The ADAPT 560 model also includes a case and a BTD 800 USB or BTD 800 USB-C Bluetooth dongle.

*Once the headset is successfully connected, the LED goes off.

*These functions are not supported by all connected Bluetooth devices.

Step 1. Press and hold the Power button on your headset for 4 seconds until the LED flashes blue and red. The headset is now in pairing mode.

Step 2. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device and start the search for Bluetooth devices (see the instruction manual of your mobile device).

Step 3. Select “EPOS ADAPT 560” from the list of found devices to establish a Bluetooth connection.

Step 4. The LED will flash blue 2 times as soon as the headset finds a device to connect to, and then the LED will turn off. The headset is now paired.

To cancel pairing, press the Power button.

Connect the supplied USB cable to the USB-C socket of the headset and a USB-A socket of your computer. You can use the headset for calls or listening to audio while it charges.

If the headset is connected but you hear no sound, you may need to manually change the audio settings:

Step 1. Right-click the Audio icon in the system tray.

Step 2. Under ‘Output’, select ‘ADAPT 560’ as the speaker.

Step 3. Under ‘Input’, select ‘ADAPT 560’ as the microphone.

To turn the headset on:

Press the Power button for 2 seconds. The headset turns on, and the LED flashes blue. It will automatically try to connect to available paired Bluetooth devices. The LED flashes blue twice when it connects, then turns off. If the LED flashes red, no paired device has been found.

To turn the headset off:

Press the Power button for 2 seconds. The LED flashes red 3 times and turns off. All volume settings are saved automatically.

For the best sound quality and wearing comfort, adjust the headset as follows:

Step 1. Put the headset on so that the headband runs over the top of your head.

Step 2. Ensure the side with the ‘R’ marking rests on your right ear.

Step 3. Adjust the headset so that:

• Your ears are comfortably covered by the ear pads.

• You feel even, gentle pressure around your ears.

• A snug fit of the headband on the head is ensured.

The headset has three independent volume settings:

1. Call volume: during an active call

2. Audio volume: during audio streaming

3. Volume for ring tone, tones, and voice prompts: in idle mode

To adjust the volume, press the Multifunction button towards the “+” to increase or towards the “-” to decrease the volume. You will hear a beep or double beep for maximum or minimum volume. Alternatively, you can adjust the volume on your connected device.

Step 1. Initiate a call on your connected device to someone who can help you find the correct volume setting.

Step 2. Change the microphone volume in your softphone application and/or in your PC audio application until the other person can hear you clearly.

You can mute the microphone in two ways:

• Rotate the microphone boom arm up.

OR

• Press the Power button once. A “mute on” voice prompt is announced.

To unmute, rotate the boom arm down or press the Power button again. A “mute off” voice prompt is announced.

To activate or deactivate Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), double-press the Settings button. You can use ANC even when the headset is disconnected from any device, as long as the battery is sufficiently charged and the headset is turned on.

TalkThrough allows you to communicate with colleagues without removing the headset, even when ANC is turned on. Audio playback will be paused or muted when TalkThrough is active.

To activate or deactivate TalkThrough, press the Settings button once.

Making a call:

• Initiate the call on your connected device.

• OR, press the Hook button to initiate a call via your softphone.

Accepting a call:

• Press the Hook button.

Rejecting a call:

• Press and hold the Hook button.

Ending a call:

• Press the Hook button.

Putting a call on hold:

• Double press the Hook button to put an active call on hold (pause). Double press again to unhold the call.

Redialing:

• Double press the Hook button to redial the last number.

• To cancel redialing, press the Hook button once.

Using the voice assistant / voice dial:

• Press and hold the Hook button for 1 second to activate your device’s voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant) or voice dial.

• To cancel the voice assistant, press the Hook button once.

You can manage two calls simultaneously. If you receive a second call during an active call, you will hear a knock-on tone.

To answer the incoming second call:

• Press the Hook button once to accept the new call and end the active call.

• Double press the Hook button to accept the new call and put the active call on hold.

To reject the incoming second call:

• Press and hold the Hook button for 1 second to reject the incoming call and continue with the active call.

To toggle between calls (one active, one on hold):

• Double press the Hook button to switch between the two calls.

To end the current active call and resume the held call:

• Press the Hook button once.

To use Microsoft Teams and Cortana, you must connect the headset via the BTD 800 dongle.

Step 1. Plug the dongle into the USB port of your computer.

Step 2. If Microsoft Teams is running, the dongle’s LED will change from blue to purple automatically.

Invoking Microsoft Teams and checking notifications:

• Press the Hook button to bring the Microsoft Teams window to the front on your computer.

• The dongle’s LED will pulse purple to indicate a notification for a missed call, voice mail, or meeting join.

• Press the Hook button to check these notifications on your screen.

Activating and using Microsoft Cortana:

• Press and hold the Hook button for 1 second. The dongle LED will flash purple while activating Cortana.

• When the LED lights up solid purple, Cortana is ready to use.

You can control audio playback using the Multifunction button. These functions depend on the connected device.

• Play/Pause: Tap the button.

• Next track: Double tap the button.

• Fast-forward: Double tap and hold the button.

• Previous track: Triple tap the button.

• Rewind: Triple tap and hold the button.

If you receive and accept a call, audio playback is paused and restarts after the call, if supported by the connected device.

Connect the supplied USB cable to the USB-C socket of the headset and a USB socket of your computer. The battery is being charged. The LED indicates the battery status during charging and turns off when fully charged.

To end charging, disconnect the USB cable from the headset. The headset will turn off automatically if the battery is flat.

You can check the remaining battery power at any time, except while you are in a call.

Press the Settings button for 1 second. The LED flashes shortly and a voice prompt announces the remaining battery power.

The LED also indicates the battery level:

• Purple: more than 60%

• Violet: more than 20%

• Red: less than 20% – an automatic voice prompt will also sound.

When the battery power drops below 20%, the LED flashes red and “Recharge headset” is announced several times.

To avoid nicks or scratches, fold the ear cups inwards towards the headband. Store the headset in its case when not in use or when carrying it around. Keep it in a clean and dry environment.

If you do not use the headset for extended periods, it is recommended to charge the built-in battery every 3 months for about 1 hour.

The Bluetooth transmission range is up to 25 meters (82 feet) with a clear line of sight, but depends on environmental conditions. If the audio quality deteriorates or the connection breaks down, re-enter the radio range of the Bluetooth device.

• If you re-enter the Bluetooth range within 5 minutes, the connection is automatically re-established.

• If you are out of range for more than 5 minutes, the connection breaks down completely. You must manually re-establish the connection by tapping the Multifunction button on the headset.

Reconnecting Bluetooth:

Tap the headset’s Multifunction button or the dongle’s button. The headset flashes blue twice as it finds a device to connect to. The dongle flashes blue and then lights up dimmed blue.

Disconnecting Bluetooth (via dongle):

Double tap the dongle’s button. Bluetooth will be disconnected, and the dongle’s LED will flash red 3 times.

In idle mode (no active call or audio playback), press and hold the Settings button for 4 seconds until the headset announces a voice prompt for “on” or “off”.

If the voice prompts are deactivated, you will hear tones instead.

To clean the product, only use a dry cloth. Be cautious as liquids can damage the electronics. Keep all liquids far away from the product and do not use any cleansing agents or solvents.

For hygienic reasons, you should replace the ear pads from time to time.

Step 1. Carefully remove the old ear pad by pulling it from the ear cup.

Step 2. Insert the fixation band of the new ear pad into the space on the ear cup. Ensure the stitched line on the fixation band is facing towards the bottom.

To update the firmware, you first need to install the free EPOS Connect software on your computer.

Updating the headset firmware:

Step 1. Connect the USB cable to your headset and your computer. The LED lights up.

Step 2. Start EPOS Connect. If a new firmware is available, the software will guide you through the update process.

Updating the dongle firmware:

Step 1. Plug the dongle into the USB port of your computer. The LED lights up.

Step 2. Start EPOS Connect. If a new firmware is available, the software will guide you through the update process.

Step 1. Press and hold the Power button until the LED flashes blue and red, putting the headset in pairing mode.

Step 2. Simultaneously press the Multifunction button and the Power button.

Step 3. The LED flashes blue 3 times. The pairing list is now cleared. The headset will begin searching for Bluetooth devices to pair with.

Step 1. Plug the dongle into the USB port of your computer.

Step 2. Press and hold the button until the LED flashes blue and red.

Step 3. Double press the dongle’s button. The LED flashes purple 3 times. The pairing list is now cleared. The dongle will begin searching for Bluetooth devices to pair with.

If the headset cannot be turned on, the rechargeable battery is likely empty. Please recharge the headset battery.

If ANC cannot be turned on, it could be due to one of two reasons:

• Rechargeable battery empty: Recharge the headset battery.

• Headset turned off: Turn the headset on.

If you experience no audio signal or drop outs, try the following solutions:

• Headset not paired: Pair the headset with your Bluetooth device.

• Volume too low: Increase the volume.

• Headset turned off: Turn the headset on.

• Computer audio device not selected: Change the audio settings on your computer to select the ADAPT 560 as the audio device.

If your headset is not connecting via Bluetooth, check the following:

• Headset not paired: Pair the headset with a Bluetooth device. Ensure there is a maximum distance of 20 cm between devices while pairing.

• Bluetooth profile not supported: Check if your Bluetooth device supports the HF or HS profile.

• Bluetooth is off: Check if Bluetooth is turned on at your mobile device.

• Dongle not plugged in: If using the dongle, ensure it is plugged into the USB port of your computer.

If the dongle LED is blue instead of purple, it indicates that the dongle or Microsoft Teams is disturbed. Try the following:

• Unplug and plug the dongle in again.

• Re-start the Microsoft Teams application on your device.

If you hear beeps instead of voice prompts, the voice prompts feature has been disabled. You can enable the voice prompts again.

If the headset or dongle is unresponsive, there might be a software or hardware problem. Try these steps in order:

1. Turn the headset off and on again.

2. Unplug the dongle and plug it in again.

3. Clear the pairing list of the headset (Reset).

4. Clear the pairing list of the dongle (Reset).
