifter shaft to the top of the nut.

STEP 2: Thread the new shifter knob onto the shifter shaft until it meets the jam nut. Visually look at the shift knob pattern orientation. Remove the knob and adjust the jam nut up or down in 1/4 turn increments until orientation is satisfactory.

STEP 3: After satisfactory shift knob orientation is established, verify proper reverse lockout operation and functionality. Check that the top of the reverse lockout collar is covered by the shift knob. You should not have a gap between the two parts.

STEP 4: Remove shift knob. Record the current measured distance from the top of the shifter shaft to the top of the nut.

STEP 5: Remove the jam nut. Place Blue thread locking compound onto the shifter shaft threads just above your recorded jam nut measurement. Install the jam nut over the thread locking compound and set it at your recorded measurement. Install the shift knob.

Do not exceed a measured distance of 18mm/.709″ from the top of the shifter handle to the top of the jam nut or damage to the shift knob may occur.
