Right out of the box, your new PLANTRONICS MARQUE 2 M165 headset has enough power to pair and make a few calls. It takes two hours to fully charge the headset; the indicator light turns off once charging is complete.

The universal-fit eartip on your PLANTRONICS MARQUE 2 M165 has a thin loop that bends to gently tuck into the contours of either ear. To adjust the fit, you can rotate the eartip on the headset or add the optional clip-on earloop.

If you leave your PLANTRONICS MARQUE 2 M165 headset powered on but out of range of your paired phone for more than 90 minutes, the headset will conserve its battery power by entering into DeepSleep mode.

Once back in range with your phone, tap the Call button to exit DeepSleep mode. If your phone is also ringing, tap the Call button again to answer your call.

Streaming audio on your PLANTRONICS MARQUE 2 M165 is controlled using your phone. When the phone rings, the audio automatically pauses to allow you to answer or ignore the call. Once the call is ignored or ends, the streaming audio is resumed.

Answer a call:

• Say “answer” after the call is announced, or

• Tap the Call button

Reject a call:

• Say “ignore” after the call is announced, or

• Press the Call button for 2 seconds

End a call:

• Tap the Call button to end the current call.

Call back last call:

• Double-tap the Call button.

Mute headset:

During a call, press and hold the Volume/Mute button until you hear “mute on” or “mute off.” While the microphone is muted, an alert repeats every 15 minutes.

Adjust the volume:

Tap the Volume/Mute button to cycle through preset levels.

Use call waiting:

Double tap the Call button to place a current call on hold and answer a new call from the same phone. Double tap the Call button again to switch between calls. Call waiting does not work between two paired phones.

Voice dial (phone feature):

Press the Call button for 2 seconds, wait for the phone prompt, and then tell the phone to dial the name of a stored contact.

Your PLANTRONICS MARQUE 2 M165 headset has an indicator light that flashes in response to a change in status or after a button press. Some examples of what you will see are:

• Solid red until charging complete and then off

• Flashing red and white during pairing

• Triple red flash when <10 minutes of talk time

• Triple white flash at incoming call

Your PLANTRONICS MARQUE 2 M165 headset tells you about status changes in English. For example:

“Power on”

“Pairing successful”

“Talk time (x) hours”

“Mute on”

“Lost connection”

“Recharge headset”

The multipoint technology in your PLANTRONICS MARQUE 2 M165 lets you pair a second phone and answer calls from either phone.

1. Power on your headset.

2. Press and hold the Call button to start pairing mode, then follow the pairing steps on your second phone.

If you prefer to use the Call button to answer or reject calls, you can disable the voice commands “answer” or “ignore” on your PLANTRONICS MARQUE 2 M165.

1. Power on your headset.

2. Simultaneously press the Call and Volume buttons until you see the LEDs flash white two times.

Repeat these steps to reactivate the commands.
