You can create Smart Actions to automate your smart devices. Examples include:

Light the Way When Arriving Home: By pairing the TP-LINK TAPO T110 with Tapo Lighting, you can have the light turn on automatically when you open the door.

Build Smart Alarm / Secure Door/Window: By pairing the TP-LINK TAPO T110 with a Tapo Hub, you can trigger the hub alarm and send app notifications when someone opens a door or window. The Hub will ring if the door/window is opened.


How do I set up my TP-LINK TAPO T110 Smart Contact Sensor?

Before you start, a Tapo Hub is required. Ensure your Tapo Hub is successfully added via the Tapo app.

1. Set Up Your Sensor

Tap the ‘+’ button in the Tapo app, tap Sensors, and select your model (Tapo T110). Follow the instructions in the Tapo app to complete the setup.

2. Check the LED & Set Up

Check if the LED blinks. If not, use a pin to press and hold the Reset button for 5 seconds. If you are setting up the device for the first time, remove the battery insulation tab first. Follow the app instructions to complete the setup.

3. Test Your Sensor

Open and close the sensor to test it in your preferred location. Check the Event Log on the Tapo app to confirm the open/closed status.


How do I mount my TP-LINK TAPO T110 Smart Contact Sensor?

1. Stick the included adhesives on the sensor and magnet.

2. Choose where you’d like to install the sensor (but don’t attach it yet). Place the magnet near the edge of the door or window that moves.

3. Align the magnet and sensor with no more than 0.59 inches (15 mm) between them when the door or window is closed. Use the alignment lines on the sensor and magnet to help.

4. Peel the backing from the adhesive and press the sensor and magnet into place.

Notes:

• Leave at least 0.39 inches (10 mm) of space so you can open the battery compartment.

• Installation height should not be higher than 6.56 ft (2 m).

After successfully setting up your hub and sensor, you will see your devices listed on the home page. With the Tapo app, you can view and manage your devices and get instant notifications anytime, anywhere.

This page lists all the devices you’ve added. You can view them directly and manage them easily. Tap the card for your TP-LINK TAPO T110 to enter its Status page.

Home Page Settings

Long press on a device card to reorder cards, remove a device, share your device, favorite/unfavorite it, or relocate it to another Home.

Status Page

On this page, you can check all events of your sensor. Slide the panel up to check more settings or tap the gear icon to enter the Settings page.


How do I access and change the settings for my TP-LINK TAPO T110 in the app?

From the sensor’s Status page, tap the gear icon to enter the Device Settings page. Here you can:

• Check/edit the basic info (like Device Name and Location).

• Set Notifications settings.

• View User Manual and Placement Guide.

• Remove your device from your account.

Notifications Settings

Turn on Notifications if you want to receive app notifications when your sensor detects an event. You can set the time you want to be notified (Always, During the Day, During the Night, or a Custom Time).


What Smart Actions are available for the TP-LINK TAPO T110?

The sensor can work with other Tapo devices to automate your home. You can customize smart actions based on templates. The available templates are:

How do I create a Smart Action for my TP-LINK TAPO T110?

1. On the Status page for your sensor, tap Explore Smart Actions.

2. Choose a template (e.g., “Build a smart alarm when you sleep”) and customize the smart action based on the template.

3. Select the devices you want to take action (e.g., your Tapo Hub) when the sensor detects an event.

4. Customize the settings as needed. The “When” trigger will be your Contact Sensor opening. You can add “Then” actions. Turn on Delay Action if you want the action to take place some time after the sensor detects an event.

5. Set the effective time for this smart action. You can choose Always, a custom time, or repeat on specific days.

Once done, you can go to Smart (Smart Actions) > Automation to check the item. You can toggle it on/off, tap to edit, or swipe right to delete.


How do I replace the battery in the TP-LINK TAPO T110?

If you haven’t installed it on a door or window:

Slide to remove the cover.

If you have installed it on a door or window:

Remove the cover of your sensor by pushing the cover up.

After removing the cover:

Remove the screw securing the battery and remove the old battery. Insert the new CR2032 battery into the battery compartment, making sure the battery is level and its positive side is facing up. Then replace the cover.


How do I reset my TP-LINK TAPO T110 Smart Sensor?

You can reset the sensor using one of two methods:

Option 1: Via Reset Button

Remove the cover, then use a pin to press and hold the Reset button for 5 seconds until the front LED starts blinking.

Option 2: Via the Tapo App

Long press the sensor’s card on the home page and tap the remove icon, OR go to the Device Settings page for the sensor and tap the REMOVE button to remove your sensor from your account.
