How should I position my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 for optimal performance?

For best results, position your PERFECT AIRE PAD30 according to these guidelines:

• This dehumidifier is intended for indoor residential applications only.

• Place the dehumidifier on a smooth, level floor strong enough to support the unit with a full bucket of water.

• Allow at least 8 inches (20 cm) of air space on all sides of the unit for good air circulation. The air outlet grill at the top requires at least 16 inches (40 cm) of clearance.

• Place the unit in an area where the temperature will not fall below 41°F (5°C). The coils can become covered with frost at lower temperatures, which may reduce performance.

• Place the unit away from clothes dryers, heaters, or radiators.

• The dehumidifier must be operated in an enclosed area to be most effective. Close all doors, windows, and other outside openings to the space you wish to dehumidify.

• Do not use outdoors.

What are the best practices for using my PERFECT AIRE PAD30?

When using your PERFECT AIRE PAD30, follow these recommendations:

• When first using the dehumidifier, operate it continuously for 24 hours.

• After the first 24 hours, if you wish to set a desired humidity, you must take the unit out of “Continuous” mode.

• The unit is designed to operate in an environment between 41°F/5°C and 95°F/35°C.

• If the unit is switched off and needs to be switched back on quickly, allow approximately three minutes for operation to resume correctly.

• Do not connect the dehumidifier to a multiple socket outlet that is also being used for other electrical appliances.

• Select a suitable location with easy access to an electrical outlet.

• Plug the unit into an electrical outlet with a grounding connection.

• Ensure the water bucket is correctly fitted, or the unit will not operate properly.

• Do not attempt to move the dehumidifier when there is water in the bucket, as it may tip over and spill.

How do I empty the water bucket on my PERFECT AIRE PAD30?

When the bucket is full, the unit will beep 8 times, the “Full” indicator light will flash, and the display will show “P2”.

1. Slowly pull out the bucket. Grip the left and right handles securely and carefully pull it straight out so water does not spill. Do not place the bucket on the floor as the bottom is uneven, which can cause it to fall and spill.

2. Hold both sides of the bucket with even strength and pull it out from the unit.

3. Pour the water out.

4. Replace the bucket. The bucket must be securely in place for the dehumidifier to operate. The machine will restart when the bucket is restored in its correct position (after a 3-minute delay).

NOTES:

• When you remove the bucket, do not touch any parts inside of the unit.

• Be sure to push the bucket gently all the way into the unit.

• When you remove the bucket, be sure to wipe away any excess moisture found inside the unit.

How do I set up my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 for continuous draining?

You can automatically empty water into a floor drain by attaching a water hose with a female threaded end (not included).

1. Install the provided drain hose onto the adaptor A (found in the bucket).

2. Remove the plastic cover from the back drain outlet of the unit and set it aside.

3. Remove the bucket, then insert the drain hose through the drain outlet of the unit and securely press it into the connector on the front of the unit.

4. Tighten the adaptor A to the unit using the two provided screws.

5. Install the female threaded end of your water hose (not included) onto the adaptor A. Lead the water hose to the floor drain or a suitable drainage facility.

6. Make sure the hose is secure to avoid leakage.

7. Direct the hose down toward the drain, ensuring there are no kinks that will stop the water flow. The end of the hose must be level or pointing down to let the water flow smoothly. Never let the drain hose go upward against gravity.

8. Place the bucket back in the unit and make sure that it is correctly placed.

9. Select the desired humidity setting and fan speed on the unit for continuous draining to start.

NOTE: When the continuous drain feature is not being used, remove the drain hose from the outlet and re-insert the drain plug. Failure to do so will result in unit malfunction and possible error codes.

How do I clean my PERFECT AIRE PAD30?

Turn the dehumidifier off and remove the plug from the wall outlet before cleaning.

1. Clean the Grill and Case

• Use a cloth dampened with water and a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or abrasives.

• Do not splash water directly onto the main unit.

• The air intake and outlet grills get soiled easily, so use a vacuum attachment or brush to clean.

2. Clean the Bucket

• Every few weeks, clean the bucket to prevent the growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria.

• Partially fill the bucket with clean water and add a small amount of mild detergent. Swish it around, then empty and rinse.

• NOTE: Do not use a dishwasher to clean the bucket. After cleaning, the bucket must be securely in place for the dehumidifier to operate.

3. Clean the Air Filter

• Remove the filter from the top of the unit when the filter light illuminates (or more often with frequent use).

• Wash the filter with clean water, then dry thoroughly before re-inserting it.

• CAUTION: DO NOT operate the dehumidifier without a filter because dirt and lint will clog the unit and reduce performance.

How do I prepare my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 for long-term storage?

1. After turning off the unit, wait one day before emptying the bucket.

2. Clean the main unit, water bucket, and air filter and let them dry completely.

3. Wrap the cord and bundle it with the band on the unit.

4. Cover the unit with a plastic bag.

5. Store the unit upright in a dry, well-ventilated place.

What should I do if my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 will not start?

If your PERFECT AIRE PAD30 does not start, check the following:

• Make sure the dehumidifier plug is pushed completely into the outlet.

• Check the fuse/circuit breaker box.

• The dehumidifier may have reached its preset humidity level, or the bucket is full.

• The water bucket is not in the proper position.

• The room may not be humid enough compared to the setting on the dehumidifier.

What should I do if the defrost display on my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 appears repeatedly and no water is drawn?

If your PERFECT AIRE PAD30 is repeatedly in defrost mode without collecting water, try these steps:

1. Turn off the unit and unplug it for 4-6 hours.

2. Plug the unit back in. Select Normal Mode and set the humidity level to no more than 5% lower than what the display reads for the room humidity.

3. Allow time for the unit to run until it successfully reaches the initial humidity setting.

4. Lower the humidity setting another 5% and repeat until the desired humidity is reached (an average setting should be 45-50%).

5. Be sure the unit humidity is not set too low, it’s not sitting on a cold floor, or being used in a room below 41°F.

6. Be sure there is sufficient air circulation between the unit and the floor.

What should I do if my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 displays P2 or ‘Bucket Full’?

If you see a P2 or ‘Bucket Full’ display, check the following:

• If using the bucket to collect water, verify the rubber drain plug is not removed from the back of the unit.

• Check the float switch (an inch-long silver tab in the top of the unit behind the bucket) to ensure it is not cracked, bent, broken, dirty, or obstructed. If bent, re-adjust by re-bending it back into place.

• Check that the unit is level and that the filter, vents, and bucket are thoroughly clean.

• Unplug the unit for at least 5 minutes.

• Plug the unit back in. Remove and return the bucket securely back into the unit and turn it on.

What are the possible reasons my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 is not drawing water?

If your PERFECT AIRE PAD30 is running but not collecting water, consider these points:

• Be sure the unit is not too large or too small for the area of the room.

• When first installed, run the unit on Continuous Mode for 24 hours.

• Allow enough time for the unit to remove moisture.

• Set the humidity low enough to ensure moisture removal (it’s not recommended to set below 45%).

• The setting may be the same as the actual humidity in the room, so there is no moisture to remove.

• Be sure all doors, windows, and other openings are securely closed.

• Be sure the unit is level and that there is sufficient air circulation around the unit, as well as between the unit and the floor.

• Make sure the unit is level and that there are no curtains, blinds, or furniture blocking the unit.

• Check that the room temperature is not below 41°F.

• If the unit is near a heat source, such as a clothes dryer, relocate it.

Why does my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 cycle on and off constantly?

If your dehumidifier is constantly cycling, check the following:

• Be sure the unit is not too large or too small for the area of the room. Using the unit in a much smaller space than its stated coverage will likely cause it to go on and off more frequently. Using too small a unit will cause it to run constantly.

• If the humidity setting and the actual room humidity are cycling around the same value, the unit will go off and on accordingly.

• The fan should go off shortly after the compressor turns off.

• Check that the unit is level and the filter, vents, and bucket are thoroughly clean and nothing is obstructing them.

• Be sure all doors, windows, and other openings are securely closed.

• Ensure there is sufficient air circulation around the unit, as well as between the unit and the floor.

• Unplug the unit for at least 5 minutes. Plug it back in, remove and return the bucket, and turn it on.

What should I do if there is water on the floor around my PERFECT AIRE PAD30?

If you find water on the floor around the unit, please check these possible causes:

• The hose to the connector or the hose connection may be loose.

• If you are using the bucket to collect water, check that the drain plug is secure.

• The foam piece may have been removed from the float in the bucket, causing it to overflow. Call for assistance if this is the case.

Why is my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 always running?

If the dehumidifier runs constantly, review the following possibilities:

• Be sure the unit is not too large or too small for the room.

• Allow enough time for the unit to remove moisture initially.

• If the unit is set on Continuous Mode, it will run continuously. De-select the Continuous button and set it to Normal Mode with an appropriate humidity setting.

• If the humidity in the room is above the set humidity, the unit will continue running.

• Be sure all doors, windows, and other openings are securely closed.

• Be sure the unit is level and there is sufficient air circulation around it.

• Make sure there are no curtains, blinds, or furniture blocking the unit.

• A lower room temperature can cause the unit to run longer.

• If the unit is near a source of moisture, such as a sink, shower, or washing machine, relocate it.

• Check that the filter, vents, and bucket are thoroughly clean.

What should I check if the direct drain on my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 isn’t working properly?

If the direct drain feature is not working, check these items:

• Be sure the hose is clean, pliable, and no longer than 6 feet in length (recommended). Clear tubing with sizing of 5/8 of an inch for the outer diameter and 1/2 inch for the inner diameter is recommended.

• The hose should be secure on both ends, especially ensuring it is pushed all the way onto the connector piece inside the unit.

• The hose should exit through the back of the unit and always be positioned on a DOWNWARD slope to the drain location.

• If using a garden hose attached to the adaptor piece, be sure the connection is secure throughout.

• Be sure nothing is obstructing the hose connection and there are no kinks or tears in the hosing.

• Ensure the unit is level and not tilted forward, and that the bucket is pushed in all the way.

• Check that the filter, vents, and bucket are thoroughly clean.

• If water is going into the bucket instead of the hose, the unit is working properly. The customer needs to double-check all of the above and/or un-hook the hosing set-up and start again.

Why is my PERFECT AIRE PAD30 making a loud noise?

If your PERFECT AIRE PAD30 is making a loud noise, check for these issues:

• The air filter may be clogged. Clean the filter.

• The unit may be tilted instead of upright as it should be.

• The floor surface is not level.
