How do I turn the feeder off while keeping the settings?
How do I turn the feeder back on?
What should I do when the low battery indicator flashes?
IMPORTANT:
- To keep the clock and all meal settings saved, you MUST remove the old batteries and replace them with new ones within 60 seconds.
- DO NOT press any buttons while removing or replacing the batteries. Doing so will reset the unit, requiring you to re-programme all settings.
How can I secure the feeder to a board to prevent pets from interfering with it?
- Place the base unit in the desired position on the board. Draw around the footprint with a pencil.
- Draw a centre line on the base unit outline. Mark the rear screw position as shown in Fig. 6 of the PDF (keyhole slot).
- Select a suitable screw (max head diameter 10mm/3/8″, shank diameter 5mm/3/16″, see Fig. 7). Screw it into the board at the marked rear position, leaving a gap of 25mm (1″) between the board surface and the underside of the screw head.
- Locate the keyhole slot on the base unit over the screw head and slide the unit into the fastened position (Fig. 8).
- Align the base unit within the drawn outline. Mark the positions for the front screws through the narrowest end of the front screw holes (H) on the base unit (Fig. 1).
- Remove the base unit from the board. Install two more screws (as specified in step 3) at the marked front positions. Locate the base unit back onto the rear screw and slide into position (as in step 4). If needed, you can tighten the two front screws further to secure the feeder more firmly, while still allowing removal for battery changes/cleaning by loosening them slightly and sliding the unit off the rear screw.
How do I clean the pet feeder?
- The hopper, hopper lid, feeding bowl, and feeding mechanism are made from food-safe materials and may be washed in a dishwasher.
- Clean the base unit using a cloth dampened with water only. Do not immerse the base unit in water.
- To remove the feeding bowl for cleaning, hold in the sprung clips on either side and pull the bowl away from the unit (Fig. 9).
- To remove the feeding mechanism for cleaning, release its retaining clip (Fig. 10).
What should I do if the feeder becomes blocked or jammed?
- Lift the hopper (containing food) out of the base unit.
- Manually rotate the feeding mechanism by hand (as shown in Fig. 11) until the food moves freely again.
- Before reassembling, it is recommended to replace the batteries (following the 60-second rule in section 12 to keep settings). Consider using a different type of dry food that may be less prone to blockage.
- Reassemble the feeder.
- Press the ‘TIME’ button to stop the display flashing and resume normal operation.
What should I do if the LCD display becomes non-responsive?
- Wait 3 minutes before attempting to press any buttons.
- If full function does not return, remove all batteries for 5 minutes.
- Replace the batteries (new ones recommended).
- You will need to re-programme the feeder (clock, meal times, meal sizes) as the settings will have been reset.
Are there any important usage notes I should be aware of?
- Read the instructions before use.
- The control buttons need to be pressed firmly to operate, preventing accidental changes.
- If you start programming and abandon it, the system will ‘time out’ after 60 seconds and display the current time.
- It’s normal for the feeder to make noise when dispensing food. Timid pets might be initially frightened but usually adapt quickly.
- Use only dry (not moist) pet food with a maximum kibble size of 16mm (5/8″).
- When leaving pets, always ensure adequate water and toilet arrangements are made. Do not leave pets, especially young ones, alone for long periods without periodic checks.
- Supervise the feeder’s operation for at least 3 days before leaving your pet unsupervised with it.
