Each TP-LINK DECO X95 unit has an LED that changes color to indicate its status:
Yellow pulse: Deco is resetting.
Yellow solid: Deco is starting up.
Blue pulse: Deco is ready for setup or WPS is in progress.
Blue solid: Deco is setting up.
Green pulse: Deco is upgrading firmware.
Green solid: Deco is registered and all is well.
Red pulse: Deco is disconnected from main Deco.

What are the ports and buttons on the TP-LINK DECO X95?
Each TP-LINK DECO X95 unit is equipped with the following:
1x 2.5Gbps Ethernet port + 2x 1Gbps Ethernet ports: For connecting the Deco to your modem, the Ethernet outlet, or other internet devices.
Reset Button: Press for 1 second to reset the Deco to factory default settings. The light changing from pulsing yellow to solid yellow indicates a successful reset.
Power Slot: For connecting the Deco to the power socket via the provided power adapter.
How do I set up my TP-LINK DECO X95 system for the first time?
Follow these steps to set up your Deco Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi 6 System:
1. Download and install the Deco app: Go to Google Play or the Apple App Store to download the Deco app. Install the app on your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet.
2. Log in or sign up with TP-Link ID: Open the app. Use your TP-Link ID to log in. If you don’t have a TP-Link ID, sign up first. The app will guide you through the rest if you forget your password.
3. Connect Deco to your modem: Power off your modem. Connect your Deco to the modem and power them both on. If you don’t have a modem, connect the Ethernet outlet directly to your Deco.
4. Select a location: Select a location for this Deco from the list. This location will be used as the Deco’s name. If its location is not listed, you can create a new one by choosing Custom.
5. Set up internet connection: Select the internet connection type (e.g., Dynamic IP, PPPoE) and enter the required information. If you are not sure, contact your internet service provider.
6. Create your Wi-Fi network: Set a network name (SSID) and a password. This will be the name and password you use to connect your devices to Wi-Fi. The password must be at least 8 characters.
7. Connect to your Wi-Fi network: Connect your devices to the newly created Deco’s Wi-Fi to continue the setup.
8. Setup complete: Your Deco network is now up. Connect all your devices to the Deco network for better connections.
9. Add more Decos: Plug in the other included Deco units. They will be automatically added to the network within 2 minutes.
How do I add more TP-LINK DECO X95 units to my existing network?
After creating a Deco network, you can add more Deco units to expand the Wi-Fi coverage.
1. On the Overview page in the Deco app, tap the “+” icon.
2. Select the Deco model you want to add (e.g., X90/X95).
3. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup.
4. After the setup, you can find the added Decos by tapping the globe icon on the Overview page. This will show a list of all Deco units online.
What can I do from the TP-LINK DECO X95 app dashboard?
After you successfully set up your Deco network, you will see the dashboard of the Deco app. From here, you can perform several actions:
Overview: Tap the “OVERVIEW” tab to get an overview of the network status, including the internet status and a list of connected devices.
HomeShield: Tap the “HOMESHIELD” tab to enter the HomeShield page for enhanced security features.

2. Tap on a specific Deco unit from this list to check its details. This includes its MAC address, IP address, current download and upload speeds, and a list of clients connected to it.
3. From the detail screen, you can also tap the Deco’s name at the top to change or customize its location name (e.g., change from “Living Room” to “Office”).
How do I manage devices connected to my TP-LINK DECO X95 network?
From the Overview page in the Deco app, you can manage all connected devices:
1. In the “Devices” list on the Overview page, tap on a specific client to check its details.
2. On the device details screen, you can view its current download/upload speed, IP address, MAC address, and which Deco unit it’s connected to.
3. You can enable “High Priority” for the device to give it better performance.
4. Tap “Belongs to” to add a unique profile for the device (e.g., assign it to a family member like Son, Dad, etc.) and manage its online activities through parental controls.
How can I create a new network using the TP-LINK DECO X95 app?
The Deco app allows you to create and manage different Deco networks bound to your TP-Link ID. There are two methods to create a new network:
Method 1: Create a new network from the Overview page
1. On the main Overview page, tap the network name at the top (e.g., “Deco”).
2. In the “Select a Network” list that appears, tap “+ Create New Network”.
3. Follow the app instructions to complete the setup for the new network.
Method 2: Create a new network from the Menu page
1. On the main Overview page, tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
2. Tap your network name (e.g., “Deco”).
3. Tap “CREATE NEW NETWORK”.

HomeShield Pro subscription: To enjoy more features, you can upgrade to HomeShield Pro.

Operating Mode: Change the mode between “Router (Default)” and “Access Point”. In Access Point mode, the Deco connects to a wired or wireless router and extends the wireless coverage. Note that advanced features like HomeShield, IPv4, and Port Forwarding are not available in Access Point mode.
Notifications: Set connection alerts to receive notifications when clients connect or disconnect. You can also manage which alerts (Firmware Updates, Antivirus Alerts, etc.) you receive in the notification bar.

WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) helps you quickly and securely connect a client to your network without entering a password.
1. In the Deco app, navigate to the “MORE” tab and tap “WPS”.

3. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your client device.
