To prevent serious injury or death, please follow these safety warnings for your PERFECT AIRE PAD50:

• Do not exceed the rating of the power outlet or connection device.

• Do not operate or stop the unit by inserting or pulling out the power plug directly from the wall.

• Do not damage or use an unspecified power cord. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified professional.

• Do not modify the power cord length or share the outlet with other appliances.

• Do not insert or pull out the plug with wet hands.

• Do not place the unit near a heat source.

• Disconnect the power if strange sounds, smells, or smoke comes from the unit.

• Before cleaning, turn off the power and unplug the unit.

• Do not use the unit near flammable gas or combustibles such as gasoline, benzene, thinner, etc.

• Do not drink or use the water drained from the unit as it contains contaminants.

• Do not take the water bucket out during operation.

• You should never try to take apart or repair the unit by yourself.

To prevent injury or property damage, please follow these safety cautions for your PERFECT AIRE PAD50:

• Do not use the unit in small spaces, as lack of ventilation can cause overheating and fire.

• Do not put the unit in places where water may splash onto it.

• Place the unit on a level, sturdy section of the floor.

• Do not cover the intake or exhaust openings with cloths or towels.

• Care should be taken when using the unit in a room with infants, children, elderly people, and people insensitive to humidity.

• Do not use in areas where chemicals are handled.

• Never insert fingers or other foreign objects into grill openings.

• Do not place heavy objects on the power cord and ensure it is not compressed.

• Do not climb up on or sit on the unit.

• Always insert the filters securely and clean them at least once every two weeks.

• If water enters the unit, turn it off, disconnect power, and contact a qualified service technician.

• Do not place flower vases or other water containers on top of the unit.

• Ensure the PERFECT AIRE PAD50 is properly grounded. The power cord has a three-prong grounding plug for protection against shock hazards.

• Your unit must be used in a properly grounded wall receptacle. If your wall receptacle is not adequately grounded or protected by a time delay fuse or circuit breaker, have a qualified electrician install the proper receptacle.

• The receptacle must be accessible after the unit is installed.

• Do not use extension cords or an adapter plug with this unit. If an extension cord is necessary, use an approved “Dehumidifier” extension cord only.

• To avoid personal injury, always disconnect the power supply before installing and/or servicing.

When you push a button on the PERFECT AIRE PAD50, the unit will beep to indicate it is changing modes. The control pads have the following functions:

• Continue (Cont.): Press to activate the continuous dehumidifying operation. In this mode, the Up/Down pads are deactivated and you cannot set a desired humidity level.

• Filter: The check filter light illuminates after 250 hours of operation as a reminder to clean the air filter. After cleaning the filter, press the Filter pad to reset the reminder and turn off the light.

• Fan: Press to control the fan speed between High and Normal. Use High for maximum moisture removal. When humidity is reduced and quieter operation is preferred, set the fan to Normal.

• Power: Press to turn the dehumidifier on and off.

• Up/Down Pads (▲/▼): These are the Humidity Set Control Pads. The humidity level can be set within a range of 35%RH (Relative Humidity) to 85%RH in 5% increments. Press the ▼ pad for drier air (lower percentage) and the ▲ pad for damper air (higher percentage). The recommended standard setting is 45-50%. You must be in Normal Fan mode to set the humidity.

• Timer: Press to initiate the Auto start and Auto stop feature, in conjunction with the ▲ and ▼ key pads. The timer range is from 0.0 to 24 hours.

The display on the PERFECT AIRE PAD50 shows the set percentage humidity level (from 35% to 85%) or the auto start/stop time (0-24) while you are setting them. After setting, it shows the actual room percentage humidity level (+/- 5% accuracy) within a range of 30%RH to 90%RH.

The PERFECT AIRE PAD50 uses several codes to indicate its status:

• AS – Humidity sensor error: Unplug the unit for at least 5 minutes and plug it back in. If the error repeats, call for service.

• ES – Temperature sensor error: Unplug the unit for at least 5 minutes and plug it back in. If the error repeats, call for service.

• P2 – Bucket is full or not in the right position: Empty the bucket and replace it in the right position. Ensure the float switch and foam are secured properly in the bucket.

• E1 – Unit malfunction: Unplug the unit for at least 5 minutes and plug it back in. If the error repeats, call for service.

• EC – Unit malfunction: Please make sure the environment temperature is suitable for the stated temperature in the manual. If it is not, operate the unit under the stated temperature. If the temperature is suitable but the error persists, please call for service.

• Bucket Full Light: Glows when the bucket is ready to be emptied, or when it is removed or not replaced in the proper position.

• Auto Shut Off: The dehumidifier shuts off after 30 seconds when the bucket is full or improperly positioned. It also shuts off automatically when the set humidity level is reached. For some models, the fan motor may continue operating.

• Auto Defrost: When frost builds up on the evaporator coils, the compressor will cycle off and the fan will continue to run until the frost disappears. The unit will then restart on its own.

• Safety Feature: To protect the unit, it cannot resume operation for the first 3 minutes after it has stopped. Operation will automatically start after 3 minutes.

• Auto-Restart: If the unit loses power unexpectedly, it will automatically restart with the previous function settings when power is restored.

• Check Filter Feature: The system logs the fan motor’s operation time. The ‘Clean Filter’ indicator light will turn on after 250 hours or more of accumulated operation. After cleaning, press the Filter pad to reset.

• Setting the Timer: When the unit is on, press the Timer button to initiate the Auto Stop program. Press it again to initiate the Auto Start program. Use the UP or DOWN pads to change the time by 0.5-hour increments up to 10 hours, and 1-hour increments up to 24 hours. Turning the unit ON or OFF at any time or setting the timer to 0.0 will cancel the Auto Start/Stop function.

For the best performance from your PERFECT AIRE PAD50, follow these positioning guidelines:

• Use the dehumidifier indoors for residential applications only.

• Place it on a smooth, level floor that is strong enough to support the unit with a full bucket of water.

• Allow at least 8 inches (20 cm) of air space on all sides of the unit for good air circulation. The top should have at least 16 inches (40 cm) of clear space.

• Place the unit in an area where the temperature will not fall below 41°F (5°C) to avoid frost buildup on the coils.

• Position the unit away from clothes dryers, heaters, or radiators.

• The dehumidifier must be operated in an enclosed area to be most effective. Close all doors, windows, and other outside openings to the space you wish to dehumidify.

• The casters on the bottom of the unit allow it to move freely. Do not force casters over carpet or move the unit when there is water in the bucket, as it may tip over and spill.

• When first using the dehumidifier, operate the unit continuously for 24 hours in “Continuous” mode.

• After the first 24 hours, if you wish to set a specific humidity level, you must turn off the “Continuous” mode.

• The unit is designed to operate in an environment between 41°F (5°C) and 95°F (35°C).

• If the unit is switched off and needs to be turned on again quickly, allow about three minutes for it to resume correct operation.

• Do not connect the dehumidifier to a multiple socket outlet that is also being used for other appliances.

• Ensure the water bucket is correctly fitted; otherwise, the unit will not operate properly.

When the bucket is full, the unit will beep 8 times, the full indicator light will flash, and the display will show “P2”.

1. Slowly pull the bucket out. Grip the left and right handles securely and pull it straight out to avoid spilling water.

2. Do not place the bucket on the floor, as the bottom is uneven and it may tip over.

3. Pour the water out.

4. Replace the bucket securely in the dehumidifier. The machine will restart in about 3 minutes once the bucket is correctly in place.

NOTES:

• When removing the bucket, do not touch any parts inside the unit.

• Be sure to push the bucket gently all the way into the unit. Improper installation may cause the unit to not operate.

• When you remove the bucket, wipe away any excess moisture from inside the unit.

You can automatically empty water into a floor drain by attaching a water hose with a female threaded end (not included).

1. Install the drain hose onto the adaptor A (found in the bucket).

2. Remove the plastic cover from the back drain outlet of the unit and set it aside. Remove the bucket.

3. Insert the drain hose through the drain outlet on the back of the unit and securely press it into the connector on the front of the unit.

4. Tighten the adaptor A to the unit using the two provided screws.

5. Install the female threaded end of your water hose onto the adaptor A. Lead the other end of the hose to a floor drain or suitable drainage facility.

6. Ensure the hose is secure to prevent leaks and is directed downward without any kinks to allow water to flow smoothly. Never let the drain hose go upward against gravity.

7. Place the bucket back in the unit, ensuring it is correctly placed.

8. Select your desired humidity setting and fan speed to begin continuous draining.

NOTE: When the continuous drain feature is not being used, remove the drain hose from the outlet and re-insert the drain plug. Failure to do so will result in unit malfunction and possible error codes.

Always turn the dehumidifier off and unplug it before cleaning.

1. Clean the Grill and Case:

• Use a cloth dampened with water and a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or abrasives.

• Do not splash water directly onto the main unit.

• The air intake and outlet grills can be cleaned with a vacuum attachment or a brush.

2. Clean the Bucket:

• Every few weeks, clean the bucket to prevent the growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria.

• Partially fill the bucket with clean water and a small amount of mild detergent. Swish it around, then empty and rinse.

• Do not use a dishwasher to clean the bucket. The bucket must be securely in place for the unit to operate.

3. Clean the Air Filter:

• The ‘Clean Filter’ light will illuminate as a reminder. For more frequent use, clean the filter more often.

• Remove the filter from the top of the unit.

• Wash the filter with clean water, then dry it thoroughly before re-inserting.

CAUTION: Do not operate the dehumidifier without a filter, as dirt and lint will clog the unit and reduce performance.

1. After turning off the unit, wait one day before emptying the bucket.

2. Clean the main unit, water bucket, and air filter, and let them dry completely.

3. Wrap the power cord and bundle it with the band on the unit.

4. Cover the unit with a plastic bag.

5. Store the unit upright in a dry, well-ventilated place.
