How do I verify if my cookware is compatible with the OMEGA OCI903FTZ?

To determine if your cookware is compatible with induction cooking on your OMEGA OCI903FTZ, you can perform a simple magnet test. Bring a magnet close to the base of the pan. If the magnet is attracted to the pan, it is suitable for induction use.

If you don’t have a magnet, you can follow these steps:

1. Fill the pan you wish to test with some water.

2. Place the pan on a cooking zone and start the cooking process as instructed.

3. If the indicator on the display does not flash and the water begins to heat up, the pan is suitable for induction.

Please note that cookware made of pure stainless steel, aluminum, or copper without a magnetic base, as well as glass, wood, porcelain, ceramic, and earthenware, are not compatible with induction cooking.

What are the guidelines for choosing the right cookware for my OMEGA OCI903FTZ?

Follow these guidelines to ensure optimal performance with your OMEGA OCI903FTZ:

• Do not use cookware with jagged edges, coarse or uneven surfaces, chipped bottoms, or a curved base.

• Ensure the base of your pan is smooth, sits flat against the glass, and is the same size as the cooking zone.

• Always center your pan on the cooking zone.

• For best practice, gently lift cookware off the glass surface instead of sliding it to avoid scratching the glass.

• The FlexZone can be used with griddle plates or larger cookware designed for that specific area.

• For induction cookware with incomplete ferromagnetic bases (e.g., those with aluminum), the ferromagnetic area may be reduced, which could lead to inadequate heating or the cookware not being detected.

How do I start cooking on the OMEGA OCI903FTZ?

Follow these steps to begin cooking on your OMEGA OCI903FTZ:

1. Power On: Press the Power button. A single beep will sound, and all indicators will briefly display “-” before the cooktop enters standby mode.

How do I clean and maintain my OMEGA OCI903FTZ?

Marks, Blemishes or Spots Solution Warning
Everyday soiling on glass (fingerprints, marks, stains left by food or non-sugary spillovers on the glass). 1. Switch the power to the cooktop off.
2. Apply a cooktop cleaner while the glass is still warm (but not hot!).
3. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
4. Switch the power to the cooktop back on.
• When the power is off, there will be no ‘hot surface’ indication but the zone may still be hot! Take extreme care.
• Heavy-duty scourers, some nylon scourers and harsh/abrasive cleaning agents may scratch the glass. Always read the label.
• Never leave cleaning residue on the cooktop as it may stain the glass.
Boilovers, melts, and hot sugary spills on the cooktop glass. 1. Remove these immediately with a fish slice, palette knife or razor blade scraper suitable for ceramic glass cooktops, but beware of hot cooking zone surfaces.
2. Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall.
3. Hold the blade or utensil at a 30° angle and scrape the soiling or spill to a cool area of the cooktop.
4. Clean the soiling or spill up with a dish cloth or paper towel.
5. Follow steps 2 to 4 for ‘Everyday soiling on glass’ above.
• Remove stains left by melts and sugary food or spillovers as soon as possible. If left to cool, they may be difficult to remove or permanently damage the glass.
WARNING: Cut hazard. The blade in a scraper is razor-sharp. Use with extreme care and always store safely and out of reach of children.
Spillovers on the touch controls. 1. Switch the power to the cooktop off.
2. Soak up the spill.
3. Wipe the touch control area with a clean damp sponge or cloth.
4. Wipe the area completely dry with a paper towel.
5. Switch the power to the cooktop back on.
The cooktop may beep and turn itself off, and the touch controls may not function while there is liquid on them. Make sure you wipe the touch control area dry before turning the cooktop back on.

What should I do if my OMEGA OCI903FTZ is not working correctly?

Refer to the table below for minor fault troubleshooting for your OMEGA OCI903FTZ.

Problem Possible Cause Solution
The cooktop cannot be powered on. No power is going to the cooktop. Ensure the cooker is connected to the power and is switched on. Check for a power outage in your home or area.
The touch controls won’t respond, or are difficult to operate. The controls may be locked. Deactivate the Child Lock function.
There may be a slight film of water on the controls. Gently clean and dry the controls.
You may be using the tip of your finger as opposed to the pad. Make sure to use the pad of your finger rather than the tip.
The ceramic glass is being scratched. Rough-edged cookware may have been used. Use cookware with flat and smooth bases.
Unsuitable cleaning products (e.g., abrasive scourer) may have been used. Refer to the Care & Maintenance section.
Some of my cookware makes crackling or clicking noises. This may be caused by the construction of your cookware (layers of different metals vibrating differently). This is normal for cookware and does not indicate a fault.
The cooktop makes a low humming noise when used on a high heat setting. This is caused by the technology of induction cooking. This is normal, but the noise should quieten or disappear when you decrease the heat setting.
Fan noise coming from the cooktop. A cooling fan has come on to prevent overheating. It may continue to run even after you’ve turned the cooktop off. This is normal and needs no action. Do not switch the power off at the wall while the fan is running.
Pans do not become hot. The pan may not be suitable for induction cooking. Use cookware suitable for induction cooking.
The pan is too small for the cooking zone or not properly centered. Center the pan and make sure its base matches the size of the cooking zone.

What do the fault codes on my OMEGA OCI903FTZ display mean?

If your OMEGA OCI903FTZ displays a fault code, refer to the table below. For codes E2/E3, E4/E5, and E7/E8, please switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall and contact After Sales Support.

Fault Code Possible Cause Solution
E2 / E3 Abnormal supply voltage. Switch the power to the cooktop off at the wall, and contact our After Sales Support.
E4 / E5 Temperature sensor failure.
E6 / E9 Bad induction cooktop heat radiation. Please inspect whether power supply is normal. Power on after the power supply is normal.
E7 / E8 Temperature sensor of the IGBT failure. Please restart after the induction cooktop cools down.
