Usage Conditions and Restrictions:

• This appliance is for indoor household use only. It is not intended for commercial, industrial, outdoor, or recreational vehicle use.

• Do not store or use flammable materials near the cooktop. Items made from aluminum, plastic, and sugar-based foods should also be kept away as they may fuse to the surface.

• The surface temperature can exceed 95°C. To avoid a hazard, under-bench access must be restricted by installing a board underneath the cooktop.

• Do not modify this appliance.

The OMEGA OCI903FTZ must be installed according to the following instructions to ensure safety and proper function:

General Requirements:

• The work surface must be square, level, and made of a heat-resistant material.

• If installed above an oven, the oven must have a built-in cooling fan.

• Installation must comply with all clearance requirements and applicable standards.

• A suitable, approved isolating switch providing a 3mm air gap contact separation in all poles must be incorporated in the permanent wiring and be easily accessible after installation.

• Use heat-resistant and easy-to-clean finishes (like ceramic tiles) for wall surfaces surrounding the cooktop.

• Ensure power is off before starting installation.

Cut-Out and Clearances:

• The bench cut-out should be made as per the dimensions below. It is critical that the cut-out corresponds to your cooktop model.

• A minimum of 50mm clearance space around the cut-out must be maintained.

• The work surface must be at least 30mm thick. Use heat-resistant and insulated material.

• A barrier must be installed to prevent accidental contact with the cooktop base if it is accessible from below (e.g., inside a cupboard). A minimum clearance of 50mm must be maintained between the cooktop base and the barrier.

• Ensure the cooktop is well-ventilated and the air inlet and outlet are not blocked.

• The safety distance between the sides of the cooktop and the inner surfaces of the worktop should be at least 3mm.

The electrical connection for your OMEGA OCI903FTZ must be performed by a qualified person and adhere to the following guidelines:

• The power supply should be connected in compliance with the relevant standard, or a single-pole circuit breaker.

• If the power cable is damaged or needs replacing, this must be done by an after-sales technician using proper tools.

• If connecting the appliance directly to the mains supply, an omnipolar circuit breaker must be installed with a minimum gap of 3mm between contacts.

• D. Power Boost Button: Activates maximum power for a short duration.

• F. Zone Selector: Selects a specific cooking zone to adjust its settings.

• G. Keep Warm Button: Maintains a low temperature to keep food warm.

• H. Start / Pause Button: Pauses and resumes the cooking process.

To determine if your cookware is compatible with induction cooking on your OMEGA OCI903FTZ, you can perform a simple magnet test. Bring a magnet close to the base of the pan. If the magnet is attracted to the pan, it is suitable for induction use.

If you don’t have a magnet, you can follow these steps:

1. Fill the pan you wish to test with some water.

2. Place the pan on a cooking zone and start the cooking process as instructed.

3. If the indicator on the display does not flash and the water begins to heat up, the pan is suitable for induction.

Please note that cookware made of pure stainless steel, aluminum, or copper without a magnetic base, as well as glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic, and earthenware, are not compatible with induction cooking.

Follow these guidelines to ensure optimal performance with your OMEGA OCI903FTZ:

• Do not use cookware with jagged edges, coarse or uneven surfaces, chipped bottoms, or a curved base.

• Ensure the base of your pan is smooth, sits flat against the glass, and is the same size as the cooking zone.

• Always center your pan on the cooking zone.

• For best practice, gently lift cookware off the glass surface instead of sliding it to avoid scratching the glass.

• The FlexZone can be used with griddle plates or larger cookware designed for that specific area.

• For induction cookware with incomplete ferromagnetic bases (e.g., those with aluminum), the ferromagnetic area may be reduced, which could lead to inadequate heating or the cookware not being detected.

Follow these steps to begin cooking on your OMEGA OCI903FTZ:

1. Power On: Press the Power button. A single beep will sound, and all indicators will briefly display “-” before the cooktop enters standby mode.

2. Prepare the Cooking Surface: Place an induction-compatible pan on the desired cooking zone. Ensure the bottom of the pan and the cooktop surface are clean and dry.

3. Select the Cooking Zone: Touch the Zone Selector button beside the desired cooking zone. An indicator adjacent to the key will start flashing.

4. Choose the Heat Setting: Adjust the power level by touching and sliding the Power Level Adjustment Controls to your desired temperature.

Note: If you do not adjust the heat setting within 1 minute of selecting a zone, the cooktop will automatically switch off. You will need to restart from step 1.

Switching Off Individual Cooking Zones:

1. Touch the Zone Selector button next to the desired cooking zone. An indicator adjacent to the key will start flashing.

2. Touch and slide the Power Level Adjustment Controls down to “0”. Ensure the display indicates “0” to confirm the zone is off.

Turning Off the Entire Cooktop:

• To shut down the entire cooktop, touch the Power button control.

Caution: Hot Surfaces

• After cooking, an “H” may display, indicating that the cooking zone is too hot to touch. The symbol will disappear once the surface has cooled to a safe temperature. You can use this residual heat as an energy-saving feature to heat other pans or continue cooking.

Utilising the Power Boost Function:

1. Select the cooking zone featuring the boost function.

2. Press and hold the Power Boost button (B) until the power level display shows “P”.

3. To cancel, touch and slide the Power Level Adjustment Controls down to the desired power level.

Note: The Boost function operates for a maximum of 5 minutes, then automatically reverts to level 9.

Using the Timer Function:

• As a Minute Minder: With the cooktop on and no zone selected, touch the Timer Selector button. Adjust the time using the Timer Adjustment Controls. The countdown starts immediately.

• To Power Off a Zone: Select a heating zone, then touch the Timer Selector button. Set the desired time. A red dot next to the power level indicates the timer is active for that zone. When the timer reaches zero, the zone will automatically turn off.

• To Cancel a Timer: Select the heating zone, touch the timer control, and then press the “-” control until the timer shows “00”.

Using the Child Lock Function:

• To Lock: Touch the Child Lock button. The timer indicator will display “Lo”. All controls except the Power button will be disabled.

• To Unlock: Ensure the cooktop is powered on. Press and hold the Child Lock button for 3 seconds.

Using the FlexZones (BridgeZones):

• As a Single Large Zone: Press both Zone Selector buttons for a bridge area simultaneously to merge them. An alert will sound. Set the power level as usual.

• To Cancel BridgeZone: Touch any of the Zone Selector buttons that are in use to deactivate the function.

• As Two Independent Zones: Touch the individual Zone Selector button for the desired zone and set its power level independently.

Using the Keep Warm Function:

• To Activate: Select the desired cooking zone, then press the Keep Warm button. The zone indicator will display “I”.

• To Cancel: Select the zone again and choose a new power level using the slider, or select another function like Power Boost.

Using the Start / Pause Function:

• To Activate Pause: Press the Start / Pause button. All heating zones will cease operation and display “||”.

• To Deactivate Pause: Touch any Zone Selector button first, then press the Start / Pause button again. All cooking zones will return to their initial settings.

Note: If Pause is not canceled within 30 minutes, the cooktop will automatically switch off.
