What are the safety instructions for installing and using the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED?
WARNING: The AXIS T90D40 IR-LED shall be installed by a trained professional, and in compliance with local laws and regulations.
CAUTION: IR is emitted from this product. It can be harmful to the eyes. Avoid eye exposure. Use shielding or eye protection.
CAUTION: Possibly hazardous optical radiation is emitted from this product. It can be harmful to the eyes. Don’t stare at the operating lamp.
NOTICE:
• The AXIS T90D40 IR-LED shall be used in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Store the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED in a dry and ventilated environment.
• Avoid exposing the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED to shocks or heavy pressure.
• Do not install the product on unstable poles, brackets, surfaces or walls.
• Use only applicable tools when installing the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED. Using excessive force with power tools could cause damage to the product.
• Do not use chemicals, caustic agents, or aerosol cleaners.
• Use a clean cloth dampened with pure water for cleaning.
• Use only accessories that comply with the technical specification of your product. These can be provided by Axis or a third party. Axis recommends using Axis power source equipment compatible with your product.
• Use only spare parts provided by or recommended by Axis.
• Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. Contact Axis support or your Axis reseller for service matters.
• Do not power the illuminator if the power cable is damaged. If done in a professional way, it is possible to shorten the power cable and replace the connector to repair the cable. If unable to repair the power cable, the illuminator must be disposed of and re-cycled.
How should I transport the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED?
When transporting the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED, use the original packaging or equivalent to prevent damage to the product.
What is included in the package for the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED?
The package for the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED contains the following items:

What are the main components and wire configurations of the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED?
The main components are:
1. Photocell

How do I install the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED?
This guide describes an installation where the illuminator is controlled by the photocell. For AC/DC versions, only the red and black cables are required.
1. If required, remove the screws and move the standard bracket to the top of the illuminator.
2. If required, loosen the screws and turn the bracket 90°.
3. Position the illuminator next to the camera and point it towards the camera’s field of view.
4. Connect the illuminator to the Power Source Equipment (PSE).
– For AC/DC versions: Connect the power cable from the PSE to the illuminator.
– For PoE versions: Connect the network cables from the PSE and the illuminator to the IP66 cable coupler.
Important: To maintain the IP66 rating of the illuminator, make sure that it is correctly connected to the PSE.
How do I change the lens on the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED?
Handle the lens with care and do not touch the optical film. All lenses have markings with the angle of illumination.
The pre-mounted lens provides an angle of illumination of 35°. You can alter the angle as follows:
• To alter to a 10° angle, remove the lens.
• To alter to a 60° angle, replace with the supplied lens.
• To alter to an 80° angle, replace with the supplied lens.
A lens for a 120° angle is available but not included with the product.
To change the lens, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power.
2. Remove the screws holding the baseplate using a 2.5 mm allen/hex key.
3. Change to a diversion lens with the desired angle of illumination.
4. Place the baseplate in its original position and fasten the screws using a 2.5 mm allen/hex key.
5. Point the illuminator towards the camera’s field of view.
Important: To maintain the IP66 rating of the illuminator, ensure it is correctly reassembled.
What do the LED indicators on the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED signify?
The AXIS T90D40 IR-LED has two colored LED indicators that provide operating and status information. On powering up, the illuminator automatically enters Programming Mode.
The LED statuses are as follows:
• LHS LED solid green = Power on
• RHS LED flashing amber = Illuminator is in Programming Mode
• LHS LED solid red = Illuminator fault detected
• LHS LED flashing red = Voltage supply problem detected
Note: If any manual buttons are pressed, the illuminator automatically enters Normal Operating Mode 30 minutes after the last button press. After 7 days, the illuminator automatically enters Normal Operating Mode and the RHS LED is unlit.
What are the power specifications for the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED?
The AXIS T90D40 IR-LED is Class III for insulation and is suitable for both outdoor and indoor environments. The external power cable cannot be replaced. If it is damaged and cannot be shortened for re-use, the illuminator must not be powered.
The maximum output power requirements are as follows:

The LEDs (light source) of these illuminators are not replaceable. When the unit reaches its end of life, the whole illuminator shall be disposed of and re-cycled where possible.
How can I reset the AXIS T90D40 IR-LED to its factory default settings?
A full reset will restore the illuminator to its factory settings. To perform a full reset:
1. Press and hold the two manual control buttons whilst recycling the power.
2. Both Indicator LEDs will flash amber when the reset is completed.
