When using your SUNBEAM MIXMASTER HERITAGE 2350, it is important to follow basic safety precautions, including the following:

1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.

2. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put mixer in water or other liquid.

3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

4. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.

5. Avoid contacting moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, as well as spatulas and other utensils away from beaters during operation to reduce the risk of injury to persons, and/or damage to the mixer.

6. Do not use outdoors.

7. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces, including the stove.

8. Remove beaters from mixer before washing.

9. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized Sunbeam Appliance Service Center for examination, repair or electrical or mechanical adjustment.

10. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.

11. Do not place appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

12. Check that control is off before plugging cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn control to off, then remove plug from wall outlet.

13. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

Please observe the following cautions when operating your SUNBEAM MIXMASTER HERITAGE 2350:

• Do not leave mixer unattended while it is operating.

• When mixing liquids, especially hot liquids, use a deep container or make small quantities at a time to reduce spillage, spattering and possibility of injury from burning.

• To prevent damage to the motor, the Stand Mixer should not be operated continuously for more than 10 minutes. Allow motor to cool before subsequent use.

• The Dough Hooks for this mixer are identified by the plastic button on the shaft of the hook. This dough hook should be inserted into the socket marked by the dough hook symbol. The other dough hook may be inserted into the other socket. Failure to insert in the correct sockets may affect the performance of your mixer.

• Your mixer is equipped with a feature that will shut off the unit to prevent overheating. If your mixer shuts off, unplug it and let it cool for at least 15 minutes before using it again.

Before preparing the SUNBEAM MIXMASTER HERITAGE 2350 for use, be sure the speed control dial is in the OFF position and the electrical cord is unplugged. Wash bowls and attachments in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher. Rinse and dry.

The turntable on your SUNBEAM MIXMASTER HERITAGE 2350 may be adjusted depending on which bowl is being used and for different mixing jobs. With the mixer head tilted back and the bowl in the proper position, slide the Bowl Selector Switch to the right for the small bowl, and to the left for the large bowl.

To raise the mixer head, push down on the Mixer Head Locking Lever. While the lever is depressed, hold the handle and tilt the head of the Stand Mixer back. The Stand Mixer is designed with a spring-loaded lock to assist you in raising the mixer head to the locked position. To lower the mixer head, push down on the Mixer Head Locking Lever and gently lower the mixer head. A “click” will indicate the mixer head has been locked into position.

The beaters are designed for specific socket attachments. The beater with the gray plastic clip is to be inserted into the socket of the attachment diagram. If a beater is difficult to insert, rotate the beater in the socket until it locks into position. The other beater may be inserted into the other socket.

To detach the beaters, make sure the mixer is unplugged and the Speed Control Dial is in the OFF position. Grasp the beaters and press the Beater Eject Button.

The dough hook with the plastic button on the shaft is designed to fit the socket nearest the mixer head attachment diagram. To insert the dough hook in the socket, slightly rotate it to position it to place.

To detach the dough hooks, ensure the mixer is unplugged and the Speed Control Dial is in the OFF position. Grasp the dough hooks and press the Beater Eject Button.

Place the proper mixing bowl on the turntable, ensuring the raised part in the center of the turntable fits through the hole in the bottom of the bowl. To ensure proper mixing, the large bowl should be used for large recipes, and the small bowl for smaller recipes.

Note: Mixing bowls should not be used in a conventional gas or electric oven, microwave oven, or on the stove top. They are dishwasher safe.

The speed control dial is designed to be set on OFF and for selecting the 12 mixing speeds. Rotate the speed control dial in either direction to increase mixing speed, starting at the lowest speed setting and increasing to your need. The speeds indicated on the speed control dial are for reference only. You can adjust the speed to the recipes or task at hand. The numbers are indexed to approximate the speed of the beater’s rotation.

This Stand Mixer is equipped with a Soft Start feature to minimize ingredient splash when the mixer is started. When the mixer is turned on, it will automatically start at a low speed and gradually increase to the selected speed.

Please refer to the appropriate speed on the mixer’s range and colored speed bands based on the type of mixing task. Begin mixing at the lowest speed until ingredients are blended to prevent splashing, then increase to the desired speed. When building to a recipe that requires the addition of dry ingredients, such as flour, slow the speed while adding the ingredients to prevent a “flour storm” and then increase to the proper mixing speed. The following table provides a guide for selecting the appropriate speed for the particular mixing task:

1. Unplug your SUNBEAM MIXMASTER HERITAGE 2350 before cleaning.

2. Wash bowls, beaters, and dough hooks in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher.

3. Wipe the Stand Mixer head and base with a soft cloth. DO NOT IMMERSE THE MIXER IN WATER.

4. Avoid the use of abrasive cleaners. After cleaning, store your mixer in a dry place.

The motor of your Stand Mixer is permanently lubricated at the factory and will not require additional oiling. No other user maintenance is necessary.
