D.T. SYSTEMS SUPER-PRO RDL 1202 (01) PDF SUMMARY:
What safety precautions should I follow when using the SUPER-PROT™ Remote Dummy Launcher?
Keep the unit out of reach of children at all times. It is not a toy. Follow all instructions in the Owner’s Manual and never modify the unit. Always use it for its intended purpose only. Wear safety glasses and hearing protection when operating the launcher. Use only D.T. approved crimped .22 power loads. Never stand in front of the launcher or let people/dogs step in front of the firing path. Never point or fire the launcher at people or objects. Practice with the unit a few times to familiarize yourself with its operation. Use in an open field with a clear flight path, as the dummy may strike overhanging obstructions. Always set the launcher on stable, level ground. If the launcher falls over, do not fire; reset the unit from behind and stabilize it. Keep dog(s) under control when using the launcher. Always make sure you have a safe zone clearly established when firing the launcher. Always let bystanders know of the operation and location of the unit. Never carry, transport, or store a loaded launcher.
How does my transmitter’s position affect its range?
The transmitting range can vary significantly based on how you hold your transmitter. For maximum range, hold the transmitter up and away from your body. Holding it close to your body will result in the minimum range. A typical range is achieved with the transmitter held at chest level, away from the body.
What are some quick tips to remember before, during, and after a training session?
Before You Go Out: * Purchase and use only D.T. recommended GREEN and YELLOW power loads. RED power loads are not recommended. * Be familiar with the operation of your RDL and test your unit. * Make a checklist of needed items (RDL, dummy, transmitter, protective eyewear, hearing protection, power loads, batteries, etc.). * Make sure your dog is in proper condition for training.
At the Training Site: * Find a large open area where the operation will not disturb the public. * Always wear protective hearing/eye gear. * Keep your dog under control, especially when the RDL is loaded. * Ensure the Remote Receiver is OFF and unloaded when training is complete. *Take everything from your checklist with you.
After Your Training Session: * Ensure the Remote Receiver is OFF (or remove batteries for extended storage). * Follow all maintenance and storage instructions.
