Instruction manual

The AIWA AMR-200DAB operates using the supplied AC/DC adaptor. Before use, please make sure the mains voltage on the rating plate of the AC/DC adaptor is the same as the voltage in your area. To connect the unit to the mains, insert the DC plug of the adaptor into the DC IN socket on the rear of the unit. Then plug the AC/DC adaptor into a mains socket. The unit is now ready for use. When the AC/DC adaptor is connected, the batteries (if installed) are automatically disconnected.

To operate the AIWA AMR-200DAB using batteries, first disconnect the AC/DC adaptor from the unit and the mains socket. Then, open the battery compartment cover on the rear of the unit. Insert 4 x 1.5V (UM-2/C/LR14) type batteries (not supplied) according to the polarity diagram inside the compartment. Finally, close the battery compartment cover.

Press the STANDBY button to switch on the unit. The display will light up. To switch the unit to standby mode, press the STANDBY button again. The display will show the clock, date, and any active alarm settings.

When the unit is ON, repeatedly press the MODE button to select between DAB, FM, BLUETOOTH, and AUX-IN modes.

Turn the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial clockwise to increase the volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it.

1. Press the MODE button to select DAB mode.

2. The first time you use the unit, it will start a full scan and store all available stations. The display will show “Scanning…”.

3. To manually start a full scan, press the SCAN button.

4. Once the scan is complete, the stations will be listed alphabetically. Turn the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial to scroll through the stations and press the dial to select one.

5. To store a preset, tune to the desired station, then press and hold the PRESET button. Turn the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial to select a preset number (1-20) and press the dial to save.

6. To recall a preset, press the PRESET button, turn the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial to select the desired preset number, and press the dial to confirm.

1. Press the MODE button repeatedly to select FM mode.

2. Press and hold the SCAN button to automatically search and store stations. The radio will store up to 20 stations.

3. To manually tune, turn the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial.

4. To store a preset, tune to the desired station, then press and hold the PRESET button. Turn the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial to select a preset number (1-20) and press the dial to save.

5. To recall a preset, press the PRESET button, turn the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial to select the desired preset number, and press the dial to confirm.

In DAB or FM mode, press and hold the MENU/INFO button to enter the MENU settings. Turn the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial to select an option and press the dial to confirm. The options are:

DAB Mode Menu:

• Full Scan: Scans for all available DAB stations.

• Manual Tune: Manually tune to a specific DAB channel/frequency.

• DRC (Dynamic Range Control): Adjusts the dynamic range. Options are Off, Low, or High.

• Prune: Removes all invalid stations from the station list.

• System: Accesses system settings.

FM Mode Menu:

• Scan Setting: Choose to scan for “All stations” or “Strong stations only”.

• Audio Setting: Choose between “Forced mono” or “Stereo allowed”.

• System: Accesses system settings.

1. Enter the MENU settings by pressing and holding the MENU/INFO button in DAB or FM mode.

2. Select “System” and press the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial.

3. Turn the dial to choose a setting and press to enter. The available settings are:

• Time: Set time/date, auto update, set 12/24 hour format, set date format.

• Language: Select the display language (English, German, Italian, French, etc.).

• Backlight: Adjust backlight timeout and brightness levels (On level, Dim level).

• Factory Reset: Resets the radio to its factory default settings.

• SW version: Displays the current software version.

1. Press the MODE button to select BLUETOOTH mode. The display will show “Disconnected”.

2. Enable Bluetooth on your external device and search for available devices.

3. Select “AMR-200DAB” from the device list to start pairing. A sound will indicate a successful connection, and the display will show “Connected”.

4. Select and play audio from your Bluetooth device. The radio will play the sound.

5. You can control playback using the controls on your device or by pressing the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial on the radio to play/pause.

To disconnect, you can turn off Bluetooth on your device, or press and hold the VOLUME/NAVIGATE/ENTER dial on the radio until the display shows “Disconnected”.

1. Press the MODE button to select AUX-IN mode.

2. Connect your external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the AUX IN socket on the rear of the unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).

3. Start playback on your external device. The sound will play through the radio’s speaker.

4. Adjust the volume using the VOLUME dial on the radio.

For private listening, you can connect headphones with a 3.5mm stereo plug to the headphone jack on the rear of the unit. When headphones are plugged in, the main speaker is automatically muted.

Check that the mains socket is switched on.

Check that the AC adaptor is correctly connected to the radio and the mains socket.

If using batteries, check that they are inserted correctly and are not flat.

Check that the volume is not set to minimum.

Check that the unit is not muted.

If using headphones, unplug them to enable the main speaker.

Fully extend the antenna.

Re-position the antenna for better reception.

Try moving the radio to a different location.

Perform a new station scan.

Check that you do not have other electrical equipment too close to your radio, causing interference.

The clock is updated when receiving DAB or FM RDS signals. Set the radio to a DAB or FM station to allow the clock to set automatically. You can also set it manually in the System Settings menu.

Check that the radio is in Bluetooth mode.

Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your external device.

Your device may be out of range. Move it closer to the radio.
