What are the general instructions for use?

IMPORTANT! Only use the adaptor and attachments supplied with this appliance.

• Always inspect the appliance before use to ensure the trimmer blades are free from hair, debris etc.

• Use on clean, dry hair that has been combed until tangle-free.

How do I oil the trimmer blades?

• For optimum cutting performance, it is highly recommended to oil the blades after every use.

• When using the oil for the first time, unscrew the cap and cut off the very end of the plastic tube with a pair of scissors.

• Remove the blade guard and switch the appliance on.

• Holding the trimmer at a 45 degree angle, gently squeeze the oil tube and apply 2 drops directly onto the blades.

• Leave the unit on for a further few seconds to allow the oil to thoroughly spread along the length of the blades.

• Switch off the unit and remove any excess oil by gently dabbing with a cloth before using on hair.

How do I charge the appliance?

• This trimmer is equipped with lithium ion batteries.

• Before using for the first time, the appliance should be fully charged continuously for 3 hours. This initial super-charge ensures optimum power performance to ensure smooth fast trimming every time. Maximum battery capacity will only be reached after 3 charging and discharging cycles.

• Plug the charging adaptor into a suitable mains power socket and switch on at the wall. A blue LED light will continuously run up the product to indicate the trimmer is charging. When the battery is fully charged the LED light will stop running up the product and all 5 charging lights will remain alight.

• When the trimmer is running low on charge, the bottom LED charging light will flash to warn there is approximately 15 minutes of battery use remaining. A 3 hour charge will provide 5 hours use. A 20 minute quick charge will provide approximately 40 minutes use.

What should I do if the charging lights flash rapidly?

If all 5 charging lights start to flash rapidly (more than 4 flashes per second) then the appliance is faulty. If this happens then please stop charging and remove the adapter from the mains.

How do I preserve the batteries?

In order to maintain the optimum capacity of the rechargeable batteries, the trimmer should be fully discharged and then recharged for 3 hours every 6 months.

What is the cutting length of the trimmer without any comb guide?

The trimmer can be used without any comb guide and will cut to a length of 0.2mm.

How do I attach the comb guides to the trimmer?

• Position the comb guide over the blades.

• Click the guide into position by gently pressing the back of the guide down onto the back of the blade. The comb guide should click under the back of the metal blade.

How do I remove a comb guide?

• To remove the comb guide, unclip from the bottom of the blade, this will release the comb guide from the trimmer.

• Lift the guide away.

How do I use the trimmer without a comb guide?

The T-blades of the beard trimmer can be used to edge and detail or to get a much closer cut (0.2mm).

How do I trim with the 6-position comb guides?

• Attach one of the 6-position comb guides and select the required cutting length. Stubble Comb Guide 1-6mm or Beard Comb Guide 7-12mm.

• Switch the trimmer on.

• Hold the trimmer with the teeth pointing upwards, yet flat against the skin.

• Move the trimmer upwards and outward through the hair, against the direction of hair growth.

• The trimmer will work most efficiently when cutting through hair at its own speed.

• Never switch the appliance off whilst in the hair.

How do I use the trimmer for outlining?

• To tidy up the edges around your cut e.g. neckline and sideburns, detach the comb guides.

• Hold the appliance upside down, so the front of the trimmer is facing towards your head.

• Hold the trimmer blades straight on your sideburns or neckline and move the trimmer blades downwards. This will give you a clean, smooth finish.

Is the trimmer waterproof?

The trimmer and comb guides are 100% waterproof and can be used in the shower and bath. Always ensure to clean and allow the trimmer to dry after each use and before storing away.

How should I clean and maintain the trimmer?

To maintain optimum performance, the appliance should be cleaned after each use:

• Remove the comb guide after use. Rinse under running water and dry thoroughly before storage or use.

• Use the cleaning brush provided to brush away in hair from the blades.

• Do not disassemble the blades.

• Periodically, it may be necessary to oil the blades. After cleaning, attach a trimmer head, switch on and oil the blades using a few drops of the lubricating oil supplied. Only use the lubricating oil supplied with the appliance as this is specifically formulated for high speed trimmers and does not evaporate or slow the blades.
