The TP-LINK KP303 is a smart Wi-Fi power strip with independent control of 3 smart outlets and always-on USB ports for charging. Its key features include:

The TP-LINK KP303 has several LEDs to indicate its status:

Protected LED: Lights up when the device is under surge protection.

LED of Smart Outlet (1-3 from left to right): Lights up when the corresponding smart outlet is on.

SYS Wi-Fi LED:

– Orange: Rebooting.

– Blinking Orange and Green: Setup mode initiated.

– Blinking Green: Searching for Wi-Fi.

– White: Connected to Wi-Fi network successfully.

– Blinking Orange: Resetting.

– Red: No Wi-Fi connection.

Smart Outlet (1-3 from left to right): Plug in your device to control it from your smartphone. Each outlet is independent.

Control Button (1-3 from left to right):

– Press the control button to turn on or off the corresponding outlet.

– Press and hold a control button for 5 seconds to re-enable setup mode.

– Press and hold a control button for 10 seconds to restore your Smart Power Strip to factory default settings.

USB Port: Charge your tablet, smartphone, or other devices. Output is 5V/2.4A each; 5V/2.4A total.

The supported load types for the TP-LINK KP303 vary by region:

For US Version:

Place your TP-LINK KP303 power strip within the Wi-Fi range of your home network. Generally, the power strip is placed on a horizontal surface like a shelf or desktop. It can also be mounted on a wall. For wall mounting, use screws with the following dimensions:

Diameter (D): 4mm < D ≤ 6mm

Head Height (H): H < 2.5mm

The distance between the two mounting holes on the back of the device is 213mm.

Follow these steps to set up your TP-LINK KP303:

1. Install Kasa Smart app: Get the Kasa Smart app from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

2. Log in or sign up: Open the app and log in with your TP-Link ID. If you don’t have an account, create one first.

3. Add Device: Tap the ‘+’ button in the app, select Device > Smart Plugs > Smart Power Strip, and follow the step-by-step instructions to complete the setup.

4. Name the three plugs: The KP303 has 3 individual smart outlets. You can add a unique name and icon to each one. These will then appear on the Home page of the app.

After setting up your TP-LINK KP303, you will see the outlets listed on the home page of the Kasa Smart app. You can quickly turn any outlet on or off by tapping the switch next to its name on the Home page. You can also tap on the device name to open its control page and tap the large power button to turn it on or off.

You can set schedules to automatically turn your devices on or off according to your daily routine.

1. Tap a smart outlet on the Home page that you want to set a schedule for, then tap ‘Schedule’.

2. Tap the ‘+’ icon on the top right corner.

3. Set the action (Turn On Power or Turn Off Power) and the time for the schedule. You can also set it to activate at Sunrise or Sunset, which is based on your location.

4. Choose the days of the week for the schedule to repeat.

5. Tap ‘Save’. Your schedule will be listed on the Schedule page. You can add more schedules or toggle existing schedules on and off from this page.

The Timer function allows you to set a countdown to automatically turn an outlet on or off.

1. On the Kasa app’s Home page, tap the smart outlet you want to set a timer for, then tap ‘Timer’.

2. Set the time duration (hours and minutes) after which the smart outlet will automatically turn on or off.

3. Tap ‘START’. The timer will begin counting down. You can tap ‘STOP’ at any time to cancel the timer.

Away Mode automatically turns an outlet on and off at random intervals to make it appear that someone is home.

1. Tap a smart outlet on the Home page, then tap ‘Away’.

2. Set the start and end time during which the outlet will be randomly turned on and off. The start and end time must be on the same day.

3. Select the repeating frequency (the days of the week you want Away Mode to be active).

4. Tap ‘START’ to activate Away Mode. You can tap ‘STOP’ to deactivate it.

To keep track of how long each outlet has been working:

1. Tap the smart outlet you want to check on the Kasa app’s Home page.

2. Tap ‘Runtime’ at the bottom of the screen.

3. You can view the runtime for today, the past 7 days, and the past 30 days. This includes Current Runtime, Total Runtime, and Daily Average.

1. Tap any outlet of your smart power strip in the Kasa app, and then tap the settings icon (gear symbol) in the top right corner.

2. On the Device Settings page, you can perform the following actions:

– Change Name and Icon: Tap on an outlet under ‘NAME AND ICON’ to edit its name and change its icon.

– Re-Order: Tap ‘Re-Order’ to drag and drop the outlets to change their display order in the app.

– Status LED: Toggle the ‘Status LED’ switch to turn the status LEDs of all three smart outlets on or off altogether.

– Feature Tutorial: Tap to view a tutorial on the advanced features of your power strip.

There are three methods to reset your TP-LINK KP303:

Method 1 (via Kasa App Home Screen):

1. On the Kasa app Home screen, swipe left on any of the outlets of your power strip.

2. Tap ‘Delete’, then confirm by tapping ‘Remove Device’. This will remove the power strip from your Kasa account and restore it to factory settings.

Method 2 (via Kasa App Device Settings):

1. Tap any of the outlets and go to its Device Settings page (gear icon).

2. Tap ‘Remove Device’ at the bottom of the page and confirm. This will also remove it from your account and restore factory settings.

Method 3 (Physical Button):

1. To restore to factory default settings, press and hold any of the control buttons on the power strip for 10 seconds.

2. To re-enable setup mode without a full reset, press and hold any of the control buttons for 5 seconds.

Grouping allows you to control multiple outlets simultaneously.

To Create a Group:

1. Tap the ‘+’ button on the Home page of the Kasa Smart app and select ‘Group’.

2. Select the smart outlets from your TP-LINK KP303 that you want to add to the group and tap ‘Save’.

3. Give the group a name and tap ‘Save’. The group will now be listed on your Home page.

To Manage a Group:

1. Tap the group you want to manage from the Home page.

2. From the group’s status page, you can turn all devices in the group on or off. Tap the settings icon (gear symbol) in the top right corner.

3. In the Group Settings, you can:

– Tap ‘Group Name’ to rename the group.

– Tap ‘Devices’ to add or remove devices from the group.

– Tap ‘Remove Group’ to delete the group. The devices within the group will remain on your device list.

A scene is a preset group of actions for your smart devices that can be activated with a single tap.

1. Tap the ‘Scenes’ icon at the bottom of the Kasa app, then tap the ‘+’ at the top right corner.

2. Select a pre-made scene (like Good Morning) or choose ‘Custom’ to create your own.

3. Select the devices you want to include in the scene (e.g., specific outlets on your TP-LINK KP303). For each device, set its desired status (e.g., on or off). Tap ‘NEXT’.

4. Pick an icon for your scene and tap ‘NEXT’.

5. Name your scene and tap ‘SAVE’.

6. Your new scene will be displayed in the scene list. Just tap the scene to activate it.

Smart Actions enable your Kasa devices to work together automatically. To start, tap the ‘Smart Actions’ icon at the bottom of the Kasa app, then tap ‘Add an Action’.

There are several types of automations you can create:

Motion Sensing: Take actions when a Kasa camera senses motion. For example, turn on an outlet on your TP-LINK KP303 when motion is detected.

Control With a Switch: Extend a Kasa Smart Switch’s control to other Kasa devices. Turn on/off a group of devices, including outlets on your power strip, with the switch.

Schedule a Scene: Schedule a Scene to be turned on automatically at a specified time.

Auto-off Timer: Whenever a Smart device (like an outlet on your KP303) is turned on, automatically turn it off after a designated amount of time.

To connect your TP-LINK KP303 for voice control:

1. Launch the Kasa Smart app.

2. Go to the sidebar menu (three horizontal lines) and tap ‘Works with Kasa’.

3. Choose either ‘Amazon Alexa’ or ‘Google Assistant’.

4. The app will then guide you through the process of linking your Kasa account with your Amazon or Google account to enable hands-free voice control of your power strip outlets.

Please follow these safety precautions when using your TP-LINK KP303:

Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the device.

Do not use the device where wireless devices are not allowed.

Keep the device away from water, fire, humidity, or hot environments.

The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

Use only in dry locations and indoors.

Not intended to be mounted on a desk or similar furnishing surface.

To reduce risk of electric shock, do not plug into another relocatable power tap or an extension cord.

Do not install this device if there is not at least 10 meters (30 feet) or more of wire between the electrical outlet and the electrical service panel.

WARNING: A timer could turn on unexpectedly. To reduce hazardous conditions, unplug any appliance plugged into the receptacle(s) controlled by the timer before servicing.
