Before starting to use your BLOMBERG KQD 1250 X, please check the following:

1. Ensure the interior of the refrigerator is dry and that air can circulate freely at the rear.

2. Insert the 2 plastic wedges onto the rear ventilation as illustrated in the manual. Unscrew the existing ones and use the screws provided. These wedges ensure the required distance for air circulation.

3. Clean the interior of the refrigerator as recommended in the “Maintenance and cleaning” section.

4. Plug the refrigerator into the wall outlet. The interior light will come on when the door is opened.

5. You will hear a noise as the compressor starts. This is normal, as are noises from the liquid and gases sealed within the refrigeration system, even when the compressor is not running.

6. The front edges of the refrigerator may feel warm. This is normal as these areas are designed to be warm to avoid condensation.

Follow these guidelines for placing and installing your BLOMBERG KQD 1250 X:

1. Install your refrigerator in a place that allows for ease of use.

2. Keep your refrigerator away from heat sources, humid places, and direct sunlight.

3. Ensure there is appropriate air ventilation around your refrigerator for efficient operation. If placing it in a recess in the wall, there must be at least 5 cm distance from the ceiling and at least 5 cm from the wall.

4. If the floor is covered with a carpet, your product must be elevated 2.5 cm from the floor.

5. Place your refrigerator on an even floor surface to prevent jolts.

6. Do not keep your refrigerator in ambient temperatures under 10°C.

If your BLOMBERG KQD 1250 X is unbalanced, follow these steps:

1. Remove the ventilation cover by unscrewing its screws. Balance the refrigerator by turning the front legs. The corner where the leg exists is lowered when you turn in the direction of the black arrow and raised when you turn in the opposite direction. Having someone slightly lift the refrigerator will make this process easier.

2. After the balance issue is fixed, reinstall the ventilation cover and fasten the screws.

3. Remove the screws fastening the lower ventilation cover using a Philips screwdriver.

You can adjust the gap between the fridge compartment doors. Ensure the door shelves are empty before adjusting the door height.

1. Using a screwdriver, remove the screw of the upper hinge cover of the door you want to adjust.

2. Loosen the screws to adjust the door as you desire.

3. Fix the door you have adjusted by tightening the screws without changing the door’s position.

4. Replace the hinge cover and fix it with the screw.

The touch-control indicator panel on your BLOMBERG KQD 1250 X allows you to set the temperature without opening the door. Here are the functions:

1. Eco Extra/Vacation Button: Press briefly to activate the Eco Extra function. Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate the Vacation function. Press again to deactivate.

2. Fast Freeze / Ice Off Button: Press briefly to activate the Fast Freeze function. Press again to deactivate.

3. Freezer Compartment Temperature Setting Button: Press to set the freezer temperature to -18, -20, -22, -24°C.

4. Fridge Compartment Temperature Setting Button: Press to set the fridge temperature to 8, 6, 4, 2°C.

5. Quick Cool Button: Press briefly to activate the Quick Cool function. Press again to deactivate.

6. Flexi Zone Storage Compartment Temperature Setting Button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to set the compartment as a Freezer or Cooler. Then press briefly to cycle through the available temperatures for the selected mode.

7. Vacation Function Indicator: Indicates that the vacation function is active. “- -” appears on the fridge indicator, and no cooling is performed in the fridge compartment.

8. Eco Extra Function Indicator: Indicates the Eco Extra function is active, performing energy-efficient cooling during periods of least usage.

9. Quick Freeze Function Indicator: Indicates Quick Freezer is active. The refrigerator will run for 6 hours without stopping.

10. Freezer Compartment Temperature Indicator: Shows the set temperature for the freezer.

11. Fridge Compartment Temperature Indicator: Shows the set temperature for the fridge.

12. Quick Cool Function Indicator: Indicates Quick Cool is active. The refrigerator will run for 2 hours without stopping.

13. Flexi Zone Storage Compartment Temperature Indicator: Shows the set temperature for the Flexi Zone compartment.

14. Economy Mode Indicator: Indicates the refrigerator is running in energy-efficient mode.

15. Error Status Indicator: Activates if the refrigerator does not cool adequately or if there is a sensor failure. It will display “E” on the freezer indicator and numbers like “1,2,3…” on the fridge indicator to provide error information to service personnel.

16. Key Lock Indicator: Use this to prevent temperature settings from being changed. Press the Quick Cool Button and Flexi Zone Temperature Setting Button simultaneously for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate.

17. Ice-off function button: Press for 3 seconds to stop ice formation. No water will be sent to the ice box.

18. Ice-off function Indicator: Indicates that the ice formation function is off.

The Auto Icematic system allows you to easily obtain ice. Follow these steps:

1. Remove the water tank located in the fridge compartment.

2. Fill it with water.

3. Install it back into its position.

The first ice will be ready in about 2 hours in the ice drawer located in the freezer compartment. A full water tank can produce up to 70 ice cubes. It is recommended to change the water in the tank if it remains there for more than 2-3 weeks.

The sliding body shelves can be pulled by slightly lifting up from the front and moved back and forth. They stop at a point to allow you to reach foods at the back of the shelf. If you pull after slightly lifting upwards at the second stop point, the body shelf will be released.

To prevent tipping, the shelf should be held tightly from the bottom. The body shelf is placed on the rails at the sides of the refrigerator body to be set at a lower or upper level. The shelf should be pushed backwards to seat it completely.

The chiller compartments in your BLOMBERG KQD 1250 X enable foods to be prepared for freezing. You can also use these compartments to store your food at a temperature a few degrees below the fridge compartment temperature.

You can increase the inner volume of your refrigerator by removing any of the snack compartments. To do this, pull the compartment towards yourself until it stops against the stopper. Then, lift it about 1 cm and pull it towards yourself to release it.

The Flexi Zone Storage Compartment can be used in any desired mode by adjusting its temperature. It can be set to fridge temperatures (2/4/6/8 °C) or freezer temperatures (-18/-20/-22/-24 °C) using the Flexi Zone Temperature Setting Button.

Additionally, it can be set to 0°C and 10°C, which is useful for storing deli products longer. It can also be set to -6°C, which is used to keep meats in an easily cuttable condition for up to 2 weeks.

Follow these instructions for proper maintenance:

• Never use gasoline, benzene, or similar substances.

• It is recommended to unplug the appliance before cleaning.

• Never use any sharp abrasive instrument, soap, household cleaner, detergent, or wax polish.

• Use lukewarm water to clean the cabinet of your refrigerator and wipe it dry.

• For the interior, use a damp cloth wrung out in a solution of one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to one pint of water, then wipe it dry.

• Ensure no water enters the lamp housing and other electrical items.

• If the refrigerator will not be used for a long period, unplug it, remove all food, clean it, and leave the door ajar.

• Check door seals regularly to ensure they are clean and free from food particles.

• To remove door racks, remove all contents and then simply push the door rack upwards from the base.

Protection of plastic surfaces: Do not put liquid oils or oil-cooked meals in your refrigerator in unsealed containers as they can damage the plastic surfaces. If oil spills or smears on plastic surfaces, clean and rinse the relevant part at once with warm water.

If your BLOMBERG KQD 1250 X does not operate, please check the following:

• Is the refrigerator properly plugged in? Insert the plug into the wall socket.

• Is the fuse of the socket to which your refrigerator is connected or the main fuse blown out? Check the fuse.

Condensation on the side wall can be caused by several factors:

• Very cold ambient conditions.

• Frequent opening and closing of the door.

• Highly humid ambient conditions.

• Storage of food containing liquid in open containers.

• Leaving the door ajar.

To resolve this, you can try the following:

• Switch the thermostat to a colder degree.

• Decrease the time the door is left open or use it less frequently.

• Cover the food stored in open containers with a suitable material.

• Wipe the condensation using a dry cloth and check if it persists.

If the compressor is not running, consider the following possible reasons:

• The protective thermic of the compressor might have blown out during sudden power failures or plug-ins because the refrigerant pressure has not balanced yet. Your refrigerator should start running approximately after 6 minutes. If it does not start after this period, please call for service.

• The fridge is in a defrost cycle. This is normal for a fully-automatic defrosting refrigerator. The defrosting cycle occurs periodically.

• Your refrigerator is not plugged into the socket. Make sure the plug is inserted tightly into the wall socket.

• The temperature adjustments may not be correct.

• There may be a power failure.

Several factors can cause your refrigerator to run for extended periods:

• Your new refrigerator may be wider than the previous one, which is normal for larger refrigerators.

• The ambient room temperature may be high.

• The refrigerator might have been plugged in recently or loaded with food. Complete cooling may take a couple of hours longer.

• Large amounts of hot food might have been put in the refrigerator recently.

• Doors might have been opened frequently or left ajar for a long time.

• The freezer or fridge compartment door might have been left ajar. Check if the doors are tightly closed.

• The refrigerator is adjusted to a very low temperature. Adjust the temperature to a warmer degree and wait.

• The door seal of the fridge or freezer may be soiled, worn out, broken, or not properly seated. Clean or replace the seal.

If the temperature in the fridge or freezer is very high, check the following:

• The fridge temperature may be adjusted to a very high degree. Since the fridge adjustment affects the freezer temperature, change the temperature of the fridge or freezer until it reaches a sufficient level.

• The door might be left ajar. Close the door completely.

• Large amounts of hot food might have been put in the refrigerator recently. Wait until the fridge or freezer reaches the desired temperature.

• The refrigerator might have been plugged in recently. Cooling down completely takes time because of its size.

If you notice a bad odor inside your refrigerator, try the following:

• The inside of the refrigerator must be cleaned. Clean the inside with a sponge, warm water, or carbonated water.

• Some containers or packaging materials might be causing the smell. Use a different container or a different brand of packaging material.

If the doors are not closing properly, check these points:

• Food packages may be preventing the door from closing. Replace the packages that are obstructing the door.

• The refrigerator is probably not completely vertical on the floor and might be rocking when slightly moved. Adjust the elevation screws.

• The floor is not level or strong. Make sure that the floor is level and capable of carrying the refrigerator.

If the crispers are stuck, it is likely because food is touching the ceiling of the drawer. Please rearrange the food inside the drawer to resolve the issue.
