1. Unpack the machine and ensure all components are present.

2. Make sure the steam knob is set to the 0 position. This is crucial for the entire first use operation.

3. Plug the machine into the mains socket.

4. Remove the water tank, fill it with fresh water up to the MAX line, and reinsert it into the machine.

5. Place a container under the hot water/steam spout.

6. Press the ON/OFF button.

7. The machine will indicate the need to deliver hot water. Turn the steam knob to the steam position (looks like a steam icon).

8. The machine will deliver hot water from the spout.

9. Once delivery stops, turn the steam knob back to the 0 position.

10. The machine will heat up, perform a quick rinse cycle, and then it will be ready for use.

1. Immerse the provided total hardness test strip in a glass of water for one second.

2. Remove the strip from the water and shake lightly.

3. Wait about one minute. Read the result by comparing the strip to the chart (1, 2, 3, or 4 squares indicate the hardness level).

4. Turn the machine on.

5. Press and hold the settings button (gear icon) for about 5 seconds until the setting lights come on.

6. Press the button corresponding to the water hardness level determined by the test strip (e.g., press the Espresso button for level 1, Coffee button for level 2, etc. – follow the light sequence shown in the guide).

7. Press the OK/x2 button to confirm the setting.

8. The machine is now programmed with the correct water hardness.

1. Ensure the machine is on and ready.

2. Fill the bean container with coffee beans.

3. Place one cup under the coffee spouts.

4. Press the button for your desired coffee type (e.g., Espresso, Coffee, Long, Doppio+, Americano – available options may vary depending on your specific model).

5. The machine will grind the beans and deliver the coffee into your cup.

2. Fill the bean container with coffee beans.

3. Place two cups under the coffee spouts.

4. Press the x2 button (the light comes on).

5. Press the Espresso button.

6. The machine will grind the beans and deliver two espressos.

2. Press the settings button repeatedly until the pre-ground coffee light (scoop icon) is selected.

3. Lift the lid of the pre-ground coffee funnel.

4. Ensure the funnel is not blocked, then add one level measure (use the provided scoop, do not exceed 1 MAX) of pre-ground coffee.

5. Place a cup under the coffee spouts.

6. Press the button for your desired coffee type (e.g., Espresso, Coffee, Long, Americano – available options may vary depending on your specific model).

7. The machine will deliver the coffee.

Note: Only make one cup at a time when using pre-ground coffee.

The coffee grinder adjustment dial is located inside the bean container. Only adjust the grinder setting while the coffee mill is in operation (during the grinding phase). Turn the dial click by click towards ‘1’ for a finer grind or towards ‘7’ for a coarser grind. The effect of this change will usually only be evident after making the next 2 coffees.

1. Pour about 100 ml of cold milk (around 5°C) into a jug.

2. Press the Steam button on the control panel. The light will flash.

3. Wait for the Steam light to become steady, indicating the machine has reached the correct temperature.

4. Place the jug with milk under the steam nozzle.

5. Turn the steam knob counter-clockwise to the steam position.

6. Immerse the nozzle slightly into the milk and froth it by moving the jug up and down until the desired froth is achieved. Do not deliver steam for more than 60 seconds.

7. Once finished, turn the steam knob clockwise back to the 0 position to stop steam delivery.

8. Clean the steam nozzle immediately after use with a sponge or cloth.

9. To make a cappuccino, first prepare an espresso in a larger cup, then add the frothed milk.

Water Tank: Remove the tank, rinse it with fresh water, refill, and reinsert.

Drip Tray and Coffee Grounds Container: When the “empty grounds container” light comes on (or after 72 hours), remove the drip tray assembly. Empty the grounds container and clean it. Empty and clean the drip tray base and grid. Reassemble and insert back into the machine.

Infuser: Turn the machine OFF using the ON/OFF button (not the mains switch). Open the infuser door on the side. Press the two red release buttons inwards and simultaneously pull the infuser outwards. Rinse the infuser under running water only, without using detergents. Clean the inside of the machine where the infuser was. Reinsert the infuser by sliding it onto the support until it clicks into place. Close the infuser door.

When the descaling light comes on steadily, it’s time to descale.

Preparation:

1. Turn the machine on.

2. Press and hold the settings button for about 5 seconds.

3. Press the OK/x2 button to select the descaling function.

4. Empty the drip tray and grounds container and put them back.

5. Empty the water tank completely.

6. Pour the descaler liquid (EcoDecalk) into the tank up to level A (marked on the tank), then add fresh water up to level B. Reinsert the water tank.

7. Place an empty container with a minimum capacity of 2 litres under the coffee spouts and the hot water/steam spout.

Descaling Cycle:

8. Turn the steam knob counter-clockwise to the steam position.

9. The descaling program starts, and the descaler liquid will flow out. The program performs a series of deliveries and pauses automatically.

Rinsing Cycle:

10. The machine will stop and indicate that rinsing is needed. Empty the container used to collect the descaler solution.

11. Remove the water tank, rinse it thoroughly under running water, fill it with fresh water up to the MAX level, and reinsert it.

12. Place the empty container back under the spouts.

13. Turn the steam knob counter-clockwise to the steam position again. Hot water will be delivered first from the coffee spouts, then the steam spout.

14. When the water tank is empty, the machine indicates the end of rinsing. Turn the steam knob clockwise to the 0 position.

15. Empty the container.

Completion:

16. Remove the water tank, fill it with fresh water up to the MAX level, and reinsert it.

17. Empty the grounds container and drip tray, then reinsert them.

18. The descaling procedure is complete, and the machine is ready for use.

1. Remove the water tank from the machine.

2. Unpack the filter.

3. Set the date indicator on the filter (usually 2 months ahead).

4. Completely immerse the filter in a bowl of fresh water, tapping it gently to release air bubbles.

5. Insert the filter into the filter housing in the water tank, pressing it down firmly until it’s fully seated.

6. Fill the water tank with fresh water up to the MAX line and reinsert it into the machine.

7. Place an empty container (minimum 0.5 L capacity) under the hot water/steam spout.

8. Turn the steam knob counter-clockwise to the steam position. The machine will deliver water to activate the filter.

9. Once water delivery stops, turn the steam knob clockwise back to the 0 position.

10. Press and hold the settings button for about 5 seconds.

11. Navigate using the drink buttons until the filter icon is lit.

12. Press the OK/x2 button to confirm filter installation.

13. The machine is now ready for use.

When the filter needs replacing (indicated by the machine or after 2 months), follow the same steps as installation (Steps 1-13 in “How do I install the water softener filter?”), making sure to discard the old filter and use a new one. You will need to confirm the replacement in the settings menu again.
