Please read the user’s manual carefully and store it for future use. The following are important safety instructions for the SENCOR STS 2701GR toaster:

• This appliance may be used by children 8 years of age and older and by persons with physical or mental impairments or by inexperienced persons if they are properly supervised or have been informed about how to use the product in a safe manner and understand the potential dangers.

• Cleaning and maintenance must not be performed by children unless they are older than 8 years of age and under supervision.

• Keep this appliance and the power cord out of reach of children younger than 8 years of age.

• Children must not play with the appliance.

• Before connecting the appliance to a power socket, check that the technical details on the appliance label match the electrical voltage in the socket. Connect the appliance only to a grounded socket.

• This appliance is not designed to be controlled using a programmed device, external timer switch or remote control.

• This appliance is designed for household use only. Do not use it in industrial surroundings or outdoors.

• Do not place the appliance on or near an electrical or gas stove, in the vicinity of an open flame, or on unstable surfaces. Always place it on an even, dry surface.

• To prevent injury by electric shock, do not submerge any part of this appliance in water or any other liquid.

• Ensure sufficient area for air circulation above and on all sides of the appliance during operation. The bread may catch fire, so do not use the appliance near flammable materials such as curtains, wipes, wooden surfaces, etc.

• Do not heat bread products directly on the toasting slots or place any other objects on them, as this can block air circulation and cause a fire.

• The temperature of accessible surfaces may be higher during operation. Do not touch a hot surface near the toasting slots.

• Do not use the appliance without a crumb tray. The tray must be regularly cleaned.

• Always turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power socket when unattended, not in use, and before cleaning.

• Allow the appliance to fully cool down before moving, cleaning, or storing it.

• Do not disconnect the appliance by pulling the power cord. Disconnect by gently pulling the plug.

• Ensure the power cord does not hang over the edge of a table or touch a hot surface.

• Do not use the appliance if it has a damaged power cord/plug, is not working correctly, has been dropped, damaged, or submerged in water. Have all repairs done at an authorized service center.

• This toaster is designed for bread products like bread, toast bread, rolls, buns, and bagels. Do not use it to toast foods containing sugar, marmalade, or canned fruit, such as cakes or pies, as this could cause a fire or injury.

• Before first use, the toaster must be started empty at least three times for the maximum toasting time to remove any potential odors.

Warning! Never attempt to take out a jammed piece of bread or any other bread product using a knife or another metal object. This could lead to injury by electrical shock or damage the appliance. If the bread product becomes jammed in the toaster opening, turn off the toaster and disconnect the power cord from the socket. Allow the toaster to cool down and then carefully remove the jammed bread product.

The main components of the SENCOR STS 2701GR are:

1. Toaster opening for inserting bread products

2. Control lever with the “High Lift” function for lifting smaller bread products

3. DEFROST button for toasting frozen bread products

4. REHEAT for repeated heating of a toast

5. Electronic toasting intensity dial

6. STOP button to immediately stop operation

7. Crumb tray (not shown, located in the bottom part of the toaster)

1. Before use, take the appliance and its accessories out of the packaging material.

2. Connect the toaster to a power socket. Insert a slice of toast bread, slice of bread or half a roll into the toasting slot. Ensure the bread product size is appropriate and does not project out of the toaster. Bread slices must not be too thick to avoid getting jammed.

NOTE: Before first use, the toaster must be started empty at least three times for the maximum toasting time to remove any potential odours.

3. Set the toasting level in the range 1 to 6 (1 – lowest toasting level, 6 – highest toasting level). For first use, it is recommended to set the middle toasting intensity. You can choose a different level for subsequent toasting depending on the type of bread and your taste.

4. Put the appliance into operation by pushing down the control lever. The lever will not lock in the down position if the power cord is not connected to a socket.

5. The toaster will turn itself off as soon as the set toast level is achieved and will automatically eject the inserted bread product. The toasting process can be interrupted at any time by pressing the STOP button.

6. After use, disconnect the toaster from the socket and allow it to cool down before further handling.

The control lever with the “High Lift” function makes it easier to take out smaller bread products. After the toasting is complete and the lever has popped up, you can lift the lever about 2 cm above its initial position to raise the bread product higher for easy removal.

To use the defrost function:

1. Insert frozen bread products into the toasting slots and set the desired toasting level.

2. Push the control lever down until it becomes secured in the lower position.

3. Press the DEFROST button to toast frozen bread products. The DEFROST button will be on.

The toaster will automatically eject the bread products at the end of the toasting process. The process can be interrupted at any time by pressing the STOP button.

This function allows you to reheat toast without further toasting.

1. Insert toasts into the toasting slots.

2. Push the control lever down until it is secured in the lower position.

3. Press the REHEAT button to reheat the toast. The REHEAT button will be on.

The toaster will automatically eject the bread products at the end of the reheating process. This process can be interrupted at any time by pressing the STOP button.

Before cleaning, always disconnect the appliance from the power socket and allow it to cool down.

• **To remove crumbs from the tray:** Hold the toaster above a rubbish bin. Open the tray, remove the crumbs, and then close the tray again. Clean the crumb tray regularly to prevent crumb accumulation, which could lead to a fire.

• **To remove crumbs from inside the toaster:** Turn the toaster upside down and shake out the crumbs above a rubbish bin.

• **To clean the exterior:** Wipe the outside parts of the toaster with a dry or lightly damp cloth and then wipe dry. Ensure that water or dampness does not get inside the toaster.

• **What to avoid:** Do not use cleaning products causing abrasion, petrol, or solvents. To prevent potential injury by electric shock, do not submerge any part of the appliance under water or any other liquid.
