How do I turn on the machine for the first time and perform the initial rinse?
1. Attach the hot water spout (D6) to the connection nozzle (A17).
2. Place a container under the spout.
3. Plug the machine into the mains socket.
4. Press the ON/Standby button (B18).
5. The machine will heat up and may perform a brief self-test or rinse automatically.
6. Follow any initial setup prompts on the display (C1) if shown (e.g., language, water hardness).
7. To perform a manual rinse or dispense hot water, ensure the hot water spout is attached and a container is underneath, then press the hot water delivery button (C2).
8. Press the OK/BREW button (C7/B22) to start delivery. Allow water to dispense.
How do I adjust the coffee grinder?
Important: Only adjust the grinder adjustment dial (A1) while the coffee grinder is in operation (i.e., while making a coffee).
Turn the dial (A1) one click at a time towards ‘1’ for a finer grind (slower delivery, creamier coffee) or towards ‘7’ for a coarser grind (faster delivery).
The effect of the adjustment will only be noticeable after delivering at least 2 coffees.
How do I make coffee using coffee beans?
1. Make sure the machine is on and ready.
2. Open the beans container lid (A2) and fill the container (A3) with coffee beans. Close the lid.
3. Place one or two cups under the coffee spout (A16).
4. Adjust the height of the coffee spout (A16) so it is as close to the cup(s) as possible.
5. Select your desired coffee drink using the buttons (B1, B2, B3) or the selection dial (B21).
6. Select the desired coffee strength (aroma) using the aroma selection button (B19). The lights (B6, B7, B8) indicate the selected strength.
7. If making two cups, press the 2x button (C4).
8. Press the OK/BREW button (C7/B22) to start brewing.
How do I make coffee using pre-ground coffee?
Important: Never add pre-ground coffee when the machine is off. Only add one measuring scoop (D2) at a time. Only use the provided scoop. Do not add liquids to the funnel.
1. Make sure the machine is on and ready.
2. Press the aroma selection button (B19) repeatedly until the pre-ground coffee light (B9) illuminates.
3. Place a cup under the coffee spout (A16).
4. Open the lid of the pre-ground coffee funnel (A4).
5. Ensure the funnel (A5) is not blocked, then add one level measuring scoop (D2) of pre-ground coffee.
6. Close the funnel lid (A4).
7. Select your desired coffee drink (e.g., Espresso B1, Coffee B2, Long B3).
8. Press the OK/BREW button (C7/B22) to start brewing.
How do I prepare and make milk-based drinks like Cappuccino?
1. Open the milk container lid (E1).
2. Fill the milk container (E5) with cold milk (preferably skimmed or semi-skimmed), ensuring the level is between the MIN and MAX marks.
3. Close the milk container lid (E1). Make sure the milk intake tube (E2) is correctly inserted into the lid and immersed in the milk.
4. Remove the hot water spout (D6) if it is attached.
5. Attach the milk container to the cappuccino maker connection nozzle (A18). Push it firmly until it clicks or feels secure.
6. Place a sufficiently large cup under the coffee spout (A16) and the frothed milk spout (E4).
7. Turn the froth adjustment dial (E3) on the milk container lid to select the desired level of froth.
8. Select the desired milk drink, e.g., Cappuccino (B4), Latte Macchiato (B5), or use the Milk Menu (B20) and selection dial (B21).
9. Press the OK/BREW button (C7/B22) or the specific drink button to start preparation. The machine will dispense milk and/or coffee according to the selected recipe.
How do I use the CLEAN function for the milk container spout?
After preparing milk-based drinks, it is recommended to clean the milk circuit.
1. Leave the milk container attached to the machine.
2. Place a container under the frothed milk spout (E4).
3. Turn the froth adjustment dial (E3) on the milk container lid to the “CLEAN” position.
4. The machine may prompt you to confirm the cleaning cycle (the MILK CLEAN light B15 might flash). Press the OK/BREW button (C7/B22) to start.
5. The machine will deliver a small amount of hot water and steam through the milk spout to clean the internal circuit.
6. Once finished, turn the froth adjustment dial back to one of the froth settings or the INSERT position for storage.
7. Remember to regularly clean all components of the milk container thoroughly as described in the cleaning instructions.
How do I empty and clean the drip tray and coffee grounds container?
The machine indicates when the grounds container needs emptying (light B12 illuminates).
1. Make sure the machine is turned off, or at least not brewing.
2. Open the service door (A8) on the front/side.
3. Grasp the drip tray (A13) and pull it straight out of the machine. The coffee grounds container (A12) comes out with it.
4. Pull the coffee grounds container (A12) out from the drip tray assembly.
5. Empty the coffee grounds from the container (A12) and any water from the drip tray (A13). Check the red water level indicator (A15) on the drip tray before removal.
6. Wash the grounds container and drip tray with water and washing-up liquid. Dry them thoroughly.
7. Reassemble the grounds container into the drip tray.
8. Slide the complete drip tray assembly back into the machine until it clicks into place.
9. Close the service door (A8).
Important: Always empty the grounds container with the machine turned ON if possible, so the counter resets. If you empty it while OFF, the light may stay on until you remove and reinsert it with the machine ON.
How do I clean the coffee spouts?
How do I remove, clean, and reinsert the infuser?
Clean the infuser (A9) at least once a month.
1. Make sure the machine is turned OFF, preferably using the main power switch at the back (if available) or unplugging it, after turning off with the ON/Standby button (B18).
2. Open the infuser door (A8).
3. Press the two red release buttons located on the sides of the infuser inwards.
4. While pressing the buttons, pull the infuser straight outwards to remove it.
5. Soak the infuser in lukewarm water for about 5 minutes.
6. Rinse the infuser thoroughly under running tap water. Do NOT use soap or detergent as this can damage the infuser.
7. Use the cleaning brush (D5*) to remove any coffee residues from the infuser and its housing inside the machine.
8. After cleaning and drying slightly, slide the infuser (A9) back into its housing, ensuring it is positioned correctly on the internal support.
9. Push the infuser firmly on the “PUSH” symbol until it clicks securely into place.
10. Close the infuser door (A8).
How do I clean the milk container thoroughly?
Thoroughly clean the milk container (E5) and its components (E1, E2, E3, E4) after each use or at least daily when used.
1. Remove the milk container from the machine.
2. Remove the lid (E1).
3. Pull out the milk intake tube (E2).
4. Turn the froth adjustment dial (E3) counter-clockwise and pull it upwards to remove it.
5. Pull the frothed milk spout (E4) downwards or outwards (depending on model design) to detach it from the lid.
6. Wash all disassembled components (lid E1, tube E2, dial E3, spout E4) and the container (E5) thoroughly with hot water and mild washing-up liquid. A specific milk cleaning solution can also be used according to its instructions.
7. Pay special attention to the grooves and channels in the lid, dial, and spout. Use the cleaning brush (D5*) if necessary.
8. Rinse all parts thoroughly under running water.
9. Ensure all components are completely dry before reassembling the lid and container.
10. Reassemble the components: Insert the spout (E4), insert the dial (E3), insert the intake tube (E2).
11. Place the lid back on the container.
How do I clean the water tank?
1. Remove the water tank (A11) from the machine by pulling it outwards or upwards depending on the model.
2. Rinse the water tank regularly with fresh water.
3. If a water filter (D4*) is installed, remove it before washing the tank (follow filter instructions).
4. Avoid using abrasive sponges or detergents that could damage the tank.
5. Fill the tank with fresh water before reinserting it into the machine.
