Please note that cookware made of materials like pure stainless steel, aluminum, or copper without a magnetic base, as well as glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic, and earthenware, are not compatible with induction cooking.

To ensure the best performance and avoid damaging your OMEGA OCI604TZ cooktop, please follow these guidelines for choosing cookware:

• Do not use cookware with jagged edges, coarse or uneven surfaces, chipped bottoms, or a curved base.

• Ensure the base of your pan is smooth, sits flat against the glass, and is the same size as the cooking zone.

• Always center your pan on the cooking zone.

• For best practice, gently lift cookware off the glass surface. Avoid sliding it, as the bottom of your cookware may scratch the surface.

Below is a cookware size guide for your cooktop’s zones:

• Ø180mm Zone: Cookware Size: Ø140mm

• Ø160mm Zone: Cookware Size: Ø120mm

Follow these steps to begin cooking:

1. Power On: Press the Power button. A single beep will sound, and all indicators will briefly display “-” before turning off. The cooktop is now in standby mode.

2. Prepare the Cooking Surface: Place an induction-compatible pan or pot on the desired cooking zone. Ensure the bottom of the pan and the cooktop surface are clean and dry.

3. Select the Cooking Zone: Touch the Zone Selector button beside the desired cooking zone. An indicator next to the selected key will start flashing.

4. Select the Heat Setting: Touch the Power Level Adjustment Controls (“-” and “+”) corresponding to your desired cooking area to set the power level from 1 to 9.

Note: If you do not adjust the heat setting within 1 minute of selecting the cooking zone, the cooktop will automatically switch off. You will need to restart the process from step 1. You can modify the power level at any point during cooking.

First, select the cooking zone you wish to turn off by touching its Zone Selector button. Then, touch the Power Level Adjustment Control “-” and keep pressing it until the display shows “0”. This confirms the cooking zone has been turned off.

To shut down the entire cooktop, simply touch the Power button control.

After cooking, an “H” may appear on the display, indicating that the cooking zone is too hot to touch. This is a residual heat warning. The symbol will disappear once the surface has cooled to a safe temperature. This feature can also be used for energy saving, as you can use the residual heat to warm other pans or continue cooking without using additional power.

The Child Lock function prevents unintended use, such as accidental activation by children. When locked, all controls except the Power button are disabled.

To lock the controls:

Touch the Child Lock button. The timer indicator will display “Lo”.

To unlock the controls:

1. Ensure the cooktop is powered on.

2. Press and hold the Child Lock button for 3 seconds.

3. You can now resume using your cooktop.

Note: In an emergency, you can always turn the cooktop off using the Power button, even when it is locked. However, you must unlock it before you can use it again.

1. Switch the power to the cooktop off.

2. Apply a cooktop cleaner while the glass is still warm (but not hot!).

3. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.

4. Switch the power to the cooktop back on.

Warning: When the power is off, there will be no ‘hot surface’ indication, but the cooking zone may still be hot. Take extreme care. Avoid heavy-duty scourers and harsh/abrasive cleaning agents as they may scratch the glass. Never leave cleaning residue on the cooktop as it may cause stains.

Remove these immediately to prevent permanent damage to the glass surface. Be very careful as the cooking zones will be hot.

1. Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall.

2. Use a fish slice, palette knife, or razor blade scraper suitable for ceramic glass cooktops. Hold the blade or utensil at a 30° angle and scrape the soiling or spill to a cool area of the cooktop.

3. Clean the soiling or spill up with a dish cloth or paper towel.

4. Follow the steps for ‘Everyday soiling on glass’ to finish cleaning.

Warning: The blade in a scraper is razor-sharp. Use with extreme care and always store safely out of reach of children.

If liquid is spilled on the touch controls, the cooktop may beep and turn itself off, and the controls may not function.

1. Switch the power to the cooktop off.

2. Soak up the spill.

3. Wipe the touch control area with a clean damp sponge or cloth.

4. Wipe the area completely dry with a paper towel.

5. Switch the power to the cooktop back on.

This humming noise is caused by the technology of induction cooking. It is a normal sound. The noise should quieten down or disappear completely when you decrease the heat setting.

A cooling fan is built into your OMEGA OCI604TZ to prevent the electronics from overheating. It may turn on during use and continue to run even after you’ve turned the cooktop off. This is normal and requires no action. Do not switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall while the fan is running.

If your pans do not heat up, there could be two reasons:

• Incompatible cookware: The induction cooktop cannot detect the pan because it is not suitable for induction cooking. Use cookware suitable for induction cooking (check with a magnet).

• Incorrect pan placement: The pan may be too small for the cooking zone or not properly centered on it. Centre the pan and make sure its base matches the size of the cooking zone.
