Always follow these basic safety precautions when using your OMEGA OCI905TZ induction cooktop:

Health & Usage:

• Persons with cardiac pacemakers or other electrical implants (like insulin pumps) must consult their doctor or implant manufacturer before using this appliance to ensure their implants will not be affected by the electromagnetic field.

• This appliance is for domestic, indoor household use only. It is not intended for commercial, industrial, outdoor, or recreational vehicle use.

• The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Avoid touching heating elements.

• Unattended cooking with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in a fire. Never try to extinguish a fire with water; switch off the appliance and cover the flame with a lid or fire blanket.

• Do not store items on the cooking surfaces. Metallic objects like knives, forks, spoons, and lids can get hot.

• Never use the cooktop as a work or storage surface.

• After use, always turn off the cooking zones and the cooktop using the touch controls. Do not rely on the pan detection feature.

Electrical Safety:

• Do not cook on a broken or cracked cooktop. If the surface breaks, switch off the appliance immediately at the mains power supply and contact a qualified technician.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person.

• All electrical work must be done by licensed and qualified persons in accordance with local and national codes.

Children and Vulnerable People:

• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with, sit, stand, or climb on the appliance.

The control panel of the OMEGA OCI905TZ has the following functions:

• A. Power Button: Turns the cooktop on and off.

• B. Power Level Adjustment Controls: A slider to adjust the heat setting for a selected zone.

• C. Timer Adjustment / Selector: Sets the timer.

• D. Power Boost Button: Activates the maximum power setting for a short period.

• E. Child Lock Button: Locks the control panel to prevent accidental use.

• F. Zone Selector: Selects which cooking zone you want to control.

• G. Keep Warm Button: Activates a low heat setting to keep food warm.

• H. Start / Pause Button: Pauses and resumes the cooking process.

Before using your new OMEGA OCI905TZ cooktop:

1. Read the user manual carefully, paying special attention to the ‘Safety Information’ chapter.

2. Remove any protective film that may still be on the cooktop surface.

3. The controls respond to touch, so use the pad of your finger, not the tip. You will hear a beep each time a touch is registered.

4. Ensure the controls are always clean, dry, and not covered by any objects (like a utensil or a cloth). Even a thin film of water can make the controls difficult to operate.

To ensure optimal performance with your OMEGA OCI905TZ, follow these guidelines for choosing cookware:

Compatibility Test:

• Perform a magnet test. Bring a magnet close to the base of the pan. If the magnet is attracted to the pan, it is suitable for induction cooking.

• If you don’t have a magnet, fill the pan with some water and place it on a cooking zone. If the heat indicator does not flash and the water begins to heat up, the pan is suitable.

• Cookware made of pure stainless steel, aluminum, copper without a magnetic base, glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic, and earthenware are NOT compatible with induction cooking.

Cookware Base Requirements:

• Do not use cookware with jagged edges, coarse or uneven surfaces, chipped bottoms, or a curved base.

• Make sure the base of your pan is smooth, sits flat against the glass, and is the same size as the cooking zone.

• Always center your pan on the selected cooking zone.

• To avoid scratching the glass surface, gently lift cookware on and off. Do not slide it across the glass.

Follow these steps to begin cooking on your OMEGA OCI905TZ:

1. Power On: Press the Power button. A single beep will sound, and all indicators will briefly display “-” before turning off, indicating the cooktop is in standby mode.

2. Prepare the Cooking Surface: Place a compatible pan or pot on the desired cooking zone. Ensure the bottom of the pan and the cooktop surface are clean and dry.

3. Select the Cooking Zone: Touch the Zone Selector button beside the desired cooking zone. An indicator next to the key will start flashing.

4. Choose the Heat Setting: Adjust the power level by touching and sliding the Power Level Adjustment Controls to your desired temperature.

Note: If you do not adjust the heat setting within 1 minute of selecting a cooking zone, the cooktop will automatically switch off. You will need to restart from step 1.

To switch off an individual cooking zone:

1. Touch the Zone Selector button next to the desired cooking zone. The indicator will flash.

2. Touch and slide the Power Level Adjustment Controls down to “0”. The display will show “0”, confirming the zone is off.

To turn off the entire cooktop:

• Touch the Power button control. This will shut down the entire cooktop.

Caution – Hot Surfaces:

After cooking, an “H” may display, indicating that the cooking zone is too hot to touch. This symbol will disappear once the surface has cooled to a safe temperature. You can use this residual heat as an energy-saving feature to keep food warm or heat other pans.

The Power Boost function provides maximum power to a cooking zone for a short time, ideal for boiling water quickly.

1. Select the Cooking Zone: Touch the Zone Selector button for the cooking zone you wish to boost.

2. Activate Boost Function: Press and hold the Power Boost button (B) until the power level display shows “P”.

3. Cancelling the Boost Function: To cancel, touch and slide the Power Level Adjustment Controls down to your desired power level.

Note: The Boost function operates for a maximum of 5 minutes. Afterward, the zone will automatically revert to power level 9.

The timer on your OMEGA OCI905TZ can be used as a simple minute minder or to automatically turn off a cooking zone. It can be set for up to 99 minutes.

Using the Timer as a Minute Minder:

1. Ensure the cooktop is on and no cooking zone is selected (no blinking indicator).

2. Touch the Timer Selector button. “00” will appear on the timer display, and the first digit will blink.

3. Adjust the first digit by touching & sliding the Timer Adjustment Controls.

4. Touch the Timer Adjustment Controls again to set the second digit, which will now be blinking.

5. Adjust the second digit using the controls.

6. Touch the Timer Adjustment Controls again to confirm the time. The countdown will begin immediately.

7. When the time elapses, an alert will sound for 30 seconds, and the display will show “- -“.

Using the Timer to Power Off a Cooking Zone:

1. Select the desired heating zone by touching its Zone Selector button.

2. Follow steps 2-6 from the “Minute Minder” instructions above to set the desired cooking time.

3. Once set, the countdown will start. A red dot next to the power level indicator shows which zone the timer is set for.

4. When the timer reaches zero, the corresponding cooking zone will turn off automatically.

To Cancel the Timer:

1. Select the heating zone for which you want to cancel the timer.

2. Touch the timer control; the indicator will flash.

3. Adjust the time back to “00” to cancel the timer for that zone.

The Child Lock function prevents unintended use of the cooktop by disabling most controls.

To lock the controls:

• Touch the Child Lock button. The timer indicator will display “Lo”. When locked, all controls except the Power button are disabled.

To unlock the controls:

1. Ensure the cooktop is powered on.

2. Press and hold the Child Lock button for 3 seconds.

3. You can now resume using your cooktop.

Note: In an emergency, you can always turn the cooktop off using the Power button, even when it is locked. However, you must unlock it before you can use it again.

The OMEGA OCI905TZ is equipped with an auto-off safety feature that automatically shuts down a cooking zone if it is left on unintentionally for an extended period. The default shutdown time depends on the power level setting.

Using the Keep Warm function:

1. Activate: Select the cooking zone, then press the Keep Warm button. The zone indicator will display “I”, indicating a low heat setting.

2. Cancel: To cancel, select the zone again and use the Power Level Adjustment Controls to choose a different power level, or select another function like Power Boost.

Using the Start / Pause function:

1. Activate Pause: While one or more zones are active, press the Start / Pause button. All heating zones will cease operation, and their indicators will display “||”.

2. Deactivate Pause: Touch any of the Zone Selector buttons first, then press the Start / Pause button again. All cooking zones will return to their initial settings.

Note: For your safety, if the Pause function is not cancelled within 30 minutes, the induction cooking will automatically switch off.

Follow these instructions to clean different types of spills and marks on your OMEGA OCI905TZ cooktop:

For everyday soiling on glass (fingerprints, marks, food stains):

1. Switch the power to the cooktop off.

2. Apply a cooktop cleaner while the glass is still warm (but not hot).

3. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.

4. Switch the power back on.

WARNING: The cooking zone may still be hot even if the ‘hot surface’ indicator is off. Do not use heavy-duty or harsh/abrasive scourers, as they may scratch the glass.

For boilovers, melts, and hot sugary spills:

1. Remove these immediately with a fish slice, palette knife, or razor blade scraper suitable for ceramic glass cooktops. Be extremely careful of hot surfaces.

2. Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall.

3. Hold the blade at a 30° angle and scrape the spill to a cool area of the cooktop.

4. Clean up the spill with a dishcloth or paper towel.

5. Follow the steps for ‘Everyday soiling on glass’ to finish cleaning.

WARNING: If left to cool on the glass, sugary spills can permanently damage the glass surface. The blade in a scraper is razor-sharp; use with extreme care.

For spillovers on the touch controls:

1. Switch the power to the cooktop off.

2. Soak up the spill.

3. Wipe the touch control area with a clean damp sponge or cloth.

4. Wipe the area completely dry with a paper towel.

5. Switch the power back on.

Note: The cooktop may beep and turn itself off if there is liquid on the touch controls. Ensure the area is dry before turning the cooktop back on.

If your OMEGA OCI905TZ cooktop displays an error code, it indicates a technical fault. Refer to the table below for possible causes and solutions.

If a serious fault occurs, immediately power off the cooktop, disconnect it from the power source, and contact an authorised service agent. Do NOT attempt to repair it yourself.
